Pleased to see you got back safe and sound squigs, it was the same for us, the airline at check-in did not pick up we had only been out of India for a month, so I don't think it is something they are looking for and we did not have any problems at Immigration in Mumbai.
I have friends that went back to get new visitors visa's over Christmas and they are back here but I have not spoken to them yet so don't know what problems they might of had but it looks to me it as if it has all been a storm in a tea cup and the two month rule is not been implemented yet, if ever
the two month rule is not been implemented yet, if ever
I just got my visa from the Edinburgh vfs - and they have now started actually printing the two month rule wording on the visa itself in large text.
Also I was warned twice about it verbally, first when applying, and second when collecting.
It does appear that they are serious about this. Seems crazy - it's certainly killed off my idea about going out later this year for a second trip.
Killed off my idea too Thailand here we come
also they have changed the form on the vfs website, you now need photos

Started online visa application and got to the page where they asked if I wanted to add another relative and I said no and now I cannot get back in to print form. At no time did I see a web reference number which I apparently need to reenter the site. I have emailed the visa office address on their Frequently Asked Questions page. Does anyone know how long it will take them to get back to me?
We are in the same position as you we have already booked for February,we will have been away from goa for 7 weeks . I wanted to take a chance and just go but I have heard a French couple and an English family with 2 children have been deported already on this new ruling.
I am really sorry that I have booked this second trip now ( we have been going twice and sometimes 3 times on our visas since 1995) It does not seem fair to change the rules half way through the season, so did they tell you to book an appointment ? it will be difficult for me to take a day of work and travel to Birmingham and then BEG? for my holiday in Goa , I feel like telling them to stuff it and we will go somewhere we will be welcomed but how would we stand compensation wise, does anyone have an answer? as I said we had already booked this trip before the new ruling came out.
So do I make an appointment lose a days pay, do both of us have to go ? £50 in petrol £14 if accepted it really is getting beyond a joke even for Goa !
scorpion.
I think it is time we finally moved on, the world is a big place !!!!!!!!!!!!
and some of it is CLEAN.
still no visa according to the track yr passport thingy on the website unless I am looking at the wrong thing . I went up 7th jan and its still not ready to collect . I fly out 28th jan and I am worried now
Do u think it,s the Agony in the build up :or the ecstacy ::when there
Take a deep breath and maybe start again :

Just hope to many people do not get caught up in this.
Just hope to many people do not get caught up in this.
If I wanted to cause havoc and blow some things up, using illegal firearms and explosives, I could probably get a false passport and visa!
A lot of people visit several times in one season. More visa gaps = fewer holidays = less income.

Merged
got there about 6.30 am(i remember getting visas from there lol) about 12 people in front of me.
they all appeared to be of indian origin so were not there for the same reason as me
they give out the numbers ( a raffle ticket for return tourists) as usual at 8.30am but now you do not go into the buiding untill 9.15am so you have to que again.
by 8.30 there was loads of people queing
i in fact was told by the women at the counter to come back at 10 after i had got my raffle ticket but i qued and got in but had to wait.
10.30 am is when they deal with the returning tourists.you are called upstairs in small groups and then you go in one by one to have a bit of a chat
think ill be ok cause theyve kept my passport and money lol though i did get questioned as my visa has come from the birmingham consulate and he asked me why i was in london.long story
another thing they take only cash at the london high commission and not postal orders like it says on the vfs website
forgot to say they ring you in a few days when your passports ready (they stamp a special permission statement in your passport) and then you have to troop back to the high commission
My hubby is not impressed by this and I have a feeling he will say sod it we will just go to airport
Like members have already said on here and trip advisor what if you dont have excess to a computer........my travel agent (who i booked my first flight and my 2nd holiday) havent been in touch. We arent due to travel til mid feb maybe by then more info will be available.
Regards Jules
