As far as Ram (and I think everyone else) is concerned Wed nights seems to have become a fixture in our Goa calandar its been a fab season for the meets and we have met a lot of great people.... thanks to you all HT'ers for your friendship this season... heres looking forward to next year
chilly
I didn't expect a different answer Chilly- but I had to ask anyway I'll sort out the dates in a couple of months and leave you to it( I know you hate the dates bit )
chilly
sorry to anyone that turned up at Toto's tonight...i know a few did... but due to the power cut that engulfed Calangute candolim and Baga for hours they closed early..have just received a message from Noggin via somebody here that he will be at Totos next week so we will keep it there incase he doesnt come on HT inbetween but if it is closed we will be in Cactus just down the road towards candolim same side as totos ... 8-8.30pm
As I've a long weekend coming up, I might work out next year's dates but its probably a bit early for folks to add names?

Yes Fiona,I know we want to come out the last week in October, but until the flights are booked
may just have to be a little flexible within a day or two .whatever, we will be there for the first HT meet as usual Same as Chilly
thanks for that tony...ive paid 1280 for 3 weeks at lui beach with monarch including upgrade to premium...is that a good deal??
Hi Pauly, when are you going to Lui beach, we arrive Nov 21st
Hi karen,i fly out xmas eve
We will be home by then, you got a really good deal for Xmas Pauly. We loved the Lui Beach last year, asked for aircon and got moved to a really lovely room, one of the best we have ever had in Goa, only downside the beach down that end but we just either walked up or a taxi to the end of beach road.
Hi karen, thanks for the reply ive stayed at the ve a couple of times but it was a bit expensive with first choice,so jewel in the crown an monarch it is.having read reviews about monarch am not looking forward to it but its not that long a flight im in posh bit at front so a few beers an a rubbish movie or two should make it bearable..
We are off to Candolim October 20th for 10 days, really looking forward to it, heard lots of good reports on Goa!
Any advice would be very much appreciated??
Have the prices for eating and drinking out gone up considerably?? Staying in a private apartment, so doing flight only!
Jules x
Welcome to HT
We arrive about the same time but the season doesn't start until November so every thing will only just be starting to open and a lot of cleaning up will still be going on from the monsoons but we love it at this time every thing is so fresh and clean after the rains and the restaurants open up every day
Prices will be the same as the last season as they use the old menu's until the new ones come out for Christmas and NY and the prices go up.
You might find that you will need to travel to Baga in the evenings to find more thing happening when you first get there as Candolim is some times slow getting started again but every season is different and Baga it is only a short taxi ride away
It is our first time to India and we are staying in our friends apartment. Am hoping that some of the beach shacks will be open during the day and evening, as have heard lots about the wonderful bbq's of an evening!
No idea of menu costs from last season? Heard from friends that it is rather cheap but have heard others saying prices have gone up, which is to be expected and am sure will be cheaper than Europe!
We are looking forward to warm sun, relaxing by our pool, sea, beach and some good chats with friendly people, chilled holiday! Oh, and some yummy food!!
It sounds like you are a frequent traveller to Goa, do you have a rough idea of costs, such as meals, drinks and taxis please?
Cheers Jules x

Hi again,
Sounds like you will love Goa but some things can be very basic so please don't judge the place until you have had time to settled in.
A European type main course will cost from 240 Rps and a starter or desert from 80 Rps but if you prefer a non veg curry you can eat very inexpensively and even cheaper if you like just veg, soft drinks are about 20 Rps for a soda or bottle of water but for a fresh fruit juice or lassi allow up to 40 or 50 Rps and about the same as a small beer although you can get large beers to share from 55 rps in some bars
We spend six plus months a year there so could be described as been bit biased or just plain lucky
