The Artemis is just off the main road at the bottom of the hill upto Kefalos village. They are in a good location, close (5 minutes) to the harbour road where most of the bars and restaurants are. There is a supermarket within 50 yards (seasonal), a nice bar (Politis) which stays open all year and a lovely restaurant called Gallinis. The family that run the apartments were very friendly and helpful. We'll return there if we have a chance. I'd can't comment about how busy they'll be in October but if Kef is like most small Greek places I'd assume that some shops etc. will have closed down for the winter.

hii, a group of 8 of us have booked a cheap deal to Kardamena in mid may 2011, could anyone tell us what the weather will be like and nightlife etc..

Thankss!

The party season will not have got going, we usualy go mid may [to avoid it] the last few times it has been around 28C during the day cooling to around 18 at night, expect the odd bit of rain. The sea front and bar street [one behind] usualy have about half the bars and tavena's open,

The weather should be nice enough for sunbathing during the day. The nightlife won't be bopping, but should be enough to keep you going. :tup

it's what you make it at night,if there's a mob of you and you're all open minded you'll have a great time even if it isn't that busy, there'll be enough going on every night to have a ball,mid-may is when it's all building up so everyone in the resort will be up for it,locals, workers and tourists alike, whereas mid-late september when it's about as busy tends to be a bit of a different atmosphere as everyone's knackered from the summer and takings are falling week after week, may is lovely weather wise aswell, usually there's the 'last storm' around the 10th or so and from then on it's 4 months of almost unbroken roasting hot sun. it's similar to Rhodes as it's only 50 miles or so away and i've known it hit 100 degrees in may, although the higher 80's are more likely, with it warm but not too hot at night

Hi

My husband and I are hoping to take advantage of the new RyanAir flights over to Kos this summer, but I'm struggling to find a resort.

I have visited Kos many years ago when I was 18 and we stayed in Kardamena. Suitable at 18 but not quite so attractive at 35!!

We are looking for somewhere with a great beach, some nice taverna's in the evening and maybe a couple of nice bars. The more traditional the better :)
We'll probably be hiring a car to explore aswell..so any ideas on resort or accomodation possibilities will be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Ceri

Well I stand corrected...maybe things have changed since I was there last :)

dont get me wrong if you go into the village, evenings in peek season then little has changed, but we stay just south of the village and walk up during the day when the young'ens are sleeping it off,the best hotels in the area are all a km or two from the village for peace and quiet

Of the resorts on Kos the ones that I'd say meet your criteria without looking at kardamena are mastihari on the north coast and kefalos on the south coast - both within 20 minutes of the airport and both with s/c accommodation available independently. Of the two, our favourite is Kefalos, decent sand, sand/shingle beach and with paradise beach etc within 10 minutes drive. Lots of good restaurants, tavernas and bars to choose from without it feeling over developed and busy. The resort is a bit spread out along Kamari Bay but you can walk from say the start of the resort (airport end) to the harbour within 30 minutes on a good night - lots of bars and good eateries on the way.

If you put either of the two resorts into an internet search engine you will find dedicated web forums for both resorts with a lot of information on both.

Hello
Looking for advice please,

We are thinking of going to one of the Mitsis group hotels in kardemena and wondered if one wristband gains access to all hotels or is it strictly one wristband, one hotel?

Thanks in advance, any info much appreciated.

We stayed at the Mitsis Family Hotel in 2008. We could only use the wrist bands for that particular hotel for meals and the bar. However there was no problem using the other hotels's facilities such as the pool.

We had a great time at the Mitsis as I am sure you will. Have a great holiday

Thanks AndyHumph,
We stayed at the Mitsis Summer Palace for the last week in May. You are right, we had a great time, only downside was the one sided Champions League final! I would not hesitate to use any of the other hotels on site, the Blue Domes looks a bit special, especially the beachfront villas with their own pool, garden and beach hut! W1lls

Hi Everyone
We went to Tingaki last year and fancy Mastichari next year. I was looking around and came accross a site 'Greycat Company'. Has anyone used this company?
Thanks for any info
