showing 2.88 in Fethiye.
Sorry, I meant the bank rates, it just peaked at just over 2.9 then gone back down to 2.892 right now.
It is making for a cheaper holiday for us compared to last year even if it stays at around 2.7! x
Got rates of 2.18T/L & 2.19T/l out of atm,with a £1.50p fee each time
Got 2.35T/L in resort at exchanges, in September 2010.
July 2009 got 2.45T/L in July
So we are happy, but will get more if it rises.

Do all the ATM's charge a fee, I have a Santander debit card. I was only going to use it for emergencies really but worth knowing.
It's not always the ATM that charges, it's the bank so varies depending on who you are with. Check with your bank.
Darren
Santander is 1 of the worst debit cards to use, because of charges.
Spending penalty ------£1.25p
Load fee --------£2.75p
Cash withdrawal----------------1.5% -- £1.99p minimum
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Santander Credit card
----Spending-------....... -----Withdrawal Cash------
........Load......Fee..------.......Interest APR if paid in full..........
-----2.95%---3% min £3..---------27.9%---------------------
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
U/K Debit cards has August 2011.
---Load----------------- /--- Cash withdrawal fee ------------
...2.75% + £1.25p per ............1.5% / minimum of £1.99p

To read more into it go to moneysavingexpert.com or
travelmoneymax.com
This site is run by Martin Lewis, TV advice expert.
travelmoneymax.com is where I get the exchange rates from.
Don't buy a cash passport also, total rip off
Load fee 0f 2%, minimum charge £3
ATM fees £1.50p
Exchange rate given by atm, less than resort.
-----------------------------------------------
Example
Loaded £1,000 in sterling, charged 2% = £20
ATM fee everytime used, charged £1.50p
Exchange rates given, less than in resort ie
2.18 & 2.19 T/Lira given by ATM.
Resort rate 2.35T/L A total rip off.
Also if you don't use your card there is a annual fee.
-------------------------------------------------
You can load a cash passport up Free if you load up with
Euros, US$, Aus$, NZ$,S.Africa Rand.
But you still have the charges, & no good unless you are
going there.
You need to check the exact details of your account, as different accounts even from the same bank can vary. For example I've read that Santander Zero may actually be one of the best cards to use abroad.
Has Random Number says, this card is has follows :-
( Given to existing customers only )
No load fee ----------- / --- No cash withdrawal fee.---
.......................................................................
As I said earlier I am taking approx 1800 Lira and £400 Sterling. I think this should be enough for 2 weeks for my wife and I (total approx 2800 Lira = 200 Lira per day)
Although I will take my Santander debit card it will literally be for emergencies, for example if there is another ash cloud or we have to stay longer for any unexpected reason!!!
Failing that, I will just use it upon our return to England in the airport perhaps...
Anyways, back to the good news :- only 19 more sleeps to go
Cheers,
Justin.

It does seem to be settling just above the 2.9ish mark (bank rates)
Just had a e-mail to say 2.91 in finans bank,Turkey.
No commision, only thing is while you are queuing to change
some money, the exchange rates are changing all the time
in the bank.
So fingers crossed you will get a good rate in Turkey, & have
a good holiday.
