It's still rising, bank rates right now are 2.70!

My dilemma is that I go away in September but was thinking of taking £800 Stirling and exchanging it in Turkey but with such good rates right now, do you think I should exchange maybe £600 worth now or hold off?

I already have 400 Lira by the way.

M&S are giving 2.603 today!!

I have just e-mailed my contact in Marmaris to see what they are giving there - it was only 2.34 when we were there last year! Gonna make this years trip a little cheaper!!

just had answer back - most shops/restaurants/offices etc are giving 2.60 - banks are giving slightly more x

When you come to look at the table for the best exchange rates,the
main tour operators are never giving good rates.

We went in september last year,only got 2.35T/L to £ sterling,so
have been buying here in U/K,because we are going again in september.
Bought some yesterday online,going to order somemore now.

Just google it, I have never used them so cannot vouch for the service they offer.

Bank rates hit 2.76 today, so rates should be hitting 2.65+ in the next few days. This is a crazy rate really, might make it a tad cheaper over there for those who haven't already purchased currency!

Thursday I bought from Saga,free delivery I ordered 1,050T/L
cost £403.35p got it at the rate of 2.6032T/L.
Gone up today again,so has others,check your rates/ delivery
charges before ordering,try to buy a amount so you don't pay
delivery charges.
I have used Saga before no problem,also currency club.
The currency club were offering 2.644T/L to £ sterling on £500
& above up to £999, then 2.66T/L from £1,000 up.
You can make yourself a member,I have already had some this
year from them.
All currency ordered,delivered by Royal Mail,brilliant service.
I will look later on this morning at the exchange rates,& then order.

Went into M&S yesterday and got 1340Lira for £502.06 at a rate of 2.669 very happy with that.
Kept the rest of my spends to change over there in two weeks so hopefully it will stay the same or go higher.

Free pass,so I can jump on a train to Meadowhall,Sheffield,
no overheads.
I do have some being delivered on tuesday,from Saga.

Remember that if you plan to buy in store you will require a passport or driving licence. I made the mistake yesterday of not taking any I.D

Big mistake by Debenhams & no. 1 Currency on the internet exchange.
They had put selling at 2.995T/L to £ sterling, & buying back at 2.687T/L.
I saw that no 1 currency had a local shop, telephoned them,they said
the selling rate 2.687T/L.
So I went straight online ordered a dollop at 2.995T/L,got through all the
address & how much wanted,come to paying they had frozen it,the lady
at the shop had told the manager,who then had frozen the site for T/L.
I wish I had ordered off line instead of the shop.
I have spoken to one person who managed to get through & get 2.995T/L,
he is hoping they honour the transaction.

Bad news Yorkieborn, but looking on the bright side (always the optimist lol) we could be looking at an all-time high record at this rate... fingers crossed!

The no. 1 currency exchange company have backed out of the deal,
it must be in tiny writing in the contract to buy.
