I wonder if someone can give me some advice? We are a family looking to go to Turkey the first two weeks of July 2012. I have threee children aged 8,10 and 16 and I am taking two of my 16 year olds friends. WE have been to Marmaris which we enjoyed but only because it was October and we spent most of our time in Armutalan.
We also had friends in Icmeler which we loved. My problem is finding good, central accomodation in Icmeler (4* sc) which has a slide for the boys and entertainment some nights at least. I can only find this in Marmaris and we vowed we wouldn't go back especially in July. I would also worry about the girls in Marmaris as I know they will want to go out on thier own at some point.
WE have thought about Kusadasi but is there enough there for 3 "Marmaris-minded girls"?
Dilemmas...me and hubby just like nice meals and somewhere to wander at night with shops etc.
Stayed ay Club Anastasia in OCtober last year and had a brilliant time although we are not ones for joining in and having tattoos etc.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
i dont think you can go wrong with hissaronu, this resort has everything on offer from water parks a few night clubs and lovely resaurants, we also likrs marmaris but love hissaronu and ovaick a bit further away from the resort.
Why don't you have a look at Gumbet on the Bodrum Peninsula. It is smaller than Marmaris but has something to suit everyone. There are lively parts and quieter parts, plenty of restaurants, bars and shops and as it is a lot smaller than Marmaris you would be able to let the girls have a little wander on their own without worrying about them as much.
Thanks to both of you, I have had a look and both appeal. Maybe Gumbet more though. I like being near the sea.
The Babadan apartments are also very popular and has entertainment. They are also just off the main road.
Both have good reviews on Trip Advisor and there is lots of photos with each review.
Have you looked on Icmeleronline.com?
I have now Jaytrip:) I am looking at Palm Garden Apartments. Not the standard I would usually go for but there seems to be nothing of 4* in more central area. These have excellent reviews although the price is a bit worrying...very cheap
I am going next week to an apartment which will make a nice change from hotels.
As long as the reviews are good,I am not worried.
I am just looking forward to eating in all the fantastic restaurants. Have you seen the Gondol apartments?
They are above the Venice Restaurant on the canal and seem to be of a nice standard.
All the 4* seem to be up the back of the resort where the wasps are!!!
Anyway as long as its clean and comfortable we will be happy. WE love nice restaurants roo and know there are plenty to choose from in Icmeler and we discovered nice wine last time so I will be a happy lady. Can't wait now
I was stung by one on the beach last October but I will be taking all the precautions next week as i am staying in the village.
OOOh lucky you...welll have a great holiday and thanks for all your advice
if you havent already booked your hols then if you can book the gondol you will not be dissapointed the staff are all lovely friendly and most importantly genuine,it is in a fantastic position and the venice bar next door is lively and popular with great staff and food.We visit icmeler many times through the year as we have family over there and if we are asked by friends to recommend a hotel i always say the gondol without hesitation although rooms are limited and it can be quite difficult sometimes to book ,thomas cook deal with them and hand on heart i cant speak highly enough of olly, jimmy and the rest of the staff there.
