Argh....just been to our local retail park to browse for some new summer clothes. First stop was Next, where I found some shorts that I liked so picked up a 14 & 16 for fit, same with 2 pairs of linen trousers. First I tried on the 14, and got them on with a bit of a squeeze but then stopped breathing........So I try on the 16....I took them off without unfastening the buttons/zip!
Then onto the linen trousers, had 14 long & 16 long. 16 long too big and half mast, attempted to try on the 14 only to find I couldn't get them over my bum Looked at the tag and they were 12 regular (on a 14 long hanger). By now I'm getting rather warm in the changing room so out of the shop I go and try elsewhere....
Same palaver all over again, either too short in the leg or 14 too small/too big and 16 baggy.... After hours of patrolling round the shops, in and out of the changing rooms, clothes off, clothes back on, pick up jacket, handbag and countless hangers of clothes I eventually arrived home with one top
On line shopping the only way to go, you can try things on as many times as you want in the comfort of your own home
I hate clothes shopping and having to always try stuff on. I'm still wearing tops that I brought from UK when we moved here 9 years ago!!!
We get clothes from so many different countries here it's a nightmare. If I find a make and style of jeans that fit - I've cracked it, and I buy 2 pairs at a time!

I've often ordered online sometimes with great results, other times I've had to send the whole lot back

I do snoop round the supermarket clothes section as you can get some nice things at really reasonable prices. I struggle with jeans a lot as I need long length, the other week I found some nice fitting jeans from Asda. They were called something like ' bum and tum'. They have a high waist, (can't get away with low waist jeans as my spare tyres hang over the top) and the leg length just about made it. I've tried to get a back up pair since, but they haven't had my size in so far...:sulk
I could go to the M&S store (they're all franchises in Cyprus) and are ridiculous prices.
Each year for our birthday the company I work for give us a Debenhams gift card for €50 and up until last year we got one for €100 at Christmas so as my birthday is nearer to the end of each year, we used to go on a shopping spree in January. A couple of pairs of jeans each and a few tops. Whatever was left, we used to treat ourselves to something from the food hall....
Last year, my company had a change of heart and for Christmas each staff member got a voucher for a 1 night complimentary stay for 2 people on B+B in a seaview room at either the Annabelle or Almyra Hotel in Paphos.
We will be heading off to the Almyra soon enough so although I didn't get any new jeans this year, I will be having a nice breakfast in a hotel I would probably never think of booking myself.
Got a couple of tops too. Nothing flash & I'm not doing cartwheels with excitement, there just doesn't seem to be much around that appeals to me at the moment
