Is anyone else having to take lots of annual leave this month because they saved it all up for 'the cruise'?

I only took a week in summer and saved the rest for my trip in January (as advised on phone when I made my weekly attempt to sort things out) - I rang every week from August because I never even got a response to sending in the vouchers. Then I had to reschedule leave for March (as advised by phone again).

I wish I'd known to take these calls with a pinch of salt (and a slug of something else!).

How am I spending my leave (when not logged on to HT)? - Basking in the sun on my balcony? (yes I really do have one Phil - AND I'm above water.....if I close my eyes do I imagine I'm sailing in the Med? No, it's too cold and the water is a muddy tidal river where if I took a cruise along to the right (sorry starboard) I would arrive at the North Pole

Hi - I'm currently on leave taking a few days this and next week having saved leave for the cruise.

I have also tried to email Rise using the holiday truths link, but it doesn't seem to work. What happens is a website comes up saying I'm not authorised to view it. What am I doing wrong?

I think you may be right! In reality, was it just a figment of my imagination that I thought it was a £10 cruise for all?

I must have been on another planet to have thought that - or am I just being DE-RISive?

HI ALL,
Just an update to let people know that R*** were as good as their word and called me back for my decision.
The cruise I can have as offered will be only a Med cruise between Sept and Dec 2006. When I said that I wasn't happy with the offer of £175 it was increased to £200 no higher. No pressure but they will call back tomorrow morning. Any one else in the same situation, perhaps tomorrows offer will go higherif I accept ther & then

Never got my promised call back but not too despondent as thought I would treat myself and the dog on a cruise on the Union Canal to Asda tonight as the weather in Scotland is balmy.
So far the £10.00 cruise can be:
A week in Spain
£200.00 cheque
£1000.00 of vouchers
A cruise this year sharing with a stranger who maybe strange
A cruise in a year and a half if no hurricanes occur
A cruise this year with a variable costing upgrade
Have I missed out anything ?
Got to rush and get ready for our own little cruise

wow sounds as ifthey are trying to buy off people the list of options appear to be growing.it all makes interesting reading.stick at it .i hope you get your cruise.i never checkedif i got a single cabin i hope i dont get a shock its a bit late to chase that i reckon i would be waiting for ever to hear. carol.

I must have been very lucky getting a reply from the DE. However, I did point out to them and Rise Travel that it is not fair to keep pensioners waiting until 2006. (I'm a young 67- at least that's how I feel!) Just noticed I now have 3 stars.

Yesterday, I could not log on so have just read three entertaining pages.

A cheque for £175, or as all HT people know can be pushed to £200, is quite an interesting developement.

My friend and I have been allocated a cruise to the Med on 11/06/2005 but to date have received no further communication from Rise Travel whatsoever. We had the confirmation in December and knew nothing about any problems until we saw the Watchdog programme.

We have repeatedly rung the Helpline and left our details but haven't received a reply. We have no idea what would be the best course of action to take now.
We are two single women who can't normally afford to go away and think it is disgusting the way everyone is being treated.
For the Daily Express to have made this offer, enticing people to buy their newspaper with the lure of receiving a bargain holiday is unforgiveable.

We were so looking forward to this trip.

Can anyone who has managed perhaps to get through to Rise Travel/MKM Promotions and been successful in securing the holiday they were promised please offer any advice.
