It must be some thing to do with my e mail name or the fact that I'm a fella but I have still not had a reply from the Conrad and it must be 8/10 weeks now.
I obviously need some Pippy charm !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Off to the Canaries for 3 weeks again in 3 days time, gosh all these holidays are so tiring.
Will have to rely on you to get me some detail Pippy ready for my stay at the Conrad in December.
It cerytainly sounds like a fantastic place to stay from all the reports.
Pippy, did you sent your e mail in English or Arabic perhaps thats the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going to the Canaries with First Choice they came up as the best deal again.
Gosh my tan is fading from Christmas it needs topping up urgently
Uuuum spose I could learn Arabic whilst in the Canaries then I could e mail the Conrad in their native language.
Me?
Understand Arabic?!
No, it was written in English
I can't remember what it was you were emailing them about
Enjoy your holiday
Do you spend all your time on here
I wanted to know if the Conrad has any "Gala Dinners" arranged for Christmas and New Year like most other Hotels have, simple question but they failed to answer
Like I say I need the Pippy charm

Maybe thats where you are going wrong??????
I have a few contacts who are excellent at expressing complaints and getting results
Mind you......you are asking about an event during a Christian festival in a muslim Country........and you really expect a reply??? In ANY language?
Besides Christmas is now so commercial. religion doesn't seem to matter anymore...........but then it depends who you are
Just be thankful you can get pissed and tanned at any time of year
Complain, complain, what have I got to complain about, nah deffinitely did not complain to the Conrad have no reason to yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
All I did was ask a simple question, does it matter whether I asked this question of a Muslim in a Muslim Country or a Christian in a Muslim Country or an aithiest in a Muslim Country makes no difference at all to the answer.
As a matter of fact I dislike Christmas mainly because of all the commercialism that surrounds it these days "MONEY MONEY MONEY" having said that I am also a complete non believer in any religeous faith what so ever and do not by any stretch of the imagination celebrate Christmas because it is supposed to be the birthday of Jesus Christ.
My question about "Gala" dinners was asked because I just happened to notice that a large number of other hotels in that same Muslim Country do have "Gala" dinners for both Christmas and New Year. My question had nothing what so ever to do with religious faiths.
Be gratefull I can get drunk and tanned at any time of year, I am, be assured eternally gratefull that I am able to go in search of the sun shine all year round, be assured I make the most of it and try and top up my tan as often as I can.
But then it depends on who I am, why?
Steve
Most large hotels will offer a Gala meal, almost certainly on New Years Eve if not on Christmas day. We had a wicked one last New Year at The Hilton in Nuweiba, which is obviously the same group as the Conrad. Different management company though so cant be certain they will do it too.
Theres a whole bunch of us that post on this forum, including "Ms Efficiency" herself, Pippy , who are going to The Conrad over this summer. I'm sure one of us will remember to ask about Gala meals for you and report back.
Regards,
Roger.
Thanks for the offer, could you please ask the question for me then I would be very grateful.
PS Be careful when you ask i.e. Asking a Muslim in a Muslim Country and all that twaddle
Steve
Only 24 hours to go and Ill be back on the beach topping up the tan
Hi Shackyl, how many of you are going Was wondering if you or anybody else had read the report from caveman, saying he`s just comeback from the conrad. He has some interesting observations on building work and how the all inclusive will work. Hope we have nothing to worry about.
Seems i hit a sore point about "Religion" there Steve/The trainer
Hope you enjoy your Trip over there
A friend of mine has recommended the massage's over there.
Enjoy!!!!!!!
There are 8 of us going, 2 couples and 4 friends - (2 women and 2 men - although they're not together) .... Aged between 19 and 33. How many of you are there?
I have just read the review from Caveman and although it's not brilliant news, I dont mind too much and I don't think it will be ruining my holiday...... :-)
I'm still really looking forward to it... a couple of our friends fly out 2 weeks before we go, so I'm sure I'll receive the updates when they get there!
Back to Conrad, we had a good stay there. Lovely weather, very hospitable staff, nice beach, OK food. The bad bits as I said were SES airport and not enough English at the moment (which will change when FC get the new rooms)
Does anyone know whether the building work will still be going on when we go to the conrad this summer ????
I wouldn't worry, as I said I wasn't aware of the demolition of the villas that pave the way for the new rooms. There was barely any noise from the "pneumatic knock down gear" and construction will not make any noise, plus it is in an area to the front left of reception, currently well away from any of the facilities. That is except the disco, which won't be used during the day - come to think of it, no-one used it of a night.
I'm a new member & have read all your entries with interest. We are going to the Conrad in June, our first trip to Egypt. Can anyone advise which would be the best currency to take with us?

Hi Mazzy
Thanks very much Pippy, that was extremely helpful. What a great way to get answers to all the small but important questions & what a fab site !
Just wondering if anyone who's stayed at the Conrad can tell me what the air conditioning is like? Went to Turkey on holiday last year and the hotels air conditioning was horrendous - couldn't sleep because of the heat I actually looked forward to getting some cold scottish air!
I know there is a thread on Insurance on the Discussion Forum - but what may be of interest is that there are companies that class Egypt as Europe I have comfirmed with http://www.atlasdirect.net and a basic 2 week cover costs around £25 per couple

SWISS you are a STAR!!!! I have been petrified ever since booking into the Coral Sea HALF BUILT Resort! Being such a chicken and not wanting to sleep in a roofless-dusty-teething problems maybe/maybe not new hotel i have changed my booking to stay at the Conrad!! Im so happy that i have made the right choice!
I arrive with boyfriend 7/7/5 flying from Gatwick and I CANNOT WAIT!!!!
Thanks for the pics, they have put my mind at rest.
Now.... Vaccinations??? What do we need?
And what currency should i be taking?
Only one more question.... do i get the drift when we are paying for AI its not actually AI. So spirits are not included in that and neither is eating in the Fish or Italian Restaurants is that right??
Many thanks to everyone that has helped with the info. Its great to know that im not the only worrying traveller out there!!!!!
Anyone staying there at the same time as us... We will have to share a few bevs!!!!
