Hola,
My neighbourd have been looking at nerja, but one of them has walking difficulties with hills, would it be a mistake to go to this resort and if so any other resorts that would be suitable in the costa del sol area
Fuengirola/Los Boliches are very flat with the beach just across the road, Los Boliches is quieter and even someone with mobility problems can take their time and walk 'along the prom'. There are benches all the way along so you take a break when you get tired. Personally I would recommend this rather than Nerja, your neighbours could always go on a day trip to Nerja couldn't they? It is a lovely town and worth a visit.
Thanks babs info appreciated
Ayo was one of three local boys (he's probably now in his 50's) who discovered the caves which tourists now flock to. His paella is supposed to be the best on the C del Sol.
has anyone been out to the costa del sol with first choice? i am about to go out and start working for them at the end of june and know nothing about the area at the moment so am after as much info as possible!
Hi
Yes, there are quite a few Internet Cafe's, one is a large one about 5 minutes walk from Balcon de Europe.
Alot of hotels also have a coin in the slot internet connection
Thanks Laurie, we'll be sure to check him out!
My partner and i are hoping to go to Nerja in September, finding it hard to get a cheap package, travel agents told us to book apartments and flights seperate as you can get a better deal that way. Never done this before and was wondering if any one has and if its ok. It will mean we will have to find our own way from airport to Nerja sure there will be lots of taxis at airport. Any idea of cost? Is there a bus service to Nerja from airport or would we have to go into Malaga for that? One last thing we were looking at the Apartments Las Rosas look lovely any one been there cant find a web site for it or any reviews, wondered where abouts it is. Any help would be appreciated thank you
Can anyone recommend places to eat and drink in Nerja.
Ayo's at lunch times on the Burriana Beach for paella. Never had a bad meal in Nerja and have visited many times - spanning 27 years!
You won't be disappointed, the apartments are very clean and the grounds are very pretty. There are two pools to choose from, the one with the bar being the most popular! The food at the snack bar is great for burgers etc, and there toasties are yummy and very reasonable. The reception staff are very nice and the family who run the snack bar are great too.
One word of caution, and don't let this worry you, you will be told to make sure you lock your doors/windows when you are out of the apartment as last year there were opportunist theives loitering about. The family a few doors along from us had left their apartment for only minutes while they collected things from the pool area and two youths had jumped the wall and took mobile phones, cash and a walkman. If you are on the ground floor you have a high gate which locks and we kept this locked at all times. Crime happens everywhere and these thieves were obviously targeting holiday makers, so just be aware. The police arrived very quickly and put cars out to look for them, tho' they weren't hopeful of catching them.
We have booked this years holiday ourselves, flying with easyjet (for the first time). We always hire a car on holiday, and we are collecting from the airport using Carjet (for the first time too)! I did have a link to Las Rosas but when I checked the page has been removed, so can't help you there. The apartments are located near Capistrano and close to The Nerja Club Hotel. There is a Supersol supermarket within very easy walking distance, literally at the bottom of the road. Going back up from the supermarket is uphill, but not too bad.....unless your carrying bottles of water! Las Rosas is directly opposite a sports stadium and there is a block of restaurants (can't remember the name of the complex), but there is The Sportsman Pub which does nice food. Also there is a greek restaurant, chippy and a few others, so you have a variety onhand. We did go into Nerja most nights for food as there is so much choice around the Balcon de Europe and the atmosphere is great.
All in all, we had a terrific holiday, Nerja is very pretty and we found the people very friendly. We would stay at Las Rosas again, the pool and gardens were very nice.
My partner and I are hoping to return to Nerja in September been to a few travel agents and they have recomended to book accomodation and flight seperatly as it works out cheaper! Always done package trips before but its proving difficult for the dates we want to go. Any advice from anyone who has done it this way, i presume there will be lots of taxis at airport any idea of cost. Couple of apartments that are available are El Capistrano village and Apartments Las Rosas cant seem to find any reviews or web sites, if any one has stayed there and can give me an idea where in the resort they are, any help would be appreciated before i book thanks.
My husband and I stayed at El Capistrano several years ago. They were set on high ground towards the back of the resort but the area may have changed since then as there were large areas of bare ground which are probably covered with more apartments. I remember it being quite a walk to the beach from there and there was also no air conditioning. If it's self catering you're looking for then there are plenty of hotels on the Alpharooms website that would do just bed and breakfast. Just Google Capistrano Nerja reviews and you should find some websites with the info you want - Real Holiday Reports being one of them. Hope this helps..
I always book flights and apartments seperately. I have just booked flights with Monarch scheduled from Luton together with an apartment at Benalmadena which I found on the internet at a total cost of £159.50 each for a week for my wife and myself. Taxis are plentiful at Malaga airport and there are also trains and buses to choose from although the train would be of no use for Nerja. Feed your destination and accomodation into a search engine and you will find numerous apartments, hotels etc.
Thanks for all your help, which apartments are you trying this time Sparkle? Still cant make up our minds, had a look at Capistrano village looks lovely just a bit worried about being too far out of town. Is it on the same side of the road as Nerja club hotel or opposite? Walking is no probs as my partner and i are in our thirtys and when we were there in April in the Mediterraneo apartments we used to walk every evening over to Burriani and around that area. When you look at the map Nerja is quite a compact place really so nowhere is that far. Enjoy your holiday Sparkle you cant go wrong going to Nerja such a lovely place.
Capistrano is on the opposite side of the road to Nerja Club (on the road out of town a little way out past Supersol). Nerja is very compact and you will have no trouble at whichever apartment you decide. We are staying near Burriana Beach this time, the apartments look lovely on the web. The forcast is hot hot hot and I can't wait, just days to go now! When are you off?
