I'm amazed to read that readers prefer to beleive FC rather than the posts of other forum members.

Hi Caveman

I have dealt with the Conrad itself if ive had any queries as you tend to be fobbed off by travel companies , but AI has not started yet at the Conrad so were all in limbo until the start of May when some forum members will go on the new AI package and see exactly what is and isnt included.

It was me that said in the first place that we would have to see how the Conrad would operate with the new AI package.
I am referring to the recent post that said that the Conrad was to continue with the entertainment it has used on it's HB / B&B board. I was not on my own as assessing it as poor as fewer than 20 people watched it nightly. The belly dancers repeated their 25 minute show 3 nights a week and the Nuweibi dancers theirs twice.
If they are to continue with them I fail to see how anyone will be impressed, except by getting bladdered on the free booze.

Hi Caveman

Ok i see what you mean ill be honest i think most hotel entertainment is guff maybe its my age but i dont stick about a hotel after 10pm.
Its a shame because alot of the entertainers work hard in some hotels but i suppose it comes down to what budget they can work with and also from what ive read on this forum what nationallity there aiming at wheather it will be in English which would help.
I really dont bother with entertainment but its needed if the hotel is not situated near the town or you have children its alright me wanting to go into town everynight but that will not suit others who might want to relax in the hotel some nights. Hopefully this problem will be rectified with the Ai package.

When I was there in March there were very few English there. Most of them went into Naama Bay of an evening. The Italians who accounted for 150+ of the guests had their own bar and entertainment / animation team, and they seemed to have a wow of a time. As it was early season the evenings were cool and there was no other bar but the main reception bar, where the entertainment took place. I would hope as the season develops, we can sit outside by the pool and enjoy a drink and a chat.
The irony was that if they had better entertainment then, they would have sold more drinks. Now is the time for the belly dancers, now they're giving the stuff away.
I shall have to reserve overall judgement on Egyptian type entertainment, as I am off to the new Coral Sea resort along the road in October and see what they have to offer.

In my experience, all entertainment in AI hotels, not just in Egypt, can be described with the term implied by Caveman in an earlier post.

I suppose it's not surprising when you think how little of our payment is left, after the T/O has taken their cut, for the hotel to feed us, supply us with copius amounts of alcohol, clean our rooms and pay wages.

We still keep going back for more though!

Actually Roger, A I hotels should provide superb highly entertaining entertainment as well as plentiful free transportation into Naama.... as a hotelier it works out more cost effective as guests tend to drink much less.

Perhaps you'd like to convey that information to The Conrad, Swiss? I'd love to be chauffered into Naama Bay every night for free, and with fuel at 45p per gallon, maybe they will listen to you? :yipee

It will be a pleasant surprise if their entertainment turns out to be anything better than the "norm" but, I dont sink so!

8) hi all have you seen the latest write up on the conrad, it's posted on the original hotel description page. rooms seem to be a big issue with people, saying they are tired looking. counting down the weeks till we have to pay the balance, then it's only weeks then, looking forward to august. i have also been corisponding the the conrad, and had been rreasured regarding drinks etc. :glynis

Hi Doddy :D

Yes I've noticed there's an issue regarding the rooms, but I'm not intending on spending too much time in mine so am not terribly concerned about it :D

Beach, beach, beach, snorkel, snorkel, snorkel, pool, pool, pool....that's my two weeks sorted!

Oh and a day out with Swiss of course :D

Will you try and meet Swiss too Doddy?

He seems like a great guy, so helpful, and lots of HT members have met him :D

:P hi pippy, it would be great to meet us with swiss, i wonder though whats in his pipe he's smoking, hope it's not our free spirits, you sound like us we won't be spending much time in the room, it sun bed, bar, pool, beach, snorkle maybe, bar again finished by sun bed. hope the bed's are comfy, my husband is a sun god. he will be the one out there moving his bed to follow the sun, our friend who's going doesn't like the sun or heat so she will be the one indoors. it feels like we all know the place so well already, cant wait. 8) 8)

So you've seen the picture of Swiss in his nightdress in the Rambling thread then?!

Dose your friend realise what the temp is likely to be at that time of year? :?

 yes she's well aware it's 40 degrees plus, she doesn't mind as long as she's not expected to sit in it.

Hey pippy!

The link you posted for the red sea riviera - if you looked at the photos for the conrad the picture of the room has been changed -

Perhaps its cuz people have said they looked "tired"

Are these photos of the superior rooms some people have paid for :?:

When we booked there were only sea view rooms left and we paid an extra £3 per night but there were rooms that you could pay an extra £6 per night for.

14 weeks to go for us !!! :sun

Cant wait now !!!!
