Going back to the newspaper report about the motorbike accidents, we have had two very scary incidents on scooters in goa luckly we are still here to tell the tale.

We saw a few whilst we were there but weren't actually involved in any (though I am not really sure why - several times we closed our eyes and prayed!) - this was one we passed:-

In November last year there was this guy sitting in Ruffles bar with a Brazil shirt on slumped in the chair holding crutches. After about 30 mins I wanted to ask him what he had done. He said he was speeding and went to overtake a bus when a truck appeared in front of him. He said he had to make a decision whether to hit the truck and die or to pull the bike down to his left hitting the bus and hopefully avoiding a collision with the truck. He went down with the bike and ended up under the bus who braked sharply and the guy ended up under the bus for 4 hours. He just about survived.

Scary things..........

The first year we went to Goa we were swimming in the sea and my partner felt something on his arm , he lifted it and saw that a snake had wrapped itself around it - needless to say he screamed and chucked it as far as he could. He was lucky not to have been bitten 'cos they're poisonous!
We have seen quite a few sea snakes since that first visit, a least once a
year, although they are usually washed ashore and dead.

There was a massive spider in our room last week (I didn't look at it but it made Jon jump, and he's not usually bothered by them).

And that cyclone that hit Goa on Wednesday night was pretty scary. The lightning we could deal with but when sunbeds started flying through the air and palm trees were snapping on the ground it was time to run!!!!

After visiting Goa I now know that everything is scary in a fun kind of way, The way they drive, the lack of pavements, No health & safty, the cows and dogs just wondering in front of the traffic and of course the time sale guys who seem to breed like rabbits and are on every corner. :omg

But at the end of the day who gives a s*** Goa is still GREAT

while in calangute this april i was bitten by a king copra :omg

but unfortunately it died while i was taking it to hospital :lol:

been to quite a lot of places around the world and the (men) do seem to hold hands alot ! blame religion for that but thats another story that could go on for ever so please dont respond to it!

I found it quite sweet to see them holding hands, girl friends hold hands or link arms, its nice to see men showing affection for each other. But on saying that cant see my hubby and Peterji strolling down the beach holding hands :rofl
