Read your review shackyl, think you have covered nearly everything. Eight of us went and seven of us had bad stomachs my sugestion would be to get to the pharmacy as soon possible as the tablets really work fast. We went on three trips ( Quad biking, Tiran, and Ras mohamed ) we booked this on the beach it cost £40 for adults £20 for children and they didn't charge for the 2 youngest kids, the Quad biking was fantastic and the food on the boat was great. We had no problems at the airport at all and the first choice rep was telling people they didn't need visa if staying in Sharm only. We had a great holiday and the snorkeling was fantastic even saw a turtle. Staff at the hotel were great especially with the kids Ali in the health club was great with them. Think the hotels food and entertainment will get better as time goes on they have just gone all inclusive and are not sure what food to give us or what entertainment the english like. They did want sugestions and comments so they could get things right so things will improve . Will answer any questions if i can.

I know there will be a few of you at the Conrad at the same time as me, but I've lost track of who you are!

So who will be at the Conrad at some point between July 28th and August 11th?
Will you have kids/husbands/wives/partners/mums/dads with you?

There will be six of us, hub and I, my Mum, my Son aged 16, my Daughter aged 14 and my Daughter's friend aged 14.

Would any of you fancy getting together one evening?
If so perhaps we could arrange an evening here in case we don't manage to catch up with each other at the hotel.

hi could anyone help me, we are going to conrad and although i know the hotel has an atm machine in it, does anyone know if it takes the usual english bank cards, mine are accepted in spain etc but don't want to get there and find can't use them, want to take english money as exchange is better, but don't want to carry all our money in wallet, etc from uk. many thanks

My hubby did one try dive with sinai divers, he's an Advanced open water diver, he said it was ok although the signals they used was different to the padi ones he was used to. I got the impression that they were mainly used to diving with germans/italian guests and with more experienced divers, some of the staff there seemed a bit abrupt but maybe it was a language problem. We both tried out aquarius dive school (based at the sheraton hotel) which is the dive school recommended by the FC reps. I got in one dive before an ear infection ruled me out for the rest of the holiday , hubby did a wreck speciality course and several boat dives to tiran and Ras Mohammad and house reef dives from the sheraton. We both found aquarius very good and included in the cost was pick ups from the conrad to the dive centre. There were people staying at the conrad who were doing open water courses and their instructor was an english guy. All the staff we spoke to spoke really good english. Would definately recommend them.:tup

On my second to last day my ears finally recovered so I could do some house reef snorkelling. The best time to visit the jetty is first thing in morning, lunchtime or about 4-5pm as it's not as busy. The early evening is the best as the sun is not so hot, just snorkelling from the house reef I saw lion fish, groupers, triggerfish, parrotfish and a huge moray eel swimming about!!! It was amazing and I only wish I'd been well enough to do it more.

Thanks Josflat. I am out of circulation for diving but my wife and brother- in- law are both qualified. Youngest son who is 11 willl be doing his checkout dives all ging well with his exams next week. Will keep your comments in mind.

Yes there are ATM machines at the hotel and many of our group used normal bank cards no problem, so you should be fine!

Do you know if any of your group used a switch card to withdraw money it does have the cirrus mark but everyone else seems to use mastercards or visas ??

Your quote above sound just like my lot, same airport, same day, same glaikit weans. Hubby and me, aunt, uncle and 2 kids (11,7). Only 23 days to go, we head down to London on the wednesday. Cant wait

We are from Scotland too, it will glad we will hear some familiar accents:-) Friends of ours from Irvine will be there at the same time too! It's good to see that not being able to fly from Scotland hasn't stopped people:-)

We are leaving from Edinburgh on 6th and staying at a hotel in Gatwick overnight.

Just in time for us leaving, Tony, Bob and some religious leaders have invited the world to decend upon Edinburgh. Hopefuly we will make the flight for 8.50pm !! Will need to start walking soon !!

There will be five of us me and 4 weans, 2 of them in their 40's !! and a 13 year old and an 11 year old

Can hardly wait to get there and get in the sea to do some snorkelling and some diving

How does the Poolside and Beach bar measure up for say - lunchtime snacky things like burger n chips and litebites , or have you to go back inside for lunch

Gordon, If you think youcan get burger and chips. Your in for a shock. You wont get that anywhere.No food at lunchtime by poolside bar.
