There is entertainment 2 or 3 days a week and that can go on till late 1.0am or longer sometimes. The bar likewise depends on the amount of people drinking.
Hope this helps
SteveM
Thanks for that steve.
I have stayed ther for the last 3 years and back againg this year. SteveM and his family on this site stay there, nice people. The bar opens October 1st and closes April 30th if you have the money to keep it going.
The sun is on the pool more or less until sunset although you do have to move around to stay in it.
Food is good but you can eat better in any of the local restaurants and the drinks are expensive relative to local bars but not expensive in the big scheme of things.
I have written a review on this hotel in the Review section and I'm sure others have too.
I think the hotel is the best value for money in Candolim, would certainly recommend it and plan on staying there many more times.
Great location, great people, clean, tidy but remember this isn;t the Hyde Park Hilton, its a 3 star in India (come to think of it it might be a 2 star plus).
Just read reviews by visitors to Prazeres hotel in Candolim that hotel has unbearably noisy bar and ongoing water problems!!!! Great .I am going there Saturday with First Choice. Has anybody stayed there recently and also what are first choice flights like?
The rooms located immediately over the bar can occasionally get noisey but this rarely happens and even more rarely late in the evening.
If anything this hotel is in one of the quieter locations in the resort of Candolim!!
I know absolutley nothing about water problems and I've stayed there a lot - not yet this year though. Could whoever have written the review not have realised that there is a water heater in the room that you have to turn on to get hot water?
First Choice flights I have always found to be good. The cattle class is about the best cattle class I have travelled. The upgrade seats are superb although it can sometimes be difficult to get a drink as they are free. No problems in economy where you have to pay though.
Take no notice of the review, you'll have a great time and if you have any problems at all wit the hotel, tell the management and they will sort it, for sure.
Please pop into Johnny's Bar opposite the hotel (good cheap food) and say Cliff says hi to Johnny, I'll see him in March.
We were at the Prazeres for 2 weeks in October and had no problems with either water or noise. There was one night with a few late drinkers at the bar who were excited to be in Goa but we have been there 13 weeks in the last 2 years and have had very few problems. The Prazeres is an excellent choice of hotel for anybody that goes to North Goa!

Thank you all so much for answering so promptly. These 2 reviews I saw were on tripadvisor and dated last week!! However I have calmed down and Im sure Ill have a lovely time.Fritz I will pass on your message. and will leave a review when I return Thanks again

I was just wondering if any of you out there have ever stayed at private apartment IF5 at the Prazeres resort. If any one has i just wondered if they had any complaints? We had loads the main one being the constant banging all night and day from the swing door to the cloakroom directly below where the apartment has been built. We paid a lot of money to rent the two bed apartment owned by an English couple and it was the noisiest place we have ever stayed. The manager of the hotel complex in which the apartment is built is the most rudest ignorant person i have ever come across. We double checked with the owner before we went to ask if the apartment was noisy and were told there was live music and some chatter from the bar but it only happened maybe twice a week and stopped about midnight, what they don`t tell you is the disco music is on until 3 in the morning and guests at the hotel are allowed to play ear splitting music in their rooms the rest of the time. When the music finnishes you have dogs from the house next door constantly barking and constantly pregnant. We were supposed to have the apartment cleaned and fresh linen and towels twice a week we got them once in two weeks. We had one pillow per person so bought our own. It was supposed to be home fron home. No bedisde lights, no cushions, one two seater for four, one mini grill and two rings that are impossible to do anything with and a constant stream of hotel guests climbing the stairs to what is supposed to be a private area to nosy around.
sue.
I'm sorry you experienced problems at the Prazeres.
I know it's probably of little comfort but I regularly stay at this hotel and I know the very apartment that you are talking about although I have never stayed in it.
I can honestly say that I have never experienced any of the problems that you have detailed and always found the staff very helpful.
Try not to let this bad experience put you off the Prazeres.
Did you try Johhny's Bar across the road from the hotel, if so is Johnny keeping well?
I have just arrived back from Prazeres and experienced the same problems. The noise was horrific at night and I could not recommend this hotel. The bar manager was a prat and no help at all. I would not go back!
When we have stayed at prazeres we have always asked for rooms away from the bar and had no problems with the noise. However i do know ppl that have stayed around the bar area and they have also said its a nightmare.
I have just returned from the Prazeres and it was awfully noisy at night!!!The rooms and room boys cannot be faulted as the rooms are very clean and the pool is lovely but ohh the noise at night was awful even after moving rooms we could not sleep as the bar manager seems to think the louder the better and one night they played a Manchester united game on the tele at full blast at 3.30 in the morning!!It was a regular occurance to hear music way after 2am so I could not recommend this hotel. However we had a fabulous holiday and spent part of our time up in the north on idyllic beaches so would definitely recommend Goa.
I was there in Nov and it was exactly the same. From what I can gather it is a new problem this year. It seemed to me that it is merely a matter of management not enforcing restrictions on drinking and music in order to keep money coming into the bar. The frontline staff are great though and its a pity they tend to get the stick for bad management
hi does anyone know an email address for this hotel cheers wendy
