hi larry i would take a guess and say that first choice have had loads of complaints and are taking the easy option.as we dont go till august and looking at the latest photos i (fingers crossed) would say that the main structures will be complete.we are sticking with lobos
hi hunter new photo,s on their way
Back from a great weeks holiday with some news for you all.
The lobos is a building site and they will be lucky if its finished within the next month.
The resort is great good food, good beaches.Goto flag beach up near the 2 hotels the day there was the most fun i ve had in the sea , and a fantastic beach just beware of the mainly german nudists showig off their frankfurters and sour krauts.
The oasis dunas hotel was basically like i had read.Good complex,a few ignorant staff , rooms like clay ovens with really crap locks on the doors.we got put in the older(block B) Rotting wooden doors and windows all the other blocks had new ones. You have to pay to even get picture on the telly. It was a choice of been eaten alive by mozzies or baking. We baked after 2 nights of been eaten.Good pool ,but spent most time down beach.Would deffo go again to this resort but would not stay at the oasis.

p.s stay clear of asian camera shops. Not all as it seems.
Thanks for the report jrev its gone along way to make up my mind and i will be giving the lobos a miss
hope you get sorted and have a good holiday
Interesting reading from jrea that the Lobos is still a building site. To-day Panorama have assured me that these appartments will open by next Saturday 9th and it will be fine to go to the Lobos. I wish now that i should have cancelled this holiday. Can anyone offer me reassurance??
jo
have you seen the recent photo,s ? as said previously it is the gym/sauna and reception areas that are being rebuilt the apartments are ok and the blocks nearest the work at the back are closed.also i believe from another site that the work at the front is a fair distance away from the pool,s.if your still worried do as glynis said and take the safe and sound brochure with you and know your rights.or do as we intend to and just use lobos as somewhere too sleep and change.no building works are going too spoil my holiday
if you go to the website http://www.sunnyfuerteventura.com they have some new photo,s on there
I have just received a letter saying that there is building work going on till October 2005 and i am worried that the place will be like a bomb site.
If anybody has been and experienced any problems could you please post a reply.
behind it.
To be honest it was that bad it didn't look like anyone was actually in it on holiday(at least I would be surprised if they were)
regards peak ta
hi leah there is a thread already on this topic.have you read it ?i got some new photo,s today and the reception is complete now.when do you go ? we go aug 24th and hopefully most of the works at the front will be done.the work at the back is for 26 new apartments and the management at lobos have closed the blocks nearest to them.also the lobos apartments are ok and the works going on is at the front.hope this helps s the lobos was closed till june 29th should be open now.if your still not sure try this website for more info
I'm off to Fuerteventura tomorrow and i will not be staying at Lobos Bahia.
I've been ofered alternative accomadation and i have accepted the offer. I did not want to look at a partician wall which has been erected to block out the building works as i have been told the lobos will be opened. I intend to have a good holiday now and i will report back on my return from the sun in 2 weeks.

Sorry to scare you all in my report . I had a quick look at lobos half way through my week there and it did not look good.
To verify my findings I asked the main airtours rep on the morning of my departure about the situation.
His Reply - 29 july - their is a meeting today to get a date for opening but I go through every day and unless they work not like the spanish normally do i can not see it finished within the next month , its a building site at the moment.
thanks for that jrev.do you live in fuerteventura or on holiday there ? we go on the 24th august do you think the works will be done by then ?
I've booked with First Choice and they've written to me setting out all the various building works going on at the moment and their respective completion dates. No offer of a refund or accomodation change, however. Meant to be going in September, not sure what to do.
i have a few photo,s the most recent showing the reception area is complete.if yo want them i will need your email address.also take a look at the website sunnyfuerteventura.com and fuerteventura.com there are some photo,s and a thread on the last web site about lobos.if you need any more info let me know
you can email from this site
correction from last post 29th june not july.
No i dont live their I live in Hull , just had a weeks holiday there but found this site when they changed my hotel from lobos to oasis duna.Wanted to make sure travel company was telling truth.
I am sure it will definitely be finished by august as the impression i got was the travel companies are putting an awful lot of pressure on hotel owners to get it completed.

Hi rosanna we were meant to be going in august. after nagging the first choice shop about updates on the building works they agreed to give me a full refund but never any updates apart from the letter which you have just got. hope you get sorted and have a great holiday.
http://www.sunnyfuerteventura.com for anybody whose interested.also on http://www.fuerteventura.com go to the public forum under the heading corralejo then look for the thread titled "lobos bahia building work" theres a comment on there as well the comments say the reception area is nearly complete and they are planting trees at the front too.
thanks for the clarification jtrev
couple of new photo,s and a comment on thanks for the clarification jtrev
I have just looked at some of your comments, and i can say that i am shocked, i went here last year and i thought it was fantastic!
Brill...the pool was nice, the rooms were ok, friendly staff and good entertainment, the only thing which it down was the kitchen in the room, it was very basic seen as it was a self catered holiday
other than that i loved it, as i am very fussy upon where i stay
