We had ours recently, the ones you had plus Diptheria and Typhoid.

We were told that the only way to have the Diptheris vaccination was in a triple with Polio and Tetanus, as they don't issue it alone! Seems crazy if you're up to date on Polio and Tetanus, but there was no choice so we had the lot.

Think Hep A requires a booster within 6 to 12 months and then you're covered for life.

You'll need to check!

Hi,

Just to give you the other end of the spectrum, they are only voluntary, not compulsory.

We didn't have any when we went in May. I'm not suggested you do the same, just advising you that you don't HAVE to have them.

Hi had mine yesterday and the nurse recommended Typhoid and Hepititis A. Unfortunately I was also behind on my Tetanus and had to have that aswell.

The above should all be free on the NHS - some private medical centre's will charge.

I have heard others say that malaria and yellow fever are required for certain areas.

I would definitaley contact your district nurse and see what they say.

I got my injections as above but we get charged a prescription charge for each item just as you would any other meds for docs. Different rules for differnet practises.

I was told that I did not need any injections for Egypt as was my mum, dad and sister. I wouldn't bother unless you feel it necessary.

myself and hubby had no injections for taba or sharm - was never mentioned so dont think you need them for sinia

What jabs are needed?? Are they optional, not long back from Morocco and those jabs where optional.

See HERE for official advice.
You should check with YOUR OWN doctor though.

Did anyone else experience cold like symptoms after their jabs? Had mine last Friday and started getting a sore throat from about Sunday - got a full blown cold now.

:yuck
May just be coincidence as my practice nurse said there'd be no side affects (apart from sore arms)!

We are off to the Conrade ( 2 adults & 2 children) next week. We have had all the nessecary injections, did anyone take the Malaria medication? Do we need it? Was told as there are no swamps, malaria will not be a problem. Were mosquitos a problem and do we need to take lots of insect repellent when going out at night?

Many thanks
