Does anyone know what injections are required for Red Sea? I got vaccinations last year to go to Cuba, including hepatitis, polio and tetanus so I'm assuming these would be ok for this year?
Thanks.
We were told that the only way to have the Diptheris vaccination was in a triple with Polio and Tetanus, as they don't issue it alone! Seems crazy if you're up to date on Polio and Tetanus, but there was no choice so we had the lot.
Think Hep A requires a booster within 6 to 12 months and then you're covered for life.
You'll need to check!
thanks bellaoz, I'll get in touch with my doc.
Just to give you the other end of the spectrum, they are only voluntary, not compulsory.
We didn't have any when we went in May. I'm not suggested you do the same, just advising you that you don't HAVE to have them.

Could anyone let me know what vaccinations if any are needed when travelling to egypt.we are travelling on the 8th Sep.
I am struggling to get into a doctors and someone has quoted £120. Do you need them.
Sorry I could not see this topic anywhere
The above should all be free on the NHS - some private medical centre's will charge.
I have heard others say that malaria and yellow fever are required for certain areas.
I would definitaley contact your district nurse and see what they say.
I got my injections as above but we get charged a prescription charge for each item just as you would any other meds for docs. Different rules for differnet practises.
Help I cannot get in with my doctor for injectinos so will have to pay £120 would ou recommend I do this or go without the injections
I was told that I did not need any injections for Egypt as was my mum, dad and sister. I wouldn't bother unless you feel it necessary.
Has anyone had the homeopathic treatment instead of vaccination?
Personally, no, went down the traditional medical route, didnt know there was another option.

myself and hubby had no injections for taba or sharm - was never mentioned so dont think you need them for sinia
May just be coincidence as my practice nurse said there'd be no side affects (apart from sore arms)!
We are off to the Conrade ( 2 adults & 2 children) next week. We have had all the nessecary injections, did anyone take the Malaria medication? Do we need it? Was told as there are no swamps, malaria will not be a problem. Were mosquitos a problem and do we need to take lots of insect repellent when going out at night?
