I don't know if you'll be logging in again before you leave but if you do, buy some ant powder!
We meant to buy some but forgot and there are ants on our balcony, not just little ants, ants with size 12 boots, ants which move as though they have rockets up their backsides!
We've been spraying insect repellant just around the patio door area which seems to be keeping them away, unfortunately I also seem to have removed some of the paint from the door frame (There's another member with an insect repellant sory but I'll leave that one to her ).
Still loving this hotel
So glad your having a ball...
Whats your opinion on the 'Superior' rooms... I know when we both booked 'years ago' there was very little in the price but now its hundreds of pounds difference
Debs said the 'Russian Singers' may have left - whats the entertainment like now ? Its not a big issue to us but nice to know what on.
Keep up the good work and E N J O Y your 2nd week.... thanks for the tip on the ant powder too.
Kind regards
Gordon
Not seen much of the entertainment but we have participated in has been fun. Miss Conrad competition one evening (I got a bit drunk with Yvonne, oh ok then, I think it was just me who was drunk ). We went down to the pool party last night, mainly for the kids but anyone can get in the pool, pool bar open (all. inc. til 23.00), disco, kids really enjoyed it and we swam in the lovely warm water for a little while too.
I love it here! I want to come again!
Good for you, thats what holidays are all about - thanks for the updated info - will leave you in peace to enjoy the delights of the Conrad..
Just a note to say first choice next year 2006 june when i go, me and my girlfriend have booked up 2 weeks all incluisve extra leg room and premium room with jacuzzi which are the room being built at the moment. i payed £746 each. not bad at all. and is the tempurture in june about 100 degrees in sun/shade?
Wonder if you ( or anyone else who might know ) could let me know what the fitness facility consists of? Is it quite limited?Do many people use it etc? I see it listed in the brochure but it doesnt say much or give pictures!!
Cheers

I am travelling to the Conrad on 18th August (can't wait!) in a party of nine - two mad families!!! I have learnt so much about what to expect, what to take, what to look out for etc..etc.. and now feel as though I am more prepared for this holiday than any other I have been on. As take off time draws nearer (flying from Manchester) all of us are getting more and more excited and are ready for sun, fun and relaxation - not that you get much with a party that includes five loud kids!! My eldest (13) is already preparing herself for the pool party on Tuesday nights. Mind you after a few Egyptian spirits us "oldies" may even be joining her. One thing I would like to know is wether inflatables are allowed in the pool as the kids have already got theirs packed !!!!
I found the site a great help too, and i'm am really glad to be able to offer some advice to others now that I have returned.
Inflatbles are allowed in the pool, my kids used their masks an snorkels also. At the beach there are some buckets and spades that kids can use and return, which I thought was a nice touch.
Dont worry too much about getting beds at the pool. If people are putting towels down very early in the morning and not using them the pool attendant will remove them for you and sort you out for beds. We pretty much used the beach for the first week because we couldnt get beds at 10am even though loads weren't being used. Im not sure if someone had complained to the rep or what, but have a word and he'll fix you up.
Enjoy, MrsMac
The kids will now be more than happy!!
We're all looking forward to this holiday SO much. It sounds like a fantastic place and reviews about the hotel are extreemly positive. With having three children we booked (very reasonably through Eclipse) two rooms with sea view etc..I have also emailed the hotel to request inter-connecting rooms. Has anybody stayed in these rooms or can give any information? We are also planning to visit Ciaro and the pyramids. We hope to fly as I don't relish the thought of a long bus journey in the heat.Could anyone give me any idea of prices and who best to book with?
Thanks all
I'm thinking of going to the Conrad on a last minute deal in September. I can't find any good photo's of the beach and just wondered if it's sandy and nice?
Was going to go to the Hyatt in Taba, but seen picture of the beach and it's not great.
Thanks
L
The beach at the Conrad is amazing, as is it's proximity to the hotel.
White sand/coral, that doesnt get blown up all over the place in the breeze. The sand gets very hot though, cant cant walk on it with out something on your feet. The jetty shown is about 50m long and takes you right to the reef. All in all I would say it is perfect. Have a look at thesepictures, they are from the hotels web site, and it really does look like that
I may have some beach pics still in my camera that I will post.
Go for it, Mrs Mac
Thanks for the pictures - looks lovely. How long ago was you there? Any trips that are worth going on?
For some reason I cant shift the Photo's Yvonne posted on Page 19 of this board - Its well worth having a look as I think it cover most of the Conrads facilities including the 'glorious' sandy beach used only by the hotel... Im not going until Sept but apparently it is one of the best streaches of beach in the area, it is also supported by a first class diving school. Read back the pages - Your choice will be made for you

We got back on the 22nd July, click back to page 42 I hve posted some info there.
Best idea to read through the past 10 pages or so, that is the most up-to-dt info from most of us how are just back.
I would really recommend the Conrad it is stunning.
MrsMac
Not only is the beach just perfect the reef is also. The snorkelling there is out of the world as is the diving. I was able to dive in a few reefs and all I can say is that the house reef (Ras Ghamila) is one of the best in Sharm. Can't wait 'till nest year.
Have a Fab holiday
Angela
The Conrad is definitely for me!!
Just got to convince the other half and will try and get something booked this weekend. I'm seeing messages that Eclipse are the cheapest - is this correct?
Hurrah - getting excited now.
Cheers

Sea is as warm as a bath.

The fitness suite consists of all the usual gym equipment plus a sauna, jacuzzi and a steam cabinet, free for A/I guests and my teenagers have used it (don't forget trainers!).
Next door is a beauty salon.
In case I haven't already mentioned it....
I love this hotel!
Being a new user myself I don't know how to post links but if you want to view more photographs of beach go to http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk and submit conrad sharm el sheikh and look at reviews as some of these have good photos of hotel and beach
Yes, Eclipse direct worked out a couple of hundred quid cheaper than FC on the high street.
