I have just returned from 2 lovely weeks in the scorching Corfu sunshine.
I was so dissapointed to be leaving though.
I went to Sidari with my boyfriend, we spent most nights having a quiet meal and a few drinks on the outskirts of the centre but there is plenty of nightlife if you want it.
The main crossroards in Sidari seem to house many of the English bars and a few clubs. The further down each road takes you to quiter parts where you will find nice tavernas.
The Canal D'Amour end of town had a nice mix of bars and restaurants and it much more laid back than Sidari centre itself. But there are couples, families with little ones around everywhere so it definately isn't four "Kavos-Like" holidaymakers.
A really good mix in Sidari, caters for what you are looking for on that particular night, hope this helpps!
visited Sidari September this year (05) with my boyfriend, we are both 18 and enjoy going out and found nightlife brilliant, try the SOS bar ask george(barman), olly(waiter), marios(dj) and spiros(manager) if they remember lisa and james! bars open till approx half 1 but many stay open later as long as the police arent around! about 3 nightclubs faros, caesers and mint? try caesers very good open till approx 7am! hope you enjoy it

Hope youi lovely people can help us. Myself and my wife are looking to go on Holiday in June and have decided on Corfu and further to this decided on Sidari, I do however have a couple of questions you may be able to answer.
We are both 33 and enjoy lazy days by the pool but also like to get out and walk, we like a good drink and really enjoy entertainment such as singers etc (had abit too much waiter dancing in Turkey) but also like sitting in a bar and chatting away to people till the early hours.
Is Sidari any good to us??
Also we have narrowed down our apartment choice to Thomson's Greece brochure.
1. The ELENI
2. The STEMA 2
Both look good and both have good reviews, we like the ELENI location as we dont mind a walk at night into town and then a taxi back but is it a nice safe walk???
Does the STEMA 2 have any entertainment as we like a game of pool and some nights end back up at the apartment bar to end our night there in good company
Oh so many questions..........
Sorry to be so undecided but I have used Holiday Truths before and know you guys are the ones to ask.
Look forward to hearing from you for any info you have.
Also any like minded couples going departing 9th June 2006 ??????
Regards
Simon and Ange
Sidari has one main road running through the resort lined with shops, bars and restaurants, even a McDonalds (good news for some, a nightmare for others!) We were self catering and found that eating out was both reasonably priced and of a good standard. With regards to night time entertainment our nights were as lively or as quiet as we wanted. There are numerous disco style bars, karaoki pubs and a couple of clubs, quieter options where you can chill out and places offering pub quizzes or different acts every night - singers, comedians, magician/illusionist etc. The Canal D'Amour area is also just a short stroll if you want to escape the bustle of Sidari.
We really enjoyed visiting the surrounding areas. We hired bikes and went to a few of the little villages in the area. We were advised to visit Sunset beach along the coast which offers picturesque views and an excellent beach. We were not disappointed. Highly recomended. There did seem to be plenty of options if you decided to leave the pool and get out walking.
I have heard that Sidari is attracting a younger and younger crowd although not yet your typical 18-30 style resort. No doubt others could confirm this? (May not be a problem out of peak season anyway)
Hope my info has helped a bit.
Steve

Thanks for your comments we are looking forward to it thanks to all the comments for Holiday truths, we now fancy going to the 'Sunny apartments' any ideas from anybody what they are like etc.???
Simon
had lots of football on TV also, on the main street you have every choice of restaurant, Indian, Chinese, Italian and yes a McDonalds but Greek food very hard to find there are one or two restaurants maybe more the Canal De Mar end but we were the opposite direction from that, did find Salt and Pe pper which was all Greek even to waiters and waitresses.
We love to walk but did not find anywhere special, took a bus ride into Corfu town which was lovely but I've always loved Corfu Town, also Kassioppi was nice, a friend of ours who has been going to Corfu for about 23/25 years goes to Stan Stephano and absolutly loves it.
We did get the feeling is was turning to the younger element and felt it had an 18/30 atmosphere about it.
Hope you manage a really nice holiday, because it was not our cup of tea dosn't mean it won't be your.
pojo
We went to Sidari a couple of years ago and loved it, the place that is! We are going back this September and just hope we were unlucky with the choice of apartments last time.
There are some fantastic restaurants all over Sidari, we ate a different Greek meal every night. We even found one behind the taxi rank which had a huge clay oven and a spit with a full lamb on it which you ordered by the kilo!
If you are going with kids you could have a problem though depending on how old they are, because there isn`t much for them to do. We went at the same time last visit and the water park and few rides were shut.
If you are booking any trips do as others have said and go to the local travel agents. If you are considering booking for Albania though be aware!!!! It could well be a 14hr+ day and when you get there it`s possible that you`ll be pestered non stop by street urchins and beggars.
If anyone has stayed at the Takis apartments or know of a review of them I`d love to hear from you.
Thanks
TDF
