Strange pink wobbly creatures!!!!! I think they're called English tourists!!!!
A Wild monkey in Candolim, parrots, and squirels on our coconut trees
The cows (well looked more like a vixon usually pulled a cart) it head butted me & tried to toss me into the air. I was too quick for it though so got away with just a very bruised thigh.
Don`t think they are dangerous if you leave them alone - you might see Monkeys - snakes - mongoose - lots of beautiful birds - some reports of panthers around the jungle areas ( also aguada area) and wild elephants -inc two working ones around candolim and if you travel to the various wild life reserves perhaps a lot more. One thing you can be assured of is that goa is a part of one of the most diverse countries in the world and the western Gats which border goa have as yet untouched Rainforest - Unlike most places you really don`t know what you might find around the next corner.
crockerdials seen um, but don,t know how to spell them
Last year I was in the sea and my other half & friends were shouting at me from the beach, I thought they were pretending there was a shark behind me, when I eventually turned around there was a dolphin so close I could almost touch it.
It's a jungle out there!

del don't even mention snakes to me [have seen pic] A lad sitting on our steps had a basket which I thought had fruit in it, until he took the lid off and a cobra [I think] popped out, our place doesn't have a back door, but I nearly created one in my haste to get away.
Hi Lin - the panther in question was shot by a policeman who when called to the village because it was eating their pigs and dogs - was himself attacked and so shot it to save his life but subsequently ended up in all sorts of trouble because they - as are most animals in Goa - are protected. It was also reported jan this year about the panther or leopard that jumped onto a car bonnet near the prison before running off - always thought the area around the fort aguada was strangely quiet!
Thanks BAM, I remember it happening, we had a discussion on it here earlier this year, but couldn't find it, or remember what exactly how the cat died, I thought it got caught in a trap and died before it could be released.
sometimes think this is one of the reasons we are attracted to goa in the first place - a touch of the unknown and feeling safe at the same time! That`s India - That`s Goa!
Other creatures... Anyone who's read CWT's newsletters will have heard about the snakes (a couple inside - smaller ones), a large greyish one outside, tarnatula, scorpian (had a few now), we also have monkeys in at the Mango House, well, in the garden, but you know what I mean. There's about 15 - 20 I think, although they come and go. They're nice to look at but can be a menace when they start running across the roof. Also like BAM said there are mongoose, which guess is good as that should keep the snake population down. Ants... HUGE number of different species and I'm sure the Mango house has them all! - THANKFULLY not too many get in the house, but there are small red ones, black ones, ones that bite, ones that don't (same for middle sized ones and then big ones too, some nearly an Inch long! Butterflies, if you come early on in the season there is normally a good number of butterflies around... And they are lovely big ones. Oh year, forgot about the fruit bats (hugew things), squirels (also in our garden), they make a strange noise in the morning when they flick their tails above their head... Probably more but I can't think at the moment....
My Missus after too much Fenni
Saw a dead Python in Vagator about 13 foot long and a brown krait snake (keep well away)
Thank you for your vicious animals aaaargh!
Will be in Calagute tomorrow :
Sea snakes
Carry on with you vicious animals ( how do you spell croccadiles) - that's not right!
whilst swimming at calangute - two snakes appeared either side of me, swimming for the beach, later locals killed them but still don`t know why because it seems they were harmless and proberbly fell into the sea from the mainland.
not that we saw that many obnoxious fellow countryfolk but theres always oneor two wherever you go in the world just enough to make you cringe!!!!
Estate agents and the red tape and rules if you want to purchas property, very scary.
