Good afternoon from the balcony
Any one else who's been on a cruise found it hard to get into the swing of things ?
Where do I normally keep the flour/bisto Or has anyone noticed how difficult it is to get room service at home ?
I do miss the hot choc in bed, (none of the coven have taken the hint yet). and the bowl (small pyrex dish) of 4 fruits.
Mind you I always seemed to get a peach a Kiwi an apple and an orange, oranges and apples O.K. but seemed to always be soft, Not a lover of kiwi or peaches, they seemed to go soft very quickly as they had been frozen or over chilled.
petera thanks for the link - yes Romero was on our cruise, I'm glad to see chris was recognised by anothers as the organisor - what I need in my life, some one to organise it - well organise the vacume and the iron as well as the dishwashing, I nearly forgot the bed making as well. without any of the commitment. just breeze in and out when the chores are done - any takers :rofl :rofl
chris63 was great with her BIG handbag she had everything covered, maps, itinery, timetable of buses, plan for the day and even glasses for when Viv (mother) and I forgot ours.
After such a break it seems hard to bring ones self to do the washing up.
I do wish I had done what Rumrat and others did and save 2 sets of coupons and then apply for 2 cruises,
I might have got the Red Sea, if anyone going on a Daily Express Cruise, to the Red Sea has the opportunity go to Petra even if it's E100 extra go and be thrilled as you have never been before.
It is stunning in fact words can not discribe it. and to think all of the buildings were done before Wimpey and McAlpine were even thought of. It is STUNNING so go. there are buses organised and you can only get to it by an organised trip and must leave by 4pm (if memory serves me right). Be very careful not to pick up anything one bloke and his wife on a trip we did were arrested for picking up a stone, they did not rejoin our party at all and we went on to the Dead Sea and were in Jorden/Egypt for 4 weeks in all. So be warned BUT do enjoy it if you can get on the trip/cruise
I am very envious of anyone who gets there for £200 never mind £10, so go for it.
got to get back on Ebay now to make a shilling to get tomorrows paper just to see if there are any more offers. (sorry Luci)

just looked at the weather for the med .roll on next summer, or maybe I might win the lottery and book another cruise next week. vivien
Did it rain last night I hope those awaiting the 24th Oct Cruise are ready for it - anything to get away from this dismal weather - it seems so cold back here - even if I am closer to the sun than most (14 floors up for new comers).
Just put the vacume in the middle of the floor but it just stares at me - what am I doing wrong - yes I have plugged it in and there is electric
Are you keeping up the excerises vivien ( I have a photo to prove that Vivien went to arobics (it is available to the highest bidder).
On the point of tipping - (we had one of the waiters (Danal) who waits on the even numbered tables not sure of which - as this happened when we were all in one sitting, but we got a pot of english tea after dinner so I gave him a £5) When they go home, which they mostly do on Nov 1st to Bali only $ or £ are recognised the euro is like Chinnes Yen useless. Bear it in mind.
With Love and Envey for those going on the 24th

p.s tried to put 10 pictures up on the site but could not find where to put the date and location - still having problems with captions, Mike I will pm you about it.
Knew you would get your tenners-worth ...........not major injuries or tumbles to report?? No unplanned trips into the briney?
Well done mate!

There is a vucuum re-training workshop available for disobedient electrical equipment if yours isn`t behaving properly.
It`s called: "Working On Machines And Neurosis"
Also know as W.O.M.A.N. ........WHAT A COINCIDENCE!
Overall the food was well presented on the Melody, if somewhat only just warm, mind you of the two whom had the lobster none were impressed, as one commented it was not caught; it just gave it's self up.
Just had a lovely plate of Sausage, Egg and Chips grand food with white death bread and butter. ( Yes Vivien Holly Bush from Harrods), well the poor mans Harrods renamed Lidi, well it is just as exclusive, exclusivly for the decerning palate. Do not on the cruise ask for 'Horse Raddish' for the steak besides near causing bedlum you will proberly get tomatoe ketchup. as Bill (Romeo) will verify.
Thanks for the tip TonyW I will look out for the classes. if nothing else it goes to show you must be as daft as I or more so. You sure know how to live dangeriously
On our cruise we all at sometime met 'Finger' and his Mrs. if vivien or chris have the time and wish to i'll let them tell the tale, 'cause I do not think anyone would believe me and the tale I would tell.
One of the coven is a author, in a smal way I am going to see if I can pursude her to write it - maybe for a prized bottle of Baileys.
Off on Wednesday to see Himmlers daughters etc.. but after all the encouragement I had from the gang I do feel I have the confidence to tell them to experiment on someone else. Be carefull anyone walking around St Tropez they have small bollards, like on the Kennet and Avon Canel easy to step into and fall over. I missed them thanks to the vigilance of Mother and Sis. (Vivien and Chris)
Drying up here now, but still murky clouds and not good weather for taking photos for ebay .

will pass on the fingers episode, all I will say (£0000) as deposit . I was rendered speechless. could'nt get a word in edgeways anyway. I mean phil you are not short of a few words and I did notice you were struck dumb as well. vivien
hi phil, plesse ,please ,please brighten up our lives and tell us the tale of fingers, you cant leave us high and dry its too cruel!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watchdog is on at 8.30 tonight ( Monday) for one week only. I thought I might mention this in case you-know-who are featured.
Just a reminder that 'Oh what a buitifull morning Oh what a buuuitfull day, something just got in my waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy'
Come on join in - it's a wonderful sunny morning. Number 2 just left for work, that means that only her will be calling tonight as she'll be staying - I can feel another song coming on
Were we on Watchdog last night ? I never had the tele on until 9pm when 'Waking the Dead' came on. (thinking of it the title could be used for our friends at Rise and the Daily Express it's a bit like that getting a responce from them) . Since I had the confirmation of the cruise the head aches stopped. (I wonder why)
TonyW I tried that
on Number 2last night, it did not work her reply was, Dad just put it away, if your not going to use it, (Uh so much for caring children) She then came back with 'useing the vacume will be good excersise for your hand' any excuse so she does not have to do it. I did get a cup of tea in bed this morning so it's not all gloom at the glums (that'l test your memory)"Working On Machines And Neurosis"
'Fingers & his Mrs' story may be published on the net, number 2 could not stop laughing at my retale of it, so she may well write it - if she does I will email all thiose who want it.
Bye for now
Phil
Watchdog last night, but they did say in an earlier programme they are keeping an eye on the situation.
No mention on
Perhaps it's a blind eye
Aslemma......... "There are none as blind as those who do not want to see".....
TonyW
"There are none as blind as those who do not want to see"..
How true, you are turning out to be a sage Tony, any onions in your family
Night Night
Phil
Good Evening yet again
How true, you are turning out to be a sage Tony, any onions in your family
Thinking of changing my username to "The Oracle"
`Watchdog` are turning out to be a `wet nosed puppy` on this aren`t they? Or perhaps a `lapdog.`
Mind you, the DE group are pretty powerful........they are probably safer oicking on a sole trader or someone who can`t afford to take them to court.
Well there's not much on the box, and I need charlie, my 8 year old grandson to work the vidieo - so thats it. (I know - but what the hell -live life to the full)
Where does one go after a 5 star rating or perhaps become a How does one become a line dancer (answers on a £50 note please - I need to start a cruise fund some how) If not a LD
Perhaps on another cruise
By the way I only had 1 waist bin in my cabin, and 4 bits of fruit at any one time. lets see how many remember that thread - and I'm back on Topic

How could we ever forget!!.................On topic Phil????????? Can`t see that lasting beyond the next bottle of ding-dong!
But was it the correct TYPE of fruit, we need to know the full report!!
I got home about 8.45 yesterday evening from the 17/10 Melody cruise but have only just managed to catch up with things. The cruise was excellent, as was the company. There were about 10 DE cruisers on board and about 100 Brits all together, the majority of the rest being Italians and Germans with a lesser amount of French. I managed to meet up with Trevor Burns, Lydia and Cruiser from HT, as well as Rob Martinez who now has plans to check in with us in the near future. I spread the word about this site to many other Brits as well.
I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience (except maybe for yesterday's flight home that was bumpy to say the least). Decent sized cabin, great food, interesting and knowledgeable guides on the excursions I took all made it well worth £10!
I will post a better report in the Cruise Report section later, when I have got the washing/ironing/work back under control. Great to hear that another cruise has been granted; I hope this is a sign of better things to come. I wondered if Watchdog had featured anything more about our chums at DE/RT when I saw it had been on last night. Glad I didn't miss anything.
Until later....
Sounds like you've had a brilliant trip, at last.
Glad you enjoyed meeting me on the cruise and hope you were happy with all the drinks I bought you!
Er, was it my double or my ghost? Or the free ding-dong??
It's true I was 'booked' on Melody, but never confirmed - and here I am still on dry land.
Sounds like there were some rum goings-on at the bar! Did Trevor and Lydia really exist?
Cruiser
Duh - I wasn't as awake as I thought I was it was The Courier not Cruiser!
