Just come back from my cruise. What a fantstic time i've had. Been snorkeling in the warm seas watching the fish swim by, drinking Margaritas on white sandy beaches, horseback riding through the Belize jungle, visiting Mayan ruins and meeting so many wonderful people....absolutely brilliant!!!
Tell us more, so glad you had a good time.
Did you meet any other DE's?
Hope you don't suffer too much jet lag,
Peter
Good to see one of our rare Caribbean cruisers make it there and back successfully. Tell us all about it.
By the way, did you think it was good value after - and did you tell people what you paid?
Just shows people shouldn't give up however sick of it they get - eventually it should be worth all the hassle.
Fingers crossed for your tickets, Kay - ours were sent out about a week in advance.
Kay, my tickets arrived three days before departure so dont worry!
Working Lunch (BBC2) has just mentioned the £10 cruise offer again - they had got a postcard from someone who had contacted them - didn't catch the name.
The said that back in the summer they had surveyed people who had contacted them - said about half of those had now been offered a cruise - but they are now expecting lots of people to email them today to say that they are still waiting.
Good luck to those still waiting - and send off that email.
Do you know an email address for working lunch.
Here's the email address Muncher! working.lunch@bbc.co.uk
hope your tickets arrive soon and that you have a fantastic voyage. Is it the same cruise as London cabbies. He seems to have had a brilliant time and i sincerely hope that yours is as good.Dont forget to let us know

It seems so long since the watchdog programme!!!
'Nil illigitum carborundum' Your right aslemma but I had to give someone something check and keep you all thinking
Just emailed the 'Working Lunch' programme with my 4 pennyworth
ref the American T.V. programme, it was almost like that on our 'love ship' well if Jean/Joan (the one not married to Bill see previous posting, for full explination) had have managed to get her hands into the Captain a bit more, or if we'd have been at sea a few more days - sorry Luci (£50 note on its way) to continue...... I dread to think where the consequences would had led us - we may have seen a bit more of the interior of the jam sandwich (that parked in my photo of Naples).
Must go now got beauty sleep to catch up on
Nite Nite
Phil
I decided that with the non arrival of my tickets in the post today, that I would phone to see when I could expect them.
Amazingly I got connected straight away, not to R T, but to 'Concept for Travel'. There my booking was traced and I was told that "Royal Caribbean Cruiseline are always very slow with sending on tickets, and that they would chase them for me." When I pointed it out that I thought it was their job to do the chasing and not mine, I was told that they hadn't realised that I was leaving on the 2nd December, they thought I was leaving on the 3rd!
I have been promised a return phonecall this morning. We will see.
Love Andy's Kay
You must feel relieved to know you have a contact number that works!
Amazingly I got connected straight away
Who did you phone?
Enjoy your holiday............. don't bother thinking of us in this horrid cold weather!
Alli
Well surprise, surprise. I have had the return phone call, and apparently my tickets from Royal Caribbean were in their post bag this morning, and I should get everything in the post tomorrow or Friday. What a good job they looked.
Andy's Kay
I phoned R T's number, as on my booking confirmation, but as I say, got through to Concept For Travel. This new company is not listed in the Companies list anywhere, so am not sure who they are.
Kay
Concept Travel = R*** T***** methinks! A wolf in sheep's clothing possibly
The news: not much new, I'm afraid. Apparently the Daily Express has an answer machine message saying something along the lines of the directors have taken over the running of the offer and bear with them, they also couldn't reply for the foreseeable future. Working Lunch promise to help as much as they can though.
If you have a fast enough connection you can watch the programme by clicking on the banner on this page: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/working_lunch/4218500.stm The item was just before the end of the programme which was a half-hour long today. Use the slider to find it. You only have until 1:30 on Thursday to watch it, so be quick.
Really useful I think Craig. I think the more people who write in or e mail 'Working Lunch' the better. Even if this programme only updates the situation, it will still keep it alive and be another thorn in the DE's side. Sooner or later they will have to do something about it. I am sure they are counting on more and more would be cruisers giving up until the whole thing fades away. This must not happen!
I received my tickets about a month before departure. However, having got all excited about my trip on the love boat, I've just read the Which report on the Celebration's dodgy food safety. That could really cramp my style!
By the way, the brochure has no mention of line dancing - is something missing? I thought that was the big thing on cruises.
And for those who've not got their allocation yet - if you buy Carol Drinkwater's latest book, there's an offer of a "free" flight to the South of France. Organised by a company in Timperley.
bye,
Cruiser
I looked at a couple of the "Consumer Complaints" sites on the Web, and was surprised that they'd had only three about the DE cruise between them - and no comments from readers..
I got a phone call sometime in March offering 2 possible weeks in April.
The first week I couldn't go because I was unable to get off work and the following week I had already booked something else. I was told that because I couldn't make either of those weeks that I would basically have to wait until something else available.
I have no problem with that, as at least I was offered the chance of going, but obviously sods law that neither of the two weeks were convenient.
Like many others I have heard nothing since despite sending several E Mails and leaving messages for a call back.
I will continue to buy the paper simply because it is my favourite, but I am sure that like many others would have more respect for them if they at least mentioned the £ 10 Cruise offer in their paper sometime instead of acting like it never existed.
