I have never been impressed with anything connected with animals in Cyprus the Famagusta View point zoo is another example. maybe now they are in the EU they will have to buck up there ideas.
I agree entirely with your sentiments - including the mini-zoo.
the conditions the animals were kept in.
There was an owl, in a tiny little cage, that had no feathers on whatsoever..... It looked very sad.
I dont think we will go there again..... too distressing.
Ive posted a few pictures of the Photo Galleries ... heres a picture of the Protaras Fun Park from my hotel room in the Paschalia:
i find the water park in protaras far too small & way overpriced in camparison to waterworld, if i'm right (sure some will correct if i'm not) it costs the same to get in to the protaras park as waterworld, i think the comparison stops there. If they dropped the price maybe they would get a lot more people in.

what fantastic photos!
Its really put me In the mood to return back to Protaras In July...
I especially like the Cape Greko photos.....
Thanks very muck Cookie1 ... i must admit i love looking at them too .. really fond memories of there !! I posted ones from our day trip to Famagusta as well ... there the ones on the beach looking at the ruined hotels ?? Very Sad ...
looks like a smashing place to go for a summer hol - im just wondering as i see the mcdonalds logo in one of the photos - does anybody know how far this would be from the Issac apartments cos we are going in june and im sure the kids will want to visit mcds lol. any info most appreciated. whilst myself and my hubbie are looking forward to trying traditional greek food (my sister in law is originally from limassol) the kids will prob want to have some english food now and then.
If you walk to the top of this road, mcdonalds Is on your right hand side.... right near the "Dancing Water Show....."...... sorry theres a proper name for this and Ive forgotten It........
KKN2003..... we have only ever seen Famagusta on Boat Trips...... I would love to see It on land...... I have to persuade my husband othewrwise yet..... hes not that keen on It.
I may just have to go with my daughter......
Beautiful pictures....... I wish I was back there..........
mdaly1-just to let you know that,a pleasant walk that it isduring the day,I wouldn't consider going along the coast path at night. As you get nearer the end it can be a bit treacherous, even during daylight. If you come out of the Isaac, turn right and head towards the Anastasia(there might be a shortcut to that street)and head up towards the Pascallia Hotel.Turn left at the hotel and walk to the waterpark but go past the entrance towards an area of wasteground(unles there are villas on here by now??).If you walk along the path you will come to the main road which brings you to the start of the strip and McDonalds.
KKN2003 - Loved your photo's brought back memories of all the places we too have visited. Especially nice to see the one of The Stuffed Olive which unfortunately burned down during our last stay in Pernera in Oct.
I would recommend you not to go to the "waterpark" in Protaras. As a rep we were not permitted to promote it AT ALL as it is not very safe. Just by walking past and looking at the slides you can see they don't look very safe. Yes it is small and you would get a sunbed no bother, even in high season, but there is a reason for this!!! Personally I wouldn't trust it and would go for Waterworld which is just fab!! There is an area suitable for smaller children and a large wave pool which you walk into and is shallow. There is also a large play area similar to 'wacky warehouse' kind of thing for when you want your children to have a break from the hot sun.
As my family (2 adults, 2 teenagers) are heading for Protaras on 15th June I have been doing some research for them.
Just checked the 'all singing, all dancing' waterpark in Agia Napa, looks great BUT it works out at £72.00 for the four of them (last years prices). I had been busy telling the lads they could go along on their own, but can't see Mum and Dad handing out £36.00 every other day to them!
Anyone know if there is anyway to get a cheaper deal? The website offers £1.00 per person off if you book online, but that aint gonna help very much.

Hi Jinty.
'Ayrshire Herald' Cookie?
Thanks for that, I'll tell them to buy the Cyprus Mail and have a look.
Cheers,
Jinty
You mean my Thanks for that, I'll tell them to buy the Cyprus Mail and have a look.

If you buy the excursions from the resort it is approx £16 each person. It is always dearer paying at the park, and you wait ages in line as well. If you get a voucher from THISVI travel, you get in the park first. Every year i go to Cyprus i go twice, once each week with my family.
It's not cheap but it is one of the best waterparks I've ever been too.
Is the park suitable for all ages and swimming abilities? We are going (my 5 year old and I) and wondered if it is a suitable place for him seeing as he cannot fully swim yet, and is it worth paying the money to get in in this case or would be better off using the hotel pools lol
Karen_uk - I've been several times and once we took my nephews who were 1 and 3 at the time and they loved it, theres plenty for the younger ones and some of the rides you and your 5 year old will be able to go on together - I would definately recommend it and will be there for at least one visit next month.
