I know this because we have been moved from the Tropical. We were due to arrive on the 15th May. If you go on their website you will notice that you now cant book the tropical before about 17th July due to the lack of demand!

i'm sorry to here that the tropical wont be open till july because being able to use both hotels makes it even better and yes the pools at the tropical are fab!, can anyone tell me what date in july the tropical will be opening?
the select rooms are virtually the same as the family rooms apart from you get a bath robe and slippers and a jacuzzi bath and a dvd player. i think the kids dens have playstation, hope this helps a bit.

First availability on the web seems to be 17th July. Are there still good toddler slides at the palace or are they at the tropical?
The slides at the pp are more aimed at the Children as the two at the pt were very fast but much more fun! 
Cant believe they have known this for a couple of months. If they had given me this info back then i would probably have looked to go somewhere else but the prices have now gone up. Perhaps that was the ploy so people didnt cancel.
They told me it was because they could not fill the hotels!

Yeah was there in September for two weeks and had such a good time booked it up again about 3 weeks after we got back!
Thats good to hear Michael. I'm really looking forward to it. Not going to let this ruin it!

We are flying out of Gatwick.
Just a bit worried that the pt being closed will spoil things. The grounds were lovely and it was nice to walk around the whole complex. Dont know how they are going to close the pt off from the pp, just hope it doesnt spoil the complex.

I'm sure it will be fine, we'll do our best to find out whats going to happen before panicking about it all.
BTW I think you're on the same flight as tottya (she pm'd you), do you arrive at 10pm?

We arrive mid afternoon. She must be on a different flight then as we fly about 09.40 which was the same as we did last year.
I went on the FC website and you could not book Tropical till the 17th July
I pm'd you Michael, cos Tottya and I were chatting on msn, so we don't send this off topic talking about flights and stuff. Will maybe catch you another time.

deja Vu - FC strikes again!!!! Unbelievable!!!!!!
I just wonder, how do you say to your kids, I'm really sorry kids but no you can't go on those other really good slides because that half is shut! It's like going to another accomodation and finding one pool closed because there aren't enough people staying on site to warrant keeping it open. Alex you are spot on, it's gonna get lively again.!

I can imagine your concerns Briar but don't think locking the topic will do any good whatsoever. People need to be able to read through and contribute when something like this happens. It obviously has been known by FC for some time but has taken somebody to ask them the reason for it to become public on this forum. Jusy everybody keep sensible (me included) sorry about last night, a few glasses of wine and then reading this just tipped the balance lol!!!
hi there everyone, this is just my opinion but you would have thought that they would have left both hotels open anyway cos that way there are less queue's for drinks/food etc which makes guests enjoy their stay more plus there was still time for people to book!

hi there again, ive just had a look at the first choice website and eclipse direct website and there are alot of rooms left to book and its cheaper to book now than it was last november when i booked! there are alot of free child places left so anyone wanting to book do it now before those free places go 
oh... and also if you book through eclipsedirect.com its alot cheaper!!
