I phoned Customer Services today pretending that I wanted to book a holiday but was concerned. I was advised that everything at the PT would be closed. I questioned the fact that the football pitch was on the side of the PT but was told this was going to be closed too. That meant no soccer school?
I wish first choice would get their stories straight.

i've asked about the pools and why it has been removed from the lletter about the fencing and covering but she just said they are unsure at the moment More like they wont give it to me in writing
So if the spa gardens are at the TP then we are out of luck

My wife rang FC today and after being given the run around eventually rang the number on the back of the FC brochure. The people there said they were unable to help and that my wife needed to speak to programme management on 0845 600 4945. She did this and told them about our worries about the health and safety aspect about how the hotels are going to be separated with the PT being closed and if the PT pools were going to be drained or covered. The answer was that they would not do anything that would leave them open to be sued. BUT i am sure you will all love this. They admitted they CURRENTLY DONT KNOW what they are going to do to separate the hotels and would probably not know for a month.
They added that if it came down to it and it was going to be too much of a health and safety issue they may even open the pools if it is an easier option. Again though THEY DONT KNOW!

At least someone has now managed to get something in writting. Ill give that number a call tomorrow and see what they say.
Don't think anyones got anything in writing unless I've missed something. We didn't get any response last year from FC from any letter, telephone call or in writing or E:mail. They will not respond. My letters were about the Tropical not even being built let alone open and we were due there a matter of days after the supposed completion. Mind you it was just about finished when we arrived apart from planting out, palm trees tied up and many many jacuzzi baths failing every day. If you look objectively at this which I'm sure FC do, we must have a handfull of people on here who are actually going in the "Tropical closed season". With the way they behave, they won't give a damn because they will still have hundreds of others who will go unawares in the belief that they have actually been upgraded,?? How so if they are mirror images lol.

I have been to FC today to sign in agreement to our flight changes, and we have it in writing I quote " soccer school is in the middle of both hotels and is still operating. Bugs Bunney club is still operating, 3 themed rest in each hotel and one buffet rest - can visit the themed ones once per stay each. The tropical is going to be closed due to low volumes of pax (thats us lot lol)however you can still walk around the complex but none of the facilities are operational"

Don't they have to respond under ABTA rules? I'm sure I read somewhere they have 28 days to respond?

If you have a complaint about your travel arrangements you should write to the ABTA Member concerned. They must provide you with a full reply within 28 days. If you remain dissatisfied you should write again pointing out the areas of dispute. Again the ABTA Member must respond within 28 days (see 'Complaining') [Code 3.1].
If you fail to reach a satisfactory position with the ABTA Member you can have the matter resolved through the ABTA Arbitration Scheme (see 'Independent Redress') [Code 3.4].

There's also this which is quite interesting.
If an ABTA Member makes a significant change to your travel arrangements they must offer you the choice of accepting the changed travel arrangements or having all your money back [Code 2.2].
If an ABTA Member does cancel your booking or makes a significant change to the travel arrangements after the date for payment of the full price they must offer you compensation unless the reason for the cancellation or change was outside of their control [Code 2.1 & 2.2].
My apologies, I must have scanned through too quickly and am impressed that somebody has got something in writing. I truly hope everybody has a great holiday, that is what you pay your hard earned money for but really have my doubts when it comes to Fc and Pegasus.
What we had paid in full

They did offer us a full refund though. But they told us that we were not entitled to any compensation because they had informed us within 56 days!Well they had informed us actually on the 14th march.
AAARRRRRHHHHHHHHH I bloody give up with them
Ah your date for payment is 8 weeks before you go, 56 days, doesn't matter if you've paid in full, so they got out of that one.
I only hope FC are ready for the backlash!
Because unless you contact them direct they are not offering the information that the PT will be closed until this date.
All correspondance they send out about moving you from the PT to the PP is about occupancy - which after reading posts on here from people that went last year is a lie.
My one comfort is we travel after the PT 'opens' and that some people are returning to the 'Holiday Village' that holidayed there last year.
We were due to stay at the pp in august 06, after reading all the recent reviews i decided to ring eclipse who then went on to explain that they were in the process of sending letters out to all .
I was told that i could now amend my holiday free of charge as the brochure was incorrect of its description. That the beach would only have limited use due to turtles breeding, entertainment not as described and also that there may be limited access to other facilities ? , when i asked what those were i was told eventhough i am going in august it could not be guaranteed that the pt would be open
After carefull consideration we decided that after working all year you want a holiday you enjoy , and not one that in my opinion could leave us stranded with no facilities as described, or even at worse the hotel being closed and then too late to book another resort of our choice , at least this way we have a choice . We have now amended to Lykia World in Olu Deniz , same airport same dates even same flight. Of course we have upgraded but we felt the extra it has cost is well justified in guaranteeing us a holiday that will be amazing, and my 3 children are now looking foward to swimming with the dolphins we have been before so know we will again have the holiday of a lifetime at Lykia World Lykia World does also have its own web site which can be accessed by http://www.lykiaworld.com

did you read the post after yours, its seems they are not promising that the p/t will be open in july/aug either!!!
think i might give my travel agent a call, i'm paying alot of money for this holiday and some friends of ours are coming because we told them how good it was last year...... really starting to worry now

I have spoken to first choice today, they informed me that the Tropical will only be open in july. i asked about the joint facilities, they said they would all be open except for the fish restaurant. i specifically asked about the Spa Gardens and they said that they will be open.
I am not happy as friends are coming with us this year and so feel like I have a degree of responsibility if they do not have a good time. However, asI have said before it will not stop us going as I am sure that we will still have a fantastic time.

They should just bloody sell it off if they're not going to bother opening it in August. I mean, who spends millions of pounds on a hotel and then opens it one month a year!

nobody who speaks to FC seem to be getting a straight answer.
ive got a horrible feeling that they arnt going to open the tropical at all this year! (hope i'm wrong) What a way to run a business!! yes i think they should sell at least one of the hotels off to someone who knows what they are doing
Just to say we still got our free child places at Lykia World
we only amended holiday 5 days ago , eventhough Lykia wasn't showing free places when i put in a search on website , Eclipse were still able to find me them

Phoned FC and with my own branch in Southampton and I received this reply from the lady I booked with "It is not due to bird flu or building works it is due to no bookings that the PT will be closed yes it will be closed until the 17th July!"
I then said I had received information that it will no longer be open in August and she said" I CANNOT CONFIRM THIS" I asked where I stand as I have payed for this holiday believing I can use both of the hotels facilities and she said" yes I know what your saying but there is nothing I can do basically I am stuck as I am not staying in the Tropical I am staying at the palace and over the next coming weeks they may fill the tropical with some bookings and the problems will be resolved.
I asked if there is anyone else I can speak to on this matter she said phone customer services on this number 0870 90166522. Thank god I did as I spoke to someone who understood exactly what I was saying they have now put on my booking notes that I am entitled to (A) either re book with first choice somewhere else free of charge or (B) get back all of the money I have paid and go with a different tour operator!!!!
What do customer services know that my local branch don't as it was to easy with customer services to change!!!
