Hi All

We are going to the Palace in August and i have been following this thread for some time a little worried but not too much as like i say we travel August.
Anyway i phoned my FC shop today where i booked my holiday and this is what i was told the girl i booked with had another lady in last week who was travelling May and she rand FC head office and they told her it was just the rooms in the Tropical that were closed due to maintenence in them and 2 pools would be drained due to maintenence the rest of the tropical including pools restaurants and spa gardens would all be open. She the rang FC again to check for me and rang me back to say she had spoke to a diff person at FC and was told exactly the same thing.....that is why no one has had letters to say the facilities at the Tropical will be shut because they wont be.
Anyway just thought i would share this with you to add to the many things other people have been told.
I did querie the other versions people had been given but she assured me (verbally) that what she told me was correct.

I have had a reply from my email to FIRST CHOICE.
They did not answer one of my questions!!!

meant to say that info wasnt about August but from when it opens and i was told the same it will all open 17july

I've also just received a reply from FC in an e-mail - they said the same as Leslies e-mail - also received a reply from Trading Standards - they advise that if they offer you a full refund then thats exceptable?? I HAVE been offered a full refund - but again have been looking forward to going there and we are meeting friends there and they are not able to change - also again if we did change all the free kids have gone!!!!! We don;'t have a choice. I do find it very amusing reading all the reports that a lot of you have had from FC, everyone is so different - I was told by customer services - some one called Kerry - that NONE of the facilities at the tropical would be open, not the spa gardens, restaurants, pools etc and that you WOULD NOT be able to walk around the grounds!!!! I have even sent the link of this site to FC customer services and asked why each one of us has had different information - no reply on that one!!!!!

I had the same e mail telling me to contact customer services.
They just won't put anything in writing.

It looks like its going to be pot luck on whats open and whats not when we get there :evil:

At least they've given you the courtesy of an email!!!! I've had nothing! Unless I accidentally deleted it of course! pmsl :shock:

I have spoken to FC again today and have been told that they are in the process of sending out letters to guests as the tropical would be closed and also there will be no moterised sports on the beach due to breeding turtles. They are offering the chance top change hotels or a refund. They did though confirm that the football pitch would be in use.

Im really not sure what to do now. Ive looked into Lykia World and it costs a fortune. I felt happier last weekend and had decided to stick with my booking but now im really unsure.

It goes back to that big old question from past guests "Would you go back if the PT was shut?"

I have decided to stick with the PP. I have also decided for my own piece of mind I am not going to return to this site until May when the first guests have stayed. I will however keep looking at occupancy for the hotel which currently is fully booked. Im going nuts and im all confused!

just to let you all know incase you was wondering how we have managed to get something in writing, well how we done it was, when we went to the 1stchoice travel shop, they phoned customer service and spoke to Keith.
we then asked if his conversation and answers to our concerns could be given to us in writing, which they put on our booking information which was on Friday last week. BUT when we went in to sign they had removed the part about the fencing but we have a print off of our booking information stating that you still can walk around the complex

Hi Guys,

Finally got confirmation letter that we have been moved to the palace from the closed tropical. The letter bascially says

"Following customer feedback from oour first year of operation at this complex, we have worked closely with the management to further enhance the services and fascilities on offer at this fabulous property. As part of this, we have looked at the number of bookings we have for each arrival date. We feel that to create a vibrant and lively atomsphere and to make sure that our customer get the best from their holiday, it makes sense to only open one hoptel for the beginning of the season. This will be the Pegasos Palace and the Pegasos Tropical wil open from 17 July.

With this in mind we have allocated you a room/s within the PP. All the excellent facilities tat we advertise at the PP will be fully operational.

We would like to advise you that it has been necessary to make some changes to our flying programme to Turkey."

They also phoned up my DH today to confirm that our flights home have been changed from 00:55 to late afternoon which is better for us saves haning around late at night!!

I do not know however what accomadation we have. I have tried to look over the www at our booking referance but it just says an error occured whilst processing your request. I hope its a kids den or Jacuzzi Suite but Im sure we wont be that lucky.

Glad to hear you eventually got something in writing and fab news about the flights!! Did it offer you the chance to cancel at the bottom :?:

Does anyone have a brochure? Could you tell me what it says with regards to changes to your holiday within 56 days of departure?

You know what, I'm just sitting here thinking! This holiday village, even just half of it open, far exceeds what is available at the other holiday villages.

I've decided that I'm going to go, without my moany face on, accept what has happened and make the most of it. If I go with a moany face on, then I'm going to be looking for every single little thing to pick up on and I'm not going to enjoy myself.

For me, the Pegasos Palace alone meets all our needs in a holiday, but thats because we only have a toddler. Of course I can understand why people with older kids might be upset. But as long as the kids clubs are open it'll be fine.

I'm planning on walking into Sarigerme a couple of nights and doing the odd trip, so hopefully we will not be too bored or sick looking at the PP. And of course with all the new friends I've made on here its gonna be a party!!!!!

I'm still mega peed off with first choice and the principle of it all, but I think positivity is the key here. If I need to complain then they're gonna damn well here from me when I get back!

If they mess up again too much this year there wont be many Brits willing to go next year thats for sure!

Roll on May 15th Im looking forward to it, sun pool and my young children happy im not asking for much.

it says the following:

If we change or cancell your holiday

bla bla bla "occationally we may need to make a Major Change.......if we do you must tell us as soon as possible if you wish to accept the change or cancel the holiday with a full refund.......if we cancel...... and its not your fault,or if you cancel because you decline a Major change you have the following options
1 Accept our offer of replacement holiday of lower quality( if available).....refund the difference
2 accept.....equivalent or higher..........(if available)
3 Ask for a refund of the money you have paid

it then goes on to say......

if you accept a Major Change, or if we cancel your holiday and you choose option 1/2 we will as a minimum, compensate you according to scale A.......if you choose option 3....compensate............scale B

8-14 £40 £20
15-28 £30 £15
29-42 £20 £10
43-56 £10 £5
more than 56 £0 £0

if you have paid reduced rates foe children, we .........compensation on a pro[rota basis of the adult rate. Children........free child places.....infants....not entitled to compensation.....

Hi, im a new member so bear with me.

We've been watching this site since booking to go to the PP in May last year. We are going on the 25th May. I've also spoken to Trading Standards and wrote to FC last week (not that i'm expecting to hear from them).

The only thing that is really bothering us is whether or not the wavelength club will be running. As i'm sure you all understand travelling with an only child who happens to be 10 this is vital.

Does anyone who has had anything in writing have confirmation of this?

We are going with the attitude of lets just enjoy it :ghug

to scottish mum, walking to sarigerme is ok during the day, not really a scenic walk but pleasant enough, but i dont think i,d try it at night when its dark, besides, apart from a couple of restaurants, there aint much in sarigerme.

i,m afraid at night your stuck with the entertainment at the pegasus, which you may well enjoy, unfortunately with the tropical closed till july means that you havnt got the choice than say we had in september when both hotels were open.
