just got back from my express cruise.i've been to the red sea on the thomson spirit.
this is my first post on this forum, and all i can say is be patient.lets face it the dailly express screwed up and ive had to wait a long time to get my cruise but they came good in the end.
the cruise was fantastic and i will be contacting the DE to thank them.
Did someone on the cruise tell you about this site? Did you find many HT members cruising with you?
ive known about this site for sometime, but it was the first time ive posted.
there was other people on the cruise with the DE but i didnt speak to anybody. i was on the stage doing some stand up comedy and i asked the. crowd if they were with the DE and a few shouted yes.
if i can help anybody else with any q's post here.
My DE Caribean cruise was cancelled for 2nd time April 2005. You guys give me more confidence that I may get a cruise eventually! Just tried the DE 0800 number.... unobtainable now! Spoke to Craig at The Cruise Store 17:15--03/05/06. He asked me to tell Holiday Truths forum that much as he would like to give names of DE cruise recipients, he can't because he only knows at the same time as any cruise offers are sent out by post and all he does is to literally allocate those cruises. At least, The Cruise Store try to be helpful and friendly. Good luck to all of us.
Cheers, Mikey2
Huge Congratulations to all who have got their cruise - Thats Fab News!!
Just so shocked that DE dont even bother to respond to my letters!
Is there any other way of contacting them????????
What is The Cruise Store business all about?????????? I can see it mentioned in other posts but cant see the start of the topic.

It seems that The Cruise store is the company handling the DE bookings now that R*** are no longer involved. I phoned them on the freephone number I found on their web site. A very nice young lady told me that approx every 2 months they receive a list from the DE with about 90 names to contact. Ater arranging all these cruises they wait for the next list of 90 and so on. She had a quick look to see if my name was on the present list received last week, but it wasn't. She said that mean't I wouldn't hear anything untill at least the next list in about 6-7 weeks time. As I don't suppose they will pay for cruises during July and August I don't expect to cruise with them till the autumn. So I've gone and booked for two weeks time. If the do contact me I will have to ask for a date later in the year.
Still no sign of Phil hope he hasn't fallen off the balcony
Please help All i want is my cruise
I still haven't heard anything eithier .
I had agreed to accepting a cruise sharing with an unknown person and was contacted by R*** offering either of two weeks in April 2005. These weeks were both unsuitable to me due to work committments.
The chap at R*** said that basically I would go back "into the pot"
Does anyone therefore know if I am now invalidated under the T & C as I couldn't go on the dates they specified?
I obviously hope not as this was a sharing option that they came up with, and me agreeing to this was as much to their benefit as it was to mine.
My concern therefore is that I have heard nothing since Feb 2005, when others seem to have had at least a letter.
phil where are you we miss your balcony cruises and your humour!!!!!!!!! carol
smokey - I have given up all hope of hearing from Balcony Phil again!!! I have tried to send him a pm but failed His humour was what got me through all the months of waiting for my cruise! I do hope he is ok
Sorry I have not posted before, I feel, as my user name suggests 'Donefor'
I did enjoy reading the meesage all 200+ as well as the 100+ before the site was pulled, I will post again, when I get some personal news and benefits, I can feel an urge coming on to go an get some ding dong.
Whats all this about a balcony phil
PJM
a warm welcome to you Donefor - you have certainly missed out on one of HT's most entertaining members. Balcony Phil was renowned for his wit and humour and liking for Bells. He must have sailed off into the sunset on his balcony cruise, leaving a vacancy for another who can keep everyone's spirits up, (no pun intended!)while waiting for their cruises to materialises. Fancy the job?
hi donefor,
Thommo6, don't give up whatever you do! Write, write and write to them - you will win out in the end and it will be worth the wait! If Cruise store are receiving allocations for 90 people every 6 or 7 week, it may take the DE some time to fulfil their promises at the rate of 13 cruises allocated per week!
wewll all you lucky people who are booked dont forget to fill us in once you have been on your cruiseits great to hear the stories.and the rest of you keep fighting!!!!!!!!!!
hi to all still waiting for your cruises... ...as the last poster said please keep on trying for your cruises give them g. b. h. of the ear drums until you get what you are entitled to ......i have been reading this forum for a while now and hope that all of you finally get there.....regards ..john-doe...
What a lovely day it is for sure, top of the morning to you and the rest of the bottle to me (Thats the Irish for lovely day - and pass the black stuff).
Whilst I was in Ballymun Dublin, the other week, on a fact finding mission, (anything to get away from 3 certain people) whilst there I had to taste the 'Jamie' (they can keep the black stuff - never did care for treacle much - ever since it was force fed to us during the air raids, those Manchester Derby games got rough in the old days, what with leather casies and very hard boots - not like the nancy game they 'play' these days). (Is there no end the story I hear)
Anyway whilst in Dublin I met 3 people who had applied for the D.E. offer (how we met is a longer story than the above). But it had to do with T shirts).
Where was I, Oh yes it seems that there is an Irish mob who are still awaiting their cruises, via pals in Liverpool/Manchester and Brum. I did tell them about the H.T. site, but have no idea if they have joined up or not. If you have let me know, well if you are living in Ballymun and are reading this, that is.
Any room on that Raft, you may need to make it more available. If not where is the nearest loony bin.
It is good to hear that the 'Cruise Store' are doing more than a certain Northern company that may have reached its ascension.
Bye for now
Donefor, but not down
PJM
P, Hi, Lovely to hear from you! Trust you and your family are well.
To all those waiting - it's a year since I was lucky enough to go on my cruise and it's given me so many fantastic memories, I urge you to not give in, however long it takes.
Things are more positive than they've ever been - just a matter of 'when' rather than 'if' I think - but keep up the pressure!
Good afternoon PJM or should I say Good afternoon To all those waiting - it's a year since I was lucky enough to go on my cruise and it's given me so many fantastic memories, I urge you to not give in, however long it takes.
Things are more positive than they've ever been - just a matter of 'when' rather than 'if' I think - but keep up the pressure!
