I've just looked in to see if there was any further developemts. So pleased that those still waiting are not prepared to roll over and give up. I'm just amazed that the DE have been allowed to let the situation drift for such a long time and hope that the legal actions now being started will help to concentrate their minds.

I think the people at the DE are so obsessed with Lady Di and illegal immigrants that they haven't any time to think about trivial things such as getting these cruises sorted out . 
Luci - please can you tell us what has happened to Balcony Phil? I had a pm from him asking for support in a protest against the DE. I havent heard anything more since then 
Last I heard of Phil, via another member, he had forgotten his password and couldn't access the site. I advised the member to tell Phil to click on the Forgotten Password link, but I haven't heard anything since.

The case I'm bringing isn't just as simple as them not offering the cruise within the timescale, hence me not accepting their offer. It is also a matter of principle that it isn't acceptable for the large faceless organisations to make / and then renage on offers, and think they can get away with it becuase of individuals not having the time to pursue them through the courts. As the Hoover fiasco proved, bad publicity eventually shames them into action, and I thought would have avoided a repeat. Perhaps its time for another wake up call. Besides, I enjoy the challenge!!

I was on the phone to phil today, he had just been for a bike ride and apart from being a bit saddle sore is ok :lol:. he has tried all sorts of ways to get back on to HT but hasn't had any luck so far. I havent posted for a long time but am still watching. my cruise is now in the distant past but it was well worth waiting for. vivien

Its yonks since I've posted but I can't believe this is still going on and on. Unbelievable. How the Daily Express has got away with this so far is beyond me. Luckily I had my £10 cruise last July and had a great time on the MSC Melody - so much so that we are booked on the MSC Musica this Oct/Nov.
The Daily Express needs to be taught a lesson and realise it can't print these outlandish claims i.e. £10 cruise for every reader without any real back-up. Scandalous. I'd sue them too if I hadn't received my cruise. Its what was promised in the T&C and you bought the paper - you get the cruise. I also believe if you collected the relevant amount of tokens and as long as you put them in separate envelopes you could go for as many cruises as you could. There was nothing that said "one entry per household" or some such. They just bit off more than they could chew.

Hooray - at last - I have got my cruise !! Nearly two years on and I now have a cruise! Not the one I was supposed to have orginally (that was a Western Caribbean) but a Med one. Got a letter from The Cruise Store with a few options and just a few dates, most of which were unsuitable - but finally agreed on one leaving on 15 July'06! Yes, I have had to pay the £35 fuel surcharge, plus a £40 supplement to fly from my home airport of Newcastle, but, hey, it's still a bargin! I have never been on a cruise before so am really looking forward to try a new experience, which was why I went for the offer in the first place. I was told that they are just letting the cruises out slowly, so there is still hope for those who have not yet got theirs, so don't give up!

Thanks, I sure I will enjoy it! I am going on 'Mediterranean Explorer' with Island Cruises on board Island Star. This ship used to be known as Horizon, with Celebrity Cruises, but has had a refit this winter and started as Island Star this spring, so should be all nice and fresh !! I can't wait !!

I too received the letter yesterday (21st) and am now to go on the 20th May Island Star cruise. Naturally I won't believe it until I hold the tickets in my hand.
