or 18 in Robs case Jackie!!!
i think there is some truth in that whole re inventing yourself bit...i keep saying i am going to re invent myself as someone young, fit, and slender..but i keep coming back as me, knocking 40, absolutely knackered and figure spreading easier than butter...
this week, i have managed to stay motivated enough to go swimming and generally eat well. I have stayed off the voddy and am hoping this pays dividends later on when i am weighed. I had a drastic image change when i had my long, curly hair cut short a la Lisa Stansfield look at the weekend and i do feel this has contributed to my motivation levels this week..
The bit i am looking forward to the most is shopping for new clothes and also not looking like a beached whale next to my younger, slender sister in law when we all go on hols together later this year...what is everyone else looking forward to?
I think I'm a bit too young to reinvent myself. At my age they call it an identity crisis....
My son thinks ancient history was 1985 ( seriously, he asked me where i was in ancient history in 1985 when they were doing about the original band aid at school!) and Robs daughter thinks everyone over 30 should be in an old folks home..
The boy also inspires me to slim when he says " Mum, you are the same age as Kylie and she has a much better body than you"..the girl, who is stick thin cannot understand what all the fuss is about...
One day.. one day..
I was being cautious when I said 12st. My hubby is 15st and I thought if I said 'Lose 15st of ugly fat' I would have got slated by those lucky women who have 6ft tall super fit looking men, with really toned muscles and a six pack to die for.
I must stop this day dreaming and get on with some housework.
Speak soon
Regards Jackie
A good haircut always makes you feel a bit lighter Val.
Me and my pal 'Will Power' fell out last night and I had 1/2 a bottle of wine so I made me a new friend called 'Gaynor Waite'
sometimes Gaynor Waite is better company than Will Power ( who i have heard can be a little boring sometimes as he is such a party pooper!)
Why only half a botlle now you have another half to finish tonight.
I'm sure no one will hold it against you for ditching 'Will Power' for a while.
At least you know him, i've never met him in my life
Jackie
Well, I feel really today, went out for a meal last night so drunk lager and ate chunky chips. Got up with all good intentions of going the gym this morning, but I really cannot be bothered.
Only been spinning once this week and have not done any other exercise all week
Joolz I too have to share you mate Gaynor for this week.
I have enjoyed reading the past threads ladies and tittered to myself. I have not really had time to come on HT this week and missed the one liners from Joolz and the funny bantering that goes on.
I feel totally fed up, deflated and know that I must start the housework, if I do it all in 2 hours then I have to burn something off don't I
Well thats enough about little old me ( I wish)
Speak later
Have a good weekend
Kazeexx
Kazee, I wouldnt beat yourself up over it, I've had a really heavy (literally) week this week and managed to gain 2lb and only have 4 weeks to my hols. Tickets arrived today and have given me a bit more incentive to climb back on the 'good' wagon and really try! Going shopping this afternoon - maybe do some power walking then off to the gym tomorrow and as often as poss during the week and just hope I can shift these extra lbs by next Friday!!
Why do men seem to lose weight instantly the minute they decide they are going to?
My problem is portion sizes. I think. Chocolate and cakes and stuff I'm not really bothered by, but boy do I like a good drink! I have found that going to the gym works twofold though - getting some well needed exercise and also seems to stop me getting bottles of wine in!
Willpower for this week back on track for gym and no booze! 4 weeks to holiday.
D - determination+drive
I - inspiration (that's what this threads for)
E - encouragement (just log on when you need a bit)
T - triumph (we can do it )
Thanks for that Joolz, I'm just off to the gym, dont really fell like it as I'm now full of cold but got to keep motivated!
I am too, in about an hour. I've been talking myself out of going but have just told myself about being rubbish when I'm only going to sit around on my backside doing nothing anyway!
Good for you SandC - I've just got back and feel so much better for it!
Joolz you are a star, thats what you are. ( thought there was a song coming on then) I dont half laugh at your threads. Are you really a stand up comedian....... I do not mean like Jo Brand either
Hey, hey, hey its weigh day A very early good morning to you all, I'm rushing about for work but just had to come on and share my excitement with all my "dieting buddies". I have lost a whopping 3lbs this week which takes me past my first stone, 16lb to be precise Don't forget that's since January though. I kept getting on and off the scales to make sure they were right, I just couldn't believe my eyes.
Hope you all had a good weekend.
Joolz that is brilliant, you go girl
Hope those of you who are weighing in today get the results you want
Jackie
Rob lost weight this weekend..mainly because he ate a dodgy KFC while we were in Huddersfield and spent the rest of the weekend in the bathroom! I managed to gain 4lbs overnight, but this is not exactly the best time of the month so i am crabby as well!
Neither of us has had any alcohol and we have our exercise plan mapped out for this week. Hopefully, we can get back on track.
Good luck for everyone this week. I am sure we can do it, especially with Joolz comedy routine to keep us going!
Although I have lost 2.5 stone, I have gone through 3 "stone barriers" if you get what I mean, so that makes it seem better!
Had a bit of a waver on Saturday due to a chinese takeaway and some peanuts, but it doesn't seem to have done any damage... my birthday this week could be a blip in proceedings, but instead of being fat, flabby and forty four I am thinking fit, firm and forty four to keep my motivation levels up!!
Here's to a good week everyone!
With regards to your birthday, I'm sure you will be forgiven if you sin.
It was our Anniversary last week and we went for a meal with our friends at the weekend. We started with drinks indoors, then Champagne cocktails at the restaurant plus a bottle of wine for us two ladies then a few voddy and cokes after the meal which was delicious, then back home for more drinks. I did have some good intentions to try and start eating/drinking a bit healthier but that got totally blown out of the water, but do I care NO because I had a brilliant evening with great company and that is what life is all about - having fun
Regards Jackie
