Diet starts today... For real this time. So far 100 sit ups and 100 steps; tuna salad for lunch, with a banana for pudding... Just a shame my "leftover" birthday cake is taunting me from the kitchen.
Just been weighed and the 2 pound I put on last week has gone (think the time of the month had a lot to answer for) so I've still got 2 pound to lose and only one week to go, do you think I'll do it
Since last Thursday, I have lost five pounds in weight.
I have three and a half stones to lose, but I am going to take it in small stages. I have been on diets before and have given up as the amount of weight I need to lose seems so vast and unacchievable that I give up after about 12 pounds weight loss.
This time I am determined to lose a lot as I am fed up with feeling ill most of the time.
I dread hot summers as I feel hot and sticky most of the time.
I am also fed up with having to wear balloon knickers and huge bras that you can use as sling shot.
One thing that helps me is that I have a photograph of me when I was slimmer. It is helping me to focus on the healthy eating.
I like this discussion as I know you may all feel the same.

I am now going to have a small bowl of porridge with a teaspoon of pumpkin seeds/pine nuts/linseed. YUMMY!!
It is only tuesday, and i still feel pretty energetic and enthusaistic, so swimming and eating lots of fruit etc but by the time the end of the week comes, all my energy has gone and motivation levels plummet, Maybe i should get weighed at the beginning of every week rather than the end..
another question..does anyone know of a low calorie alcohol that will have the same effect as copious amounts of vodka????? The world cup starts soon..and my will power will go out the window as we watch all the matches in the pub..
You can have white wine and soda or white alcohol such as gin and vodka with low calorie tonic water.
Low alcohol wines are yukky as are low calorie lagers.

That's what I tell myself anyway.
I have some nice ripe peaches this week to snack on at work. Yum!
Jackie, what a great idea.. i have done this many times...and still the weight does not fall off me!
Bless 'im.
As for the drink, vodka is the best, but if you go for the cheaper brands it's better for you. Trust me though, that is not an excuse to buy a bottle of white lable to top up cocktails because it gives you a hangover. And can make you go blind.
Weight watchers have a wine out, but it tastes a bit, well, shit. Normal wine has the same amount of sugar as a can of cola, so be sure to steer clear of it!
Pint of bitter 200
Low-alcohol lager 100
Pint of cider 250
Glass champagne 80
Large red wine 160
Large rose wine 170
Large sparkling wine 180
Large white wine 150
Port 80
Sherry 55
Gin 50
Vodka 50
Whiskey 50
Jack Daniels 60
Southern Comfort 70
Baileys 80
Tia Maria 75
Fruit juice mixer 50
Fizzy mixer 50
So white spirits are about as good as it gets.
cool, so if i don't have any tea, i can have 10 vodka's for 500 calories, two tonic mixers for a further 100..sorted....thanks everyone!
right..have done the good bit and swum my 20 lengths, have had an orange afterwards and now i am on the wind down with my 50 calorie shot of vodka, loads of no calorie ice and a weeny weeny splash of tonic...i definitely should not gain any weight surely....
Hi folks, hope you are all getting on well. One more 12hr shift then I'm off for a week. Got a really heavy week ahead with our Lakes weekend, then daughters 18th, then "supper club" with some of the girlies - 5 nights of eating out even with Will Power firmly by myside I'm bound to put weight on. We all know that the best exercise is one of discretion so I will choose very carefully from the menus.
does anyone know how to stop my tummy from swelling up on holiday. no mater how much wheight i loose before i go away as soon as i get there my legs swell then my belly comes out in sympathy and stays out for the rest of my stay. i try to avoid bread and pasta but to no avail.
A few years ago I got some water tablets from the doctor to take, but I took too many and ended up fainting with dehydration not good, so I just put up with it now, leave mother nature well alone.
When my belly swells on holiday its generally down to many San Miguels. Swelling of hands and feet is generally down to the heat, sometimes I can't my shoes on or rings off.
