Hi Deb_ie
Your're welcome, glad i could help.
Tracy
Iam going to Thailand on wednesday ( ) and am trying to find a mosquito plug in repeller thingy but the only ones I can find have the european adaptors on them and I cant find an adaptor for the european adaptor! (if you know what I mean cos Im not sure I do!)
Iam sure somewhere sells them but they must be hiding them from me because I have looked in all the usual places like boots, tesco, savers, superdrug! (I know the thailand plugs are the same as Australia and the U.S.A if that helps!)
stace1983 - is it possible to buy the plug-in things with a UK plug, and then plug that it to a Far East/Australia adaptor? I'm sure I've seen mozzie plug-ins with UK plugs...
I've only ever seen it in the huge stores though (in my case "The Meadows" near Camberly)
I can't vouch for how good it is, I just saw it on the shelf as I was comparing prices.
[Ive just come back from Tingaki and had 78 bites I used the plug in the room and insect repellant after sun lotion to no avail. If you are like me and have a severe reaction and mozzies love you I suggest wearing long trousers at night and keep arms covered, even when I covered up I got bites on my face and ears!! The gnashers on these pests are the worst I've ever encountered on the four of the greek islands I've visited this time of year.
Oh Gawd! I'm off to Tingaki on Thus and was hoping it was a bit early for them..... I'm one of the ones who are breakfast dinner and lunch too them!!
I had hoped to put Citronella with it, but I have read that this essential oil is best avoided whilst pregnant.
Thanks.
we go to oludeniz every year and the spray we found most affective on mozzies is called sin kov brought in most of the shops over there and it only costs a few lera.we spray it on after our evening showers just before we go out for our evening meal. all the family use it including children and find it to be the best one.
The SS Avon dry oil spray is fine to use whilst you are pregnant, and to be honest you don't need to put any Citronella in it as it works fine on its own. I think people add extras just to be sure but it really is OK on its own

Hi all ! I read a tip in a magazine a couple of years back and it really does work. Take Brewers yeast tablets for a month before you go away. Apparently it alters the constituency of persperation and repels the blighters.
Just back fro icmeler Turkey and not one mozzie bite among the family. We took Vit B 2 weeks before going and 1 every day on holiday.
Hi Kilda - are you sure you took vitamin B2 and not vitamin B1? Taking thiamine (vitamin B1) is effective in reducing mosquito bites. It produces a skin odour that is not detectable by us humans, but repels mosquitoes. My husband swears by it. But I didn't know B2 did the same.
i think it said two weeks before holidays not vitamin b2
It was Vit B 1, I should have put in a comma. Sorry to confuse you.
Just a quick post to let you know that in Avon Brochure 11 the SSS Dry oil body spray is only £2 per bottle instead of £5

Mozzies, well anything which fancys a meal usually make a meal of me so really want to take every reasonable precaution?
Help and advice gratefully appreciated.
Cheers
I favor Garlic or garlic pills for 2 weeks before and whilst away the wife prefers brewers yeast the med mozzies seem to leave us alone now
We took the Vit B1 a couple of years ago and the smell of them was enough to frighten us off never mind the mozzies. I then found (sorry about this bit) they repeated on me all the time. Has anyone found any that might be nice to take ie with a coating on.
just heard from my son who's in corfu at the moment. His news was nice hotel, heatwave(38 degrees) and he's full of mosquito bites. Even after using jungle formula repellant, avon after sun with repellant and a mossie plug-in in room. I was told today that there is an infestaion in a lot of countries at the moment.
We're off to Turkey in 7 weeks, up to now I've bought the stinky wrist bands, the Jungle Formula plug-in and Avon SSS oil spray, I'm off to get some of that Boots 50% DEET spray next week, that seems to come highly recommended, but I'm really concerned about this - we usually go to the Canaries and never had a problem with mossies beforeI was told today that there is an infestaion in a lot of countries at the moment.
