'Mosquito buzzers worth queried'....
I was at the Sol cayo coco in July/Aug. I took mossy bands, jungle formu;a, 100 deet...skin so soft. Nothing worked still got bitten.
We used the Boots own brand plug in moxxie repellants - and Jungle Formula spray in the evenings (Kenya) - we were wearing trousers/long skirts int the evening (children didn't !!) - didn't get bitten once - and I usually get eaten in Spain !!
... forgot to add - the room had air conditioning..does this help ??
Hi, does anyone know if citronella essential oil works against the dreaded mossies. Ive tried allsorts. Hate the smell of the avon woodland. Please help
went to fuerteventura in august and took 2 plug in things bought from our local supermarket.had great difficulty in plugging them in so had to buy an adapter whilst in corralejo.it seem,s as though the pins on the plug werent long enough to connect to the socket properly.
saying that we didnt see a single mossie in the 11 days we were there
My problem now is, although may sound stupid, but do I put the Jungle spray on first and then some of the sos dry oil or the other way round.
I dont want to stop one of them working properly as I'm prone to bites.
sorry for sounding daft but rather be safe than sorry,
sam
No bites between the three of us, we used it last year as well and didn`t get bitten then either.
with mozzies i will use them again i also used avon woodland fresh
best stuff to buy when in the Dominican Republic is called 'OFF' it works really well and smells ok, the Avon sos stuff works ok but not as well as OFF
if you still have nasty mossie bites from coming home from your holiday tip is have a bath with t,c,p, 2 cap full in the bath ( from a small 100ml bottel) my bites came out at home yes the big red bites. (back on a monday night then on a tuesday had bites ) put t,c,p, in the bath then on the wednesday the red ness all away by thursday no more
i used avon insect repellant and sun screen lotion , we did get bite but on little ones , also a pen you can buy from boots called After bite , if you use this when u first get bite then it usually solves it ! hope this helps
the locals know the best stuff to use.. we used citronella oil/water in a spray and did all the window frames, wardrobes etc. Citronella incense sticks and bands. You name it we used it. Avon SSS as well - my husband swears by it. Also close the shutters but leave the windows open so they can get out. The repellent does what it should but doesnt kill them so they need to get away.
'Malaria health warning to Britons'
Good info. for those exotic places. Why take the risk when going to these countries? A friend regularly goes to Ghana every year for 3 months and doesnt any chances he knows how deadly it can be.
hi peoples ,your actual mossie bite discomfort is not the real problem, homeopathic remedies not answer forget your soft gentle skin .BUY your MALARONE and do not get MALARIA .if you dont you may DIE ,cheers maxie
'Renewed warning of malaria risks'
don,t want to alarm people but when you go to countries with maleria we all know you have to take the pills off doctor, but please remember to continue with the course when you return home as a old work collegue of mine stopped taking them when she got home ,as she was home had no problems and with a family ,carried on with her hectic life, that was until she was rushed into hospital several weeks later, she is now dead, all because she thought it was ok to stop taking them,we hear these stories but until you know of somone it has happened to,it hits home.
