hi daveyt, yes Igot fed up being a private ear and decided to take early retirement into civil service (jobcentree). god it was easier being cetective--less hassle.
never been to cyprus before. so we are all looking forwardto it..i won't be too cruel towards yer singing..i cannnae sing myself, but like a good swally and laugh!!hehe
(does anyone know when exactly the waterpark in ayia napa shuts for end of season at all?????????
I wasnt a huge fan of Ayia Napa, the beach was littered with toe-stubbing rocks and its certainly has the feeling that it could all go off seriously at night time around the square (too many young egos in a frustrating bar area). However Paddys bar was good fun although as usual it cost a little more for a drink of the Liffey water!
two minutes " is this the stop for the water park" and he'd shout " no! i will tell you! i will tell you!
once in there, there are some incredible rides like atlantis (in the dark at high speed) the giant funnel which spins you round a sort of whirlpool and dumps you into a deep pool at the end of it and my favorite the "slingshot" which i can't explain but screamed all the way through it oh happy days !
Taking a bus trip in Protaras is indeed a holiday experience in itself - some of the drivers seem to be verging towards insanity. I thought the one we had was going to get out of the bus and start beating it (like Basil Fawlty), when we came to that steep hill by Cape Grecko- there were that many people on it I thought it would never make it!
oh yes that steep hill 5 mph all the way up with a dirty black cloud coming from the exhaust! the last few stops before the waterpark the busdriver would drop his window and bellow at people waiting at the bus stop on the other side of the road " DON'T MOVE! I WILL BE ROUND TO YOU IN FIVE MINUTES!
thoroughly lloking forward to our first trip to cyprus in october. arrive sunday 15th october at midnight. so we'll be getting a nap so as we are fresh for our big first night trip out on monday.
hopefully help with your 2nd week blues then!!
will we hear you before we see you then at the karaoke
our kids are 14 and just turned 11, so hope they enjoy it too.
i take it ye like a wee sing song then!!
trev.
yes trev , do like to pretend i'm jim kerr on the karaoke who i'm sure you'll of heard of if i'm guessing correctly you're scottish too. unfortunately; though i act like him, thats where the comparision ends and my vocal ability is not that of the great man . however the translation of the japanese word karaoke is "cra* singer" and at least i can do a ronseal and do " exactly what it says on the tin" cardiff lad's breathing a sigh of relief he's missing me by one week
I thought "Karaoke" meant "empty orchestra"
mmmm, you've got me now.. i always thought it mean't the other. i shall find out and repost
yep i stand corrected . sure i heard it before as "cra*singer" maybe it just applies to me its not just empty orchestra its empty pub too!
That'll be interesting davetraceyuk, Cyprus won't know what to do with itself with me and you singing within a couple of weeks.
i'm hoping you're worse than me cl to make me look good when i arrive! bit like you don't mind torrential rain when you had a hurricane the week before!
I'm the opposite to what people think of the Welsh. I can't sing.
thoroughly looking forward to cyprus though...........just as long as you don't empty the bars dave.althought that would mean there would be no queue at the bar :P, so sing away matey.
aye you are correct, I'm a scottish type british person
you both been to protaras a few times then?
It's a bit difficult shoestring, i've never seen a sheep in Cardiff, well aprt from chopped up in Asda.
i've only been once before, last year. i used to go to tenerife religiously year after year but had heard about protaras and thought i'd give it a go. the big differences i found was the weather is definitely more reliable in cyprus, theres no touts thrusting scratchcards in your face every ten minutes and the cypriots are very friendly. hence my return this year
I remember speaking to you about your karaoke exploits in the Zodiac davetraceyuk and now it looks like I'm heading out on Oct 8th as well, so I'll be able to hear you for myself!
hi kezzabelle, we can do a countdown together now i was wondering how you are at "summer nights" because i can see a forum member karaoke duet forming here that way we can share the boos! i promise if you sing with me i'll sing in my best key ... ( the door key!)
You could be onto an idea there, I love karaoke
you'll be able to spot us easily kezza, my daughter is up on stage just about every other song. for the second year running i'll be celebrating my birthday in the zodiac too on the 9th. i got a free cocktail and a rendition of happy birthday on stage last year. .however i lied about my age and took five years off..........unfortunately my daughter put them right
