On your own its a good 10 minute walk, with three kids, a husband and a pram its about 20 minutes, stopping on the way for flip flop adjustments :D Its a pleasant walk but watch out for market touts... (there were only the odd one or two) but they made you laugh by saying 'cheaper than asda price' Sun Glasses etc are cheaper if you go to saturday market and you can always barter there.

Its 9 euro for 2 beds an a brolly at the beach. We'd met another family so we had four beds and we put our own brollies up between the beds and the kids played in the sand in the shade. There is a fruit seller on the beach that comes round at lunch time, he shouts 'tuti fruiti and I coco' the kids thought he was brill. My youngest kids wore sun suits all day (the 40 spf ones) which were fab protection as there is a better breeze at the beach than the pool, but boy do you burn.

Pools at complex are all in walking distance but we chose to stay around the pool near our apartment for convenience.

Thanks for the great review 5time. We are really looking forward to it now :D

Does anyone know if there are many umberallas or parasols around the sunbeds at the pools. On previous reviews it sounds like the complex were short of them but well needed for the shade and heat especially for the younger children avoiding getting too sunburnt. Any comments on this would be appreciated :?:

They are very limited. We were there 2 weeks and never got one but we never went down at 8 o'clock to put the towels out like most people were doing.

The weather was perfect for us... about 75-80 at the hotest part of the day.

Our kids were out in the sun but never got burned because they always kept there hats on (even in the pool), always has their swinsuits on and
we put a high factor sun cream on them every hour or so.

There is a bar next to the main pool so you can always go in there and have a drink or a game of something if you want to get out of the sun for a while.

Fans - It seems hit and miss - our room had no fan but next dor had 2 - I went straight down to reception and asked for a fan and one appeared the next day. The rooms were quite hot at night but not unbearable.

Kids club - my kids loved the kids club - its on most days (if not all). They kids would go between 10 and 12 and again 5:30 till 7:30 but there are other sessions as well.

The beech 10 - 15 mins to the closest one - but there is a nicer one which is 20 minutes walk or 2 euros 50 in a taxi.

Thanks 5time, got a bit worried after reading about all the break ins, just hope we are in block c :? . Only three weeks to go and cant wait!! Thanks for all the info :)

Regarding the security.

From what I could make out thety seem to happen in the evening when most people are out.

I kept my tickets and passports in the safe and all my money always in my pocket.

I would just say don't leave anything worth much in the apartments.

The reps told me there had not been any breakins for a month or so but I didn't believe her because I had read about them on here and heard about them on the site. Don't let it spoil your holiday.
Just be vigilant e.g. If the cleaner (or maintenance for any reason) is in when your going out make sure you ask them to lock the door and close any windows.

Thanks 5time for the info on the umberallas. Just one more question, was the safe secure in the room as a few have mentioned that the safe can be removed. Did you not find that?
Reply
thank you for all the info, we have got some cable ties for the windows and doors, but it is very naughty of the reps to deny the break ins.
Reply
If your in C there is no point in the cable ties - I took them and there is no way you can use them.

Can't say about A or B though.

The safe in our room seemed to be secure although I have read somewhere some are not bolted down.

Thanks again. I think we will pack some cable ties just in case. To everyone going on Wednesday, see you out there on saturday :D

im going in september staying in the kids dens. is the gym /fitness suite still open as i have had a letter to say that there will be no crazy golf .tennis etc
how much is it for the day trip to lanzarote? went there last year the best holiday ive had!
Reply
The gym is open but I would call it much of a fitness suite.

There is a squah court, a few weight machines (mainly broken) and a few free weights. I went a couple of times but its not great. You have to go to reception to ask for the key if the door is locked.

Not sure how much the trip to Lanzarote is. We didn't go across. We went upto Corralejo (spelling?) and thought the town you visit in Lanzarote is probably much the same as there.

this company seem very good, we are going to book most of our trips through them (after looking at what the reps have to offer.)

but going by thompsons trip prices they are a lot cheaper!

i booked with first choice online they are cheaper than the travel agents and i had a good look around at the time of booking and was the cheapest on the internet .plus they give you prices for all dates and a wide range of airports so you can look for the cheapest time to go

Yes it is on the complex. Its underground so theres no disturbance to the nearby appartments. Not 100% sure but I think it is adults only.

>> what is the irish bar like?

Exactly the same as the other bars but with green painted walls.

>> can children go in?

Yes

>> is there any family bars /pubs outside the complex that children
>> can go to

There are a few bars 100 yards away from the complex - I believe children can go in all these. Alternatively you can walk down to the town (10 mins)

It's like asking how long is piece of string.

You can spend as little or as much as you want.

Some of the people we went with ate and drank at the hotel everyday so basicallly they spent nothing. I got bored in the 2nd week and ate out a few days - Chinese banquet for 2 with 2 bottles of wine 40 euros's - meal for 5 - 50 euro's - these are just examples of the prices if your going to eat out.

We hired a car which worked out at 30 euro's a day and went to the water park 55 euro's entry for 2 adults and 2 kids (need extra money when your in as they charge for everything). We also went to Oasis safari which we really enjoyed - this was 130 euros (camel ride included in that) for 4 adults and 2 kids.

So bascially it depends on what your looking to do.

If your kids like the pool and going to the kids club then theres enough going on on the site to keep you occupied otherwise you may want to go into town and to the beech (9 euros for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella) NB there is a charge for some of the kids club activities such as McDonalds evening.

You can pick up cigs in town for about 15 euros for 200 - so there dirt cheap.

after reading the posts i reckon im going to get some good insurance.its looks like most break ins are in the older a and b blocks . i have booked a kids den so will be in c block which has double glazing
on concerning the amount of money to take we are all inclu so only taking 600 eoros for a week this is to buy water, car hire, day trip to lanza, beach beds, and treats for the kids.i think we wil only eat off the complex maybe one night.
as long as the beach is clean ,beer ,food, icecreams are plently we will have a great time
has anyone got any photos they can upload onto the site to put peoples minds at rest .i think when i come back in sept i will put some up
