Hi Michelle sorry you were delayed, your journey sounded horrendous. We got home on time with no problems. Did you get my text?
I would agree with Michelle that the problems we both encountered were being dealt with and things had settled down before we ended our holiday. The last few days were as a holiday should be with the kids having fun in the pool etc. The kids all enjoyed the kids club which gave us a welcome break for a few hours and the entertainment both day and evening was good fun. We joined in most of the activities - if you want any quiz answers just ask the Savlons - eh Michelle?
Problems aside we had a good holiday, largely thanks to our friendship with Michelle and Jay.
We went on a few of the trips which were well organised, the waterpark is small with only about half a dozen slides but enjoyable, especially for the kids. Like others on this site have said there is a height restriction and kids under this have to wear armbands. The lifeguards are quite strict but its for the right reasons. We also went to Oasis park and enjoyed being kissed by a sealion, stroking a crocodile and best of all riding on the camels, this was a good day out and made a change from being in the water. The boat trip to Lanzarote was also a nice change although we only had about 3 hours actually in Puerto del Carman so didn't get to see that much before getting back on the boat.
If you are going to Club Caleta Dorada I'm sure you'll have an enjoyable holiday, the complex is well situated and some of the accomodation has stunning views over the bay/beach.
Kieron and the rest of his team will do their best to keep you entertained both day and night and if you've got kids then get them to try the kids club - particularly the bugs bunny party on Tuesdays - you'll get a whole 4 hours to yourselves.
I will post a full review when I get time to write one.
Michelle - keep in touch.
