Hi to shirleyH by the way, welcome to the dieting thread (there's a distinct lack of men here!).
I had a strange dream last night. In it, I was with friends, it looked like I was abroad. I decided to hell with it and got a big bowl of chocolate pudding (for some reason covered with milk but that's dreams for you!). Honestly it tasted delicious, it was a real lifelike dream! My friend's boyf appeared and he was laughing saying 'you lot with your puddings, look at you, you've gone bright red with embarrassment cos you shouldn't be eating that.'.
How bizarre.
I've swapped to soya milk (cholesterol) and brown rice instead of white. Essentially low fat all the way and actually it's going fine. Just got to watch portion sizes and sugar cos I'm using it as a bit of an excuse to scoff haribo jelly sweets.
I'm having a week out Been working loads therefore indulging on chox and biccies at work as been very busy I just thought I deserved them (didn't even taste good but didn't stop me taking more). Also went to McD's on way home last night. Going away for weekend so I'll start a fresh next week.
Realised that this had to stop as my gym subscription was a waste, so managed to heave myself back on to the wagon and get going again. To summarise (this is since about March): lost 3 stone 3 lbs, put on a total of 9lbs, took off seven lbs, put it back on again and have now taken it off again Phew!!! I'm tired just working it all out!!!
Now back to the gym every second day, and got the nice skinny lady there to do me a programme which I now follow religiously - feeling loads better, and 2 people asked me about my weight loss yesterday at work. Whoohoo!! Now my loss stands at 3 stone 4lbs and I am determined to try and stay on the wagon. Holidays again in 2 weeks so hope to shift a few more lbs by then. Stopping exercising was my major downfall - if I'm on the treadmill I can't hold a glass of wine!
GOod luck everyone - I kept reading even when I was too ashamed to post!
welcome back meerkat....no need to be ashamed at your weight yo yo ing.. i am sure you will be a loser again
Steer clear of Tesco all you dedicated dieters - fab wine offers. I'm just back
I've already decided to have some wine tonight so you are not alone!
and i indulged in the odd voddy and coke or 5..so you were definitely not alone...but i should burn off loads today as i have my MV & A refresher course and will spend the day rolling round scrapping and exerting energy for approx 8 hours..
Thanks for the welcome. Don't think I'll start the healthy eating plan until after the weekend. I've booked to go away to London for the weekend at the end of October so hopefully this will be incentive enough for me to lose a couple of pounds. If I don't I won't fit into any of my tidy clothes. Monday is the day to start cutting down (I think :?:)
Boo, hoo, hoo it's weigh day After a week and a half of copious amounts of vino, fruit scones, choccie biccies, McDonalds(twice!) and NOT going to the gym I have put on 3lb. No-one but my lazy, greedy self to blame. Now I've 11lb to lose in 5wks.
I decided to weigh myself today, came back yesterday from a week in Magaluf so was expecting the worst - I've lost 4lbs! Must have been pushing my niece in her buggy all week, no wonder my arms were killing me! Given me some incentive to get back on the healthy wagon now too.
Anyway, back to the diet on Monday (giving myself the weekend to indulge as hubby not back to work until then and we are going for a wedding anniversary meal tomorrow night). Will report in again next week with my glowing weight loss (feeling optimistic )
Keep up the good work everyone
Sarah
Glad to hear you had good holibagz Sarah! 4lb is bugger all, you'll burn that off in no time. I put 3lb on in a week just by nibbling on naughties at work, oh aye, and supping lots of vino.
Hi all. Taken the plunge and started a little exercise. Went walking twice last week with a few girls from work. I'm letting myself down on the food front though I'm still reaching for the crisps and the chocolate biscuits in the evening. We're off out for a meal and a couple of drinks this evening as it's my friends birthday but I'm going to try and be a little bit sensible about what I stuff. My goal for next week is to stop the crisps. Trouble is I'm not much of a fruit eater so I don't know what I'll eat when I get a craving for a snack. Speak to you soon.
I am a crisp fiend as well but I have discovered the snack-a-jacks range and specifically the mini bagals and mini breadsticks. They are a lot lower in fat than a packet of crisps but they are quite nice. I also really like the caramel rice cakes (the large ones ) which are good for a sweet craving. They might help.

My problem isn't my actual weight,it's my body just gets fatter and fatter!!!!!!! I think it's something to do with my age++the vino!!!!!!
Ever expanding------------!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck to everyone!!!
P.S Does anyone else have this problem???????
I have the same thing. I am 5' 10" tall and have always been a size 12. Never really had a problem with weight, I could always eat what I want. About six months ago I started to feel bloated, but as you say not putting on weight. I know from my clothes it is just my 'trunk', haven't got the problem anywhere else. Just feel that I am not as comfortable in the same size around my waist anymore. Is it age or is it time to start excercising?
Regards Jackie
4wks to lose 8lb before Beni. 29wks to maintain weight loss till Majorca and 39.5wks till main summer hols
I think it's an age thing!!!!or thats my excuse for not exercisi ng
I just can't get motivated to exercise,I do in my head but then when it comes to the reality I'd rather sit down with a glass wine or two and watch telly------------Lazy or what!!!!!!!!!!!
Think about it this way. You have proved that you can lose 3lb in a week. Therefore, if you behave ( ) and avoid the naughty things ( ) you can, in theory, lose at least 12lb in the four weeks you have left before Beni. You go girl
I wish I could have as many trips as you - with all that incentive I would be as thin as a super model by now
Sarah
