We've been twice, last time in August this year. Yes it is in a remote area and there really isn't anything nearby. The nearest resort is Playa Paraiso but that is pretty dismall, very grotty, but ok for some shopping. Taxi there costs about 4 euros, walk takes about 20 minutes. Taxi to Costa Adeje area near to the Del Duque area was about 12 euros, there you will find plenty of shops, bars etc without having to go Playa las Americas.
To be honest, the remote area suited us just fine, after all, Tenerife isn't exactly known for its sophisticated nightlife and in the Bahia Principe hotels there is plenty to keep you occupied of an evening. 5 lovely a la carte restaurants, a buffett restaurant, snack bars, 3 bars (I recommend a drink on the terrace of the Bahia Principe 'Tenerife' section - lovely views and waiter service too and usually a singer/duo act). What we enjoyed was the 'shows' and kids entertainment was entirely separate from the other bars etc which meant you didn't have to sit through it (although they did work very hard to put on a good show).
I'm sure you won't miss going out and about of an evening too much, and if you do, just jump in a taxi for some variation.
Have a great time - we'll certainly go back.
my husband & i are due to visit this hotel for a week on the 27 feb for our anniversary & the more i read the more apprehensive i'm becoming..i know a holiday is what u make it yourselves but can anyone give us advice on making our holiday more enjoyable..for eg, we will be wanting to venture out a couple of times to the fanabe area & reading the reports this doesnt sound easy to do or sounds expensive..what's all this about differnt restaurants to choose from when you arrive & what's all this about which hotel you will be put in, i thought it was one hotel called bahia principe..any help or suggestions greatly appreciated as this isnt a cheap holiday for us, thank you, lynda
I was in this hotel last June. the hotel is divide in two. On one side of the road is the adeje side and the other side is the Tenerife. We were in the adeje side and did not feel we needed to go across to the other one. The buffet you don't need to book but there are three speciality restaurants. you do need to book these. I would say book as soon as possible. We had booked to go to the fish one but cancelled as the buffet was to everyones taste and there was five of us. The hotel is well out on its own and again we only went into Las americas once. There is a bus i think three times a day. Taxis are always outside of the Hotel Any other questions ask.
the outside/pool area is quite hilly at this hotel. My husband has heart problems so we used the inside of the hotel to get around. eg when we wanted to go from pool area to buffet.
Thanks debbymark. Any hints on the best routes or locations appreciated. This evening I am trying to read the rest of this thread
If you replied to this I may have missed it, so I'm having another go.....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,
I have been previously to the Bahia Principe Tenerife in a Junior Suite, and found it too small for our family, i.e. mam, dad, teenage son & daughter.
One travel company is offering Villa Junior Suites at the Bahia Principe Costa Adeje......Has anyone stayed in one of these??????
Thanks
Hi - we stayed in a villa junior suite at the end of August last year and have booked to go again this year. There are 4 of us but our children are much younger than yours - 6 and 2. We have previously been and stayed in a junior suite so know the differences well. The suites are all in small blocks mostly by the pool, between the Italian and Spanish restaurants (block 8 ) or right at the top of the complex as you come out of reception on the left of the huge terrace (block 7). We stayed in block 7. The rooms are huge, much bigger than the junior suite. Ours was L shaped with a dressing area and the bathroom making up the rectangle. The queen bed was in the long part of the room with the dressing table etc and the living area with sofa and a 2nd TV was in the bottom part of the L. There was loads of floor space. Our daughter was in a cot at the time so don't know what they do about another bed? We had a ground floor suite and I would highly recommend emailing a request for this as our balcony was HUGE! Complete with our own sunbeds and umbrella! All the ground floor suites I saw had this. Initially we were disappointed we were not in block 8 near the pool however some of the villas are close together down there so by the end of our holiday we were pleased we were block 7. We were above the dining room and bar area so it was ideal for us as I could put the children to bed and send husband down to the bar for drinks quite easily!
From piccies of the hotel, the ones upstairs don't seem to have much of a balcony, is this so, and also are there only two units in each block or four??
Does anyone know if you are allowed to bring guests to the hotel ? We have friends staying in Adeje at the same time and would like to meet for a drink. I am unsure how this would work with the all-inclusive arrangements ?
Whilst we were staying at the Bahia Principe Tenerife in August 2005, my brothers who were staying in Los Christianos came to spend the day with us, and paid a daily rate to use the all-inclusive facilites, sorry, but I can't remember how much it was.
We are going to the Bahia Principe Tenerife this June. Can anyone please tell me if there is a dress code in the restaurants e.g. long trousers for men ?
Hi, I 'm also going to the bahia principe tenerife at the end of June, i think i read that you need to wear long trousers for the evening meal but can get away with 3/4 lengths.
we stayed here too and everyone did seem to dress up....especailly for the speciality restaurants
Thats alright i like to dress up a bit! I 'm taking two children, is there enough for them to do as i know the hotel is a bit out of the way! they are 9 and 10
Hi, I'm going to the bahia principe tenerife on 29th june for two weeks, anyone else going at this time! Also any tips from people that have been!!
if you have a late flight you can shower and change in the spa facility. Book your specialialty reastaurants as soon as possible as they get filled up quickly. The place to do this is straight across from the buffet entrance. the bus to Las americas goes three or four times a day. You have to come back on the one they tell you.
Anything else ask and I will try and help
Hi there, we were at the Bahia Principe last summer and were sat in the mexican restaurant near the doorway when the restaurant staff turned away a couple of men for wearing shorts. Returning in october this year, can't wait, it's excellent!!!
Have a suite booked for the Bahia Principe Adeje in July. Any recommendations on the best rooms to request (or ones to avoid !!) ?
