The 2nd Flyglobespan Boeing 767 has been in the paint shop in New Zealand and has now rolled out in FlyGlobespan colours.
The airline is also expected to take delivery of two Boeing 757's for proposed transatlantic services from various UK regionals.

Is the 767 is a long haul aircraft?
What is the seat pitch and layout on this aircraft.
thanks
Seating arrangements possibly better answered by others to this forum - 2-4-2 fairly standard to 767 operations? Unsure of any likely "premium" seating on this aeroplane.
Not that matters particularly, but this aeroplane is quite old - 1993 vintage I understand.

The aircraft (767-300ER) are ex New Zealand ships with a 3 class configuration. Economy is arranged 2-4-2 with 30" seat pitch, premium economy is 2-4-2 with 34" seat pitch (maybe 2-3-2 though) and business is 50" pitch sleeper seats arranged 2-2-2. I'm hopefully flying MAN - CPT with them next year in business, its quite reasonable for the money. For more info, everything in on Flyglobespans website.
Happy flying,
Darren

Thanks nivsy, Dazbo5 and aido for the replies. I tought it might be long haul as I'm sure it was a 767 we flew in to Majorca once and it had the 2-4-2 seating formation. Plane was a replacement as the original one had a broken engine, so they said anyway.

Apologies, just checked with a cabin crew friend with GSM who works long haul for them and it is 2-3-2. It's been a long day! Thanks for the correction Aido.
Darren
Are they really 2-3-2 in economy? Is that not quite good for 767 operators? From the 767's I have been on they were all 2-4-2 in economy.

2-3-2 is typical of schedule opperators, 2-4-2 typical of charter opperators. The exception is FCA which are light years ahead with their star class concept.

Globespan have released their Glasgow - Athens flights for next summer. Up almost £100 for 4 adults on last years fayre
With tax increases and fuel duty etc, and the chance to fly from Glasgow to Athens direct well worth paying.
Air Scotland also flies Glasgow to Athens.
Yeah, they do but.........would you want to fly with them when they own about 1 plane (last I heard) and with all the bother people had last year to get to their destinations with horrendous delays????????
The elderly B757 they used is now flying with Jet2 - although I do recall a while back seeing a white Airbus 320 at Malaga operating on behalf of Greece Airlines who certainly flew for Air Scotland.
Does the Air Scotland web site still exist?
Just getting back to FlyGlobespan - I think even if it is a little more expensive, it is imperative that the Scottish public in particular continue to support the operator. If they dont, routes will fall off - destinations will diminish - and Glasgow will once again be left with very limited direct services to Europe and beyond.

To avoid confusion in this thread for anyone researching Flyglobespan, it may be best if any discussion about Air Scotland is posted separately in their dedicated thread ....
My daughter and 6 friends want to go away next June, if the flights have to be paid for now I think they'll wait to after Xmas.
If it's just £50 p.p. like their holidays then I'll book up now for them.
Thanks for any info you can provide....
And Nivsy, you are right, we must continue to support Globespan, and I will, even although I harp on about the good old days with them!!!!
It seems that due to a change of aircraft, some Glasgow/Sanford services from late November through to mid January will be rescheduled to fly via St. Johns Newfoundland for refuelling. Web availability schedules do not appear to have been updated as yet to reflect that fact.
Possible fuel stopping requirement is that Boeing 737 800 series aircraft are being used at that time.
