I know there's blackjack and roulette, but I'm not sure about poker, don't think so.

There isn't a cash point, but there is a cashier's cage in the casino which is only open when the ship is at sea. Can't remember is you can charge your casino spend to your onboard account (I think you can) or whether it's cash.

You will find plenty ATM's in port for withdrawing euros. You can change TC's on the ship, but there can be a hefty commission charge.

Yes there is Polker, I know to my cost!!!
But did enjoy it, my £70 grew and shrank over 9 days until it all went.
Then I gave up!!

What does the nationality of the Destiny consist of.Cabin stewards/waiters etc.

Senior crew all Greek, cabin stewards/waiters mainly Philipino, bar staff seem to be a varied mixture. Couldn't fault any of them.

Hi all

I have just read the latest reviews for the destiny :yikes

Its not so much the toilet situation although thats REALLY bad :yuck

But the thing that is bothing me is that the stablisers are either not working or they are not getting used.
We went on the spirit last year and i never got sick once,ok maybe i had a slight pulling feeling once or twice but this lasted seconds but i thought i had sea legs. I am abit scared now as i think if i or hubby gets ill it will totally ruin our cruise :cry:

I already suffer from whopping hangovers and thats all the sickness i can deal with :lol:

Seasickness

Alsbaby,will try and let you know what the amount of stability on the ship,If I can get to a computer on one of our ports of call.I think we are going the week before you.
I did a spell of working away maintaining ships all over the world.Didnt get seasick once.Joined a ship in Portishead.Would you believe it, got sick sailing down the Bristol channel :yuck

When we sailed on The Destiny in June there was no problem with sea sickness, I just presumed the stablisers were working. It was very windy crossing from Toulon to Barcelona so they locked the doors to the outside decks but not much rocking motion felt even then.

Kerrie.We are off this coming Friday.Have banked our November Tenerife timeshare week this year to try our first cruise.Got to get my cabins power adapter today.Need to keep my camera and camcorder batteries powered up :lol:

alsbaby, when we were on 20 - 27th october the ship was very rocky even in calm waters. Having said that I do suffer badly from seasickness and half hour before each sailing took a boots travel calm tablet and never suffered once! Walking about was a good laugh from time to time, especially combined with the alchohol!!! I still enjoyed the cruise thoroughly (apart from the toilets!). :roll:

Jeccabean thanks for the tip about the tablets. I was thinking of taking sturgon ( spelling?? ) As they helped my little boy on the last flight we did and he is always sick but wasnt when he took them. I am thinking of taking them before we set sail even if i dont feel ill. What do you think???

I took Stugeron on my last cruise and was brilliant with them. Although it does say not to mix with alcohol.

Hi, been reading some of the posts over the last couple of weeks about the Destiny as we're sailing on her this coming Friday and looking forward to it. Only our 2nd cruise, went on the Celebration last year, fingers (or maybe legs) crossed that the toilet situation as resolved itself.

110v-240v power

Been looking at some power adapters for the Destiny.I read somewhere that the outlets in the cabins are American style 110v flat two pin.The only adapter that I have seen for sale is American 110v-240v, but has 3 pin. 2 flat and one round.Can anyone confirm whether the outlets are only for 2 pin, or do they have three.

I took travel sick tablets everytime we were due to sail and I was fine. Didn't want to wait to feel ill then have to take them! :oops:

Our mobile phone and our video camera both charged up fine with the 2 pin adapter. I bought a travel voltage converter but it broke!!! (waste of money). The only thing that I had trouble with was straighteners, mine did not heat up very much but I had a quick trip to the on board shop and I got some travel straighteners for £16.99 which were fine

It is true that the toilet situation and the irregular stabilizers on the Destiny can both be worrying, but truth be known I would go back there tomorrow!!!!!!!!! :glynis

Sea Sickness pills with Alchol

I took Sturgeon with Alchol - had the most dreadful headache the next day. Both my children took them - one got a really bad headache the other was just fine. So there goes that theory

Probably like all medicines the side effects vary from person to person

Can I ask you if you got Stugeron on prescription or over the counter? I have taken it in the past for my circulation (I think) but hearing that it would be good for sea-sickness makes me think I should see the doc before my transatlantic crossing!

Got it onboard from the reception - some ships do it free but not Thomson. It was alot cheaper than buying it from the chemist before i went. So i would advise to hang on and get from reception when you get onboard
