Thats true pubdog, but if you think of my statement you will realize that it is true in many ways. Some people like to go there to have some tie of peace-isnt that called quietness? Nicosia,Larnaca and limassos are still alive in winter. However, for fun lovers and sun bathers i would recommend summer.
the result is Cyprus is great all year round keeping in mind the type of journey you are looking for!

I do agree entirely Kostas, and you are factually correct.
I love the place out of season, especially Larnaca and Nicosia :D

You can't beat a drop of Leon, IMO.
Unless you manage, as I did last year, to find some 'proper' beer.

For me, May is perfect, the weather is good, the bars are busy but not too busy. Ayia Napa waterpark you don't need to que for more than 5-10min.

Yes you are right about the bars but what bothered me in agy napa water park when i was there last time in May that the weather was not enough hot. and since most of the rides are very high in altitudes , when you are the top, the extra wind and not strong sun makes it un comfortable.

I agree last year, we had rain on the day we went to waterpark. We have been going to Cyprus in may for the last 5 years and last year was the worst for weather, but still OK.

Hi we have been to Protaras on the 25th May for the last 3 years running. It is definately busy enough at this time. Everything is open. It is always hot all day and sunny and then nice at night so its not hot. Its perfect. This year we have been trying to book something different but i dont trust the weather anywhere else, so instead we are going to Ayia Napa, we have booked it yesterday. If you want any info on Protaras you can private msg me. :D

jenn, its true that it is relatively hot but let me tell u this: In may last year i was in cyprus for about 2 weeks. I was staying in nicosia. the weather was nice, so i decided to go swiming in Larnaca(there is a very nice beach over there). The water was relatively cold and at Exacltly 2 Pm i was amazed by the beach guys getting their wooden chairs inside and people on beach geting dressed ready to get moving. After getting informed that its going to rain i got dressed and headed back to nicosia. on the way back it started to rain heavily!!!!And that was in May. however , the next day was sunny.
Three days later i went with some friends of mine to Agya Napa Water Park, the weather was not so hot and it was windy. We didnt enjoy our time a lot since water park needs a very hot weather. Thewater was cold and when you jump into water at the end of any ride it freezez you!

Hello, we're trying to find somewhere to go for the kids half term in October...what is the weather like then and does the place stay open?

Hi Phil

I went last year on 8th October and the weather was lovely, very warm in the day (although a bit breezy) and warm in the evenings. Protaras shuts down for winter 31st October.

Hope that helps

Hi,
We usually go for half term (3rd Week in October). The weather is usually lovely around 27-30 degrees. About 3 or 4 years ago it was mid 30's. The last couple of year's there have been a couple of days with an odd shower but nothing that would spoil your holiday. The beaches are beautiful, the sea is still warm and everything is open with plenty entertainment if you want it.. The boat trips along the coast are reduced to CY£2 per person and loads of places do cocktails for CY£1. I would definitely recommend it for a family break at that time.

Hi Phil, I normally take a trip over in October. This year i'll be there for football.

It's still really warm but as someone said Protaras closes at the end of October.

Excellent, many thanks for the replies...now to convince she who must be obeyed that this is the place to go rather than Turkey!
