Travelling from Manchester to Vegas in October with My Travel. Anyone used the "exit seats extra leg room" upgrade (they want £70) and if so is it worth it.

The extra legroom seats are good value and are worth the supplement for a long sector such as Las Vegas. Premiair Gold is roughly £300pp on this route and for that you will receive excellent service and so is again, good value. Extra legroom and Premiair Gold sell quick so I'd act sooner rather then later if I where you.

This route is serviced by an A330-200. Premiair Gold is configured to a spacious 2-3-2 layout with 36" seat pitch and the seat back TVs throughout the aircraft have the gear and body mounted external camera's on channel 11 (downwards view) and channel 12 (forward view).

Hi,

I'm flying with MyTravel (booked via Airtours) from Glasgow to Orlando Sanford on Sat 26th May 2007 at approx 11am returning on Sat 9th June 2007 at approx 4pm.

I don't have my tickets so I'm unsure what the actual flight numbers are.

Does anyone know the answers to the following questions :-

1 - Which aircraft do they use for this flight ?
2 - What seating configuration do they use for the different classes ?
3 - What is the seat pitch in standard economy ?
4 - What is the seat pitch in extra leg room seats (costing £70 return pp) ?
5 - Do they seat back screens ?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks
Gav.

Seats are normally allocated on a booking by booking basis. i.e. those who booked PG first will receive Row 1 etc. If you do have a specific medical or general request call MyTravel Airways Pre-Flight Services on 0161 498 4498.

This route is operated by an A330-200 subject to change. You can find out the entertainment options by visiting MyTravelMag com - Details on June's entertainment will be available on their from April 1st.

Premiair Gold is good value and very comfortable, the cabin crew provide superb service. Even if the flight had an equipment change to a B767-300ER, portable VOD devices are provided for each passenger in PG.

One more question....we've booked extra leg room seats and I've been told this automatically gets you the "seating together" option as well. They also said that sitting together could mean across an aisle from each other.

I they do sit us across an aisle from each other, are they likely to change it if we check in early enough ?

Also, do you know when check in opens i.e. 2/3 hours before departure ?

This is going to be our honeymoon, so it wouldn't be the best start to our marriage if there was an aisle between us.

Thanks.

PS - Our flight numbers are now confirmed as MYT065 (Outbound) and MYT066 (Return)

If your seats are allocated across the aisle, check you boarding pass before leaving the check-in desk and should there be a problem, ask if there are any seats left next to each other. Normally, any upgraded seating is pre-allocated anyway so it doesn't normally matter when you check-in however, 3 hours prior to departure is the recommended minimum and as I am not entirely familiar with the system used at check-in, the agent may not be able to override the system if it had already allocated you seats across the aisle.

If you would like to make your Honeymoon extra special, there is still availability in the Premiair Gold cabin. Additionally, regardless of your class of travel, you can pre-book champagne and chocolates which will be delivered to you during your flight and a special message can be attached. Call Pre-Flight Services on 0161 498 4498 to add this to your holiday.

This is an A321-211 route. Seat pitch averages at 28" in line with all charter airlines. The aircraft have all recently been refurbished and now feature leather seats and improved cushioning and padding in a 3-3 configuration.

Not sure whether this is the best place to post or not but I'm flying in July for the first time with MyTravel to Holguin, Cuba and wondered what I can expect. We've always done it with Cubana in the past - which was always a bit like arriving in Cuba before you'd even left Gatwick, what with the queues, things never happening when they were supposed to etc, the cabin crew doing a nice bit of hustling with the cigars and rum! I can feel a wave of nostalgia washing over me already :-)

But seriously, anybody out there any idea of what we can expect? I gather the flights are pretty well full already so I'm assuming that stretching out over a full row of empty seats won't be an option - Cubana flights were never full! I'm only short so seat pitch is rarely a problem and I always try and sleep my way of the Atlantic so I'm not that bothered about the in flight entertainment etc but will I miss the 2 litre bottles of water I was always able to eaily cajole out the Cubana stewards? 'If you just give me the full bottle now I won't have to disturb you later will I?' always worked. It even worked for getting the full six-pack of beer in one go too!

SMa,

MYT long haul is a pretty good experience, always has been for me escpecially if they assign one of their excellent Airbus A332's with seat back IFE and external flight cameras. Seat pitch is 30" configured 3-3-3 apart from the last few rows which are 2-3-2 (Premier Gold is 2-3-2 with 35" seat pitch) which is ok but lagging behind the likes of FCA these days. As an airframe, the A332's are excellent, nice and quiet and very smooth. I've always found the cabin cew excellent and would have no hessitation flying longhaul with them. I've posted some images of the IFE on page 3 of this thread, not the best but you'll get the idea. They also use a couple of Boeing 767-31K's which don't have seat back IFE fitted but they are still ok. They have 30" seat pitch configured 2-4-2.

EDIT: Ignore what I've said above! Are you flying on a Sunday departing 10:50 from Gatwick? If so, the flight is operated by Thomas Cook, flight number TCX071K/L. They also use Airbus A332's and are pretty similar to MYT's although they don't have the external flight cameras or downstairs toilet area. This is the seating plan for TCX's A332's.

Well spotted, Darren! Yes, we are flying on a Sunday at 10.50am from Gatwick! It also means that we don't have to have an overnight stay in Havana followed by an overnight flight back to Gatwick. It makes not only for an earlier arrival in Santiago after the drive from Holguin (and that first mojito on the terrace of the Casa Grande is always needed :-) ) but also means that we get an extra night in Santiago to soak up that wonderful experience of the best music and dancing to be had in Cuba. Thanks for the link - I'll check it out.

Aileen-D,

It'll either be an Airbus A330-243 or Boeing 767-31K. It has been the A332 in the past. Legroom will be the same as per your last flight with them, 30".

Have a great time,

Darren

Hi

We are due to fly from Gatwick to Sandford Orlando in October. The flight number is MYT067/MYT068 - can anyone advise me on the type of aircraft it is likely to be and the seat configuration please?

Thanks

Daydreamer T,

Your flights will be operated with either an Airbus A330-243 or Boeing 767-31K. The flight isn't showing on the system I use as yet so I can't be exact at the moment. If you ask again a bit closer to the time, I'll confirm things for you. The 767-31K is configured 2-4-2 in economy with 30" seat pitch, 2-3-2 in premier gold with 35" seat pitch. This is the seating plan for the A332.
