Quick update on the Efes saga - Sun shinning fit to burn your eyeballs here today and 'Sir' and I decide (well, one of us did!) to get ready for summer barbies and lounging in the sun. About 11am 'Sir' says -" put some glasses in the freezer and we will have an Efes later "(no kids etc. so nice and quiet). Well, we plod along doing what we have to and, about 2.30 I say "Do you want a snack and a drink?" "Yes, that sounds good." says he - then I make the BIG mistake "Shall we have a beer or would you like tea?" :yikes "Tea," says 'Sir' "we will save the beer for later."
What I want to know is - if I can pop into Tesco and buy more why can't we drink Efes if the temperature is less than 90c and there is no sand between his toes (or ears!!). :D
Just thought I would share that.

Prawn,

Sorry, but if I was you, then I would have to put a fan heater in somewhere, at least raise the temperature, then you can get the Efes out whenever you like. Ad lib girl......lol.

Would love to, Reesy, but this is the man who takes his shirt off when it is -3c and says "It's hot in here!" then says there is something wrong with me because I am wearing a sweater (and thermals!). Think I will just give up and wait until September. :hmmm

Sorry! My fault again - I have the attention span of a goldfish.

Hope you have a good time, Reesy - which hotel are you staying at?

Sorry Briar. It's probably the thought of Bitez that makes us a little do-lally.

Have had a look on the Yalihan web site, and it looks OK. Next to the beach and all the restaurants. You should be OK there. Enjoy. :pele

Hi!
9 weeks today till we go to Bitez. I cant wait. have bought the essentials. wondered if anyone can tell me if it is common place to have tea making facilities in hotel rooms in Turkey? Or if anyone has stayed in Kassandra hotel if they have this in their rooms. If not I will pack my travel kettle! Cant find this info on hotel site so thinking probably not.
thanks for help

Hi Scotty,
Hope you enjoy your Bitez holiday, have you been before?

Hotels do vary, the Manuela Hotel, which is quite near the Kassandra, does have a kettle in the rooms. But if you're not sure, I'd take one.

We are going to Gumbet next week and intend having a few day visits to Bitez, just to look up old friends. But, we are also having a look at the Kassandra, for Prawn, who is staying there in September. Finding out what it is like etc. So if you wait untill after 30th May, I will report back on my findings.

LOLL Marn.

Hi, Scotty - I don't think that there are tea-making facilities at Kassandra. At least, I haven't found them when I have been checking. If you haven't been to Bitez before I am sure you will enjoy it.

Mike and Marn - have a great time. Hope you enjoy Gumbet and that you have a good time. Promise I am not jealous (but I am really!). :D
Speak to you when you get back.

Off to Bitez next Monday, really looking forward to it. Does any one know if there are any hairdressers in Bitez? My friend usually has her hair coloured when we are in Turkey.

there is at least one hairdresser in Bitez.
The one my wife used was called the Blue Moon and is up from the front up the street that leads to the red dragon restaurant

would this resort suit 3 couples in their late 40's. We thought of Olu Deniz but don't fancy the long coach transfer. We like traditional resorts, clean accommodation, a decent pool and plenty of good food. We also like an occasional quiz or live music. Can anyone recommend a decent B & B or self catering accommodation as we like to eat in different places. Thanks
