Gene,
Good practical stuff for someone going for the first time. For the regulars too as the prices vary so much year after year.

PS. Stroke of luck there you and the missus being the same blouse size ..
Prices are great this year due to the strong pound, but be prepared for a little more hassle.

can anyone please tell me how much the following cost to buy in Turkey
me and my boyfriend are flying out on sunday, his mam and dad are already there (they are going for 3weeks, lucky buggers) any how, they rang us last nite and said marmaris is pretty quiet at the minute so the prices are quite cheap compared the last year when they were there, cant wait to go now.
OK now Im cofussed what is a "Fuddle", sorry to ask a silly question is this some sort of regional wording ?
I am From Derbyshire and our fuddle is a little party.
Marmaris was much quieter than usual, even the turks were commenting about the lack of tourists, it was fine though it just meant that you could walk around without walking into to people you could easily get a table in pretty much any restaurant you wanted and best of all there was more efes for me to drink it certainly was`nt dead.
The lamberts from Dalaman airport were £13, maybe you could get them cheaper but we did`nt have time to haggle or look in all the different shops in the airport, hubby thinks he paid about the same for 5 packs of baccy (drum) golden virg is a bit dearer so add maybe a few pounds to that.

They were only 10 pound seven weeks ago. I wonder have they put them up with the rising lira exchange.
Last year at the airport we paid £11
its still good prices though, considering what we pay at home

Will be returning in the next few weeks, just like to know with people saying that things are that bit quieter this year, are prices reflecting this?
I didn't think so. If anything, the reverse - fewer people so trying to get as much as poss from those who are there!
Well from what I hear it's quite the reverse, I can see your point, but I don't think that will happen, there is to much competition
I also found it easier to get lower prices for trips due to the lack of customers.
Iwas one of the first to post on this subject las year when I said that the prices had gone up and I felt that Turkey was no cheaper than Spain Greece etc.
I came back 2 weeks ago after staying in Marmaris for a week and what a difference. Meals I found to be slightly cheaper eg set 4 course chicken meal around 14 lira and a set steak meal around 18 lira. This was the prices I was paying last year for just the main course and usually free bread. Given that the xchange rate is up about 15-20% on las year Turkey is fabulous value for money.
Trips are slightly more expensive probably due tio the increase in petrol prices, bu the difference is minimal
If people have not yet booked, if you are looking for a cheap last minute holiday the cheapest ones by far are the holidays to Turkey, and there are loads of them
The resorts are a bit quieter but maybe that the world cup has finished things may pick up. Personally I prefer when things are a little quiter

We came back from Icmeler two weeks ago now and we found it still cheap. We were getting 3TKL to the pound. Beer is cheap. Food is superb and reasonable. Best meals were at The Lighthouse in the square. Going back in September.
I did not find it bad value last year, and to be honest did not remember being ripped off, I did remember the debate last year which ran and ran, glad that things have returned to normal, it's a market and people will go back to where they get good value.
And like I said last year. It's not just about cheap prices, it's also about the fantastic people in a fantastic resort!
