Interesting one Maz. You will have to check with Qatar to be sure. You get your points by presenting your privilege card at check in so I don't see why you couldn't qualify.
Who's the package tour company, I'm interested !
We have our second flight coming up soon and we have had confirmation that as we are now Burgundy members we get the extra 10kg luggage allowance which is handy. To maintain it though we need to keep going with them.
cheers Dave

MazD,

Yes, you'll be able to collect your points regardless of who you've booked with. If you've booked through an agent, you may not get all the points / miles as it'll likely be on a discounted ticket, but you'll still get member benefits. Just show your card / quote your membership number when you check-in as you normally would.

Thanks guys much appriciated. Dave I was looking at Sri lanka with mercury direct. They use emirates As well as Qatar. However I will still price up flights and accomodation to DIY as well ;)

Prices for next winter to India with Qatar are a lot dearer than we paid this year... over £200 more each ticket. We are thinking maybe Thailand next year with Qatar, might even be cheaper flying there than Goa !!!

Flying to Goa next month with Qatar. Maybe having a blonde moment here but am i right in thinking that i wont receive flight tickets as such but just the emails like you would use if it were Easyjet ?

Correct ! Make sure you take the credit card you paid for the tickets with too as it's required as ID.

billy bluenose,

You'll have an e-ticket so you just need to take your passport and booking reference (as quoted on email confirmations) with you. Most airlines operate e-tickets these days. Details are on Qatars website.

I would give them a ring to make sure about the credit card situation. If you are changing a name but not the credit card, it should have the same number so I can't see a problem.

The luggage allowance is on your e mail. Booked direct with Qatar it's 20kg per person although if you book through some travel agents ( Southall for example) you apparently get 30kg which seems unfair but that is the way it is !
I would join their priviledge club to log up Qatar air miles and get points towards an extra 10kg luggage allowance on your next flight if it's within a 12 month period.

We flew from Heathrow two weeks ago and I had to show my credit card. I was quite disappointed with the flight our entertainment system did not work on the way out or back and staff did not seem to care just said they would reboot it then never came back.
We flew economy and the food was not as good as other airlines also the times they came around offering water/juice was less than others.
The seats not as good either when person in front reclined it really invaded your space.
The short transfer time at Doha of 35 minutes went very smoothly and the on line check in worked well.

Hi Lady,
Can you remember which seat numbers you were in and the flight number,if you pm it to me i will pass it on to a friend in customer relations,I fly to Manchester on Thursday AM with Qatar but upfront.I am supprised to read your complaints as Qatar normally have good customer relations.

Ok so ive done the online check in and it was very straightforward.

Just a couple of questions if anyone can help before i go in the morning.

I understand that i have to go to the fast bag drop point in manchester and take my confirmation email along with my credit card and other travel info to get a boarding pass.

My second flight from doha to goa i have a boarding pass for this so what do i do at doha when i get off the plane do i just go to the gate ?(via duty free) if anyone can help please :que

Hi, When you get to Doha you have to go through a scanner which you queue for,if your flight is a quick transit you get through quicker, then you are in duty free and wait for your gate to be announced then you go through. It is really easy just follow the crowd!

Qatar man I will find my seat number and try to pm it thanks.

At Doha there is a quick transit channel on your left as you come into the terminal building after you get off the bus but you don't need it for the flight you are on Maz.Just enough time for a browse around duty free, maybe an expensive cup of coffee and then away you go ! Have a good trip, have a good holiday.
Oh, and don't break the inflight entertainment, I might be sitting in that seat of Friday !!!!! :tup
