for anyone who has been before how did you get your AI ?
Did you book half board then arrive and pay some extra for the AI part of the holiday or what?
Also if people did pay extra how much was it?
we will be 2adults and 1baby of 1year old.
Thanks to anyone who replys.
I was talking to you in the AI thread. Due to a post I have just read on trip adviser I have a feeling that it is only the Russians that are offered the AI option at this hotel.
For the UK market it seems you can only get B&B. (I have checked on various TO websites and thats all they seem to offer)
I am in a big panic at present as I am due to go in about 4 weeks time and for this holiday in particular didn't want an AI hotel.
If in your trawl on the next you find out any further information I would be grateful if you post on here.
Have you read the whole thread, there are some fab pictures of this hotel on the earlier pages?
i was in the travel agents this morning checking for avaibility and the lady there couldnt find the AI option and she was going to email the hotel to check but she couldnt find any email option.
from what i have read this hotel is mainly russian and english visitors.
also did you know there is a Moutain hotel and the Beach hotel almost next to each other, and you get access too both of them if your a visitor to just 1.
anyway lets pass information on this hotel, and no i have not seen the picture thread
I wanted to bring this post to the top for Ransom so that he could look at the pics, but I don't know how to join the two up. Perhaps you could do it for me/him(or her).

*Edit merged, Doe you wouldn't be able to merge the two only a Mod/Admin can do that Briar
Ive seen the mountain ones Ransome they are also on the going places site but I particularly wanted to go to the Renaissance Golden view this year.
I have pulled the rennaisance thread up to the top of the forum for you and hopefully Briar will join them up.

thanks for that those reef fish pics look amazing.
In the mean time I am happy to answer questions to anyone thinking of booking. Re the above question on AI I couldn't see it being offered anywhere. I kept looking out for wristbands but none were in evidence. Perhaps they no longer offer it or it's not available to the British.

Have just booked this hotel for September, would like to know of any room upgrades; ie are they worth paying for, what you get etc any other info on this hotel will be gratefully received, thanks, Andy
When you read the reviews mine is the one Chris, April 2007. It covers a lot on the RGVB.
If you also go to the post started by Cypruschick a few below yours -'Please help i'm so confused - I have answered questions to her on the RGVB which may also help. Don't want to repeat myself as afraid of boring people to death.
Re upgrades. I think the main upgrade you could secure would be a sea-view. We didnt pay for this as I booked two rooms one for us and one for my kids so it would have been pricey.
Don't know if you have been to Sharm, but hotels like this(it's a Marriott) are massive. Our rooms were up by the top pool. I liked this as it was near to reception, Coast breakfast restaurant, Zinzina bar and restaurant. Posh restaurant that we didn't go in LOL etc
Only possible downside of top pool is you can hear the entertainment (such as it is) of an evening, but if you don't go to bed before midnight it's not a problem. If you want early nights closer to the sea would be better.
Come back to me if you need more info.

Thanks for your help doe, think i'll book a sea view and see if I can get one close to reception.
Either way it should be fine, It just means a bit of walking up and down quite a few steps. If nobody has mobility problems it wont make any difference.
I'm sure a sea view will be lovely. Most of the hotel is only two floors high, so you could probably email about a week before you go and request either a ground floor or upper floor.
We were ground floor so had terraces with a cane table and chairs. The upstairs ones had balconys.
This is a good hotel and excellent value for money. Some reviews on Trip say the rooms are shabby, dont know if we got lucky but that wasn't our experience and we had two rooms with a lounge in between. All were great.
