About 15 to 20mins and its uphill (thats without stopping) We stayed 3 year ago at Jutlandia its excellent.
thanks thats not to bad is there shops ,bars etc along way .can you remember if there are any amusements near ,son likes to play on the car games and air hockey
Plenty of bars and shops along the way. I can't remember any amusements but there could be!?
are there amusements in square?
Yes. Lots.
We have been to most parts of Majorca and fancy somewhere different for a change. Looking to go end of August for a week, can anyone tell me if it is a good family resort, and if there is much to do for the children in the bars at night (we like to eat out!). Have read through some of the hotel reviews but am completely confused now. Would like somewhere central with a nice swimming pool, childrens play area and possibly near beach. Other thing is we are not Irish and have heard that is a mainly Irish resort. Have no problem with the Irish at all, but just wanted to know other peoples views on this! Many thanks!
brill kids will be pleased
Hi, we ( 2 ad - 1 ch aged 7) went to Santa Ponsa end May beg June 07. It is a great family resort. We stayed at the Hesperia which is across road from beach and central to shops etc. Nice pool area and H/B basis. Our friends stopped at Holiday Park Appts 10 min walk from us. This was nice on S/C basis, near Irish end but only 5 min walk to centre so you can go whichever end you wish. Go to the square which is up a slight hill then down (15min walk) but load of bars etc on way. Enjoy - I'm sure you will.
With regards to being an Irish resort we didnt find this a problem the first two times, in fact got friendly with an Irish family and then bumped into them the second year in Gran Santa Ponsa which was nice. BUT the last time we went it was World Cup and we did feel doubly foreign, if you know what I mean.
Try the Punta Del Mar. We stayed there last year and it was excellent and very close to the square where the family entertainment will not be beaten. Take no notice of some of the negative reviews for this hotel as the views, cleanliness, food are all very good. The one bedroomed apartments are basically 2 rooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies.
im off there on 28th july might see you staying at jutlandia
thats the day we come back
Hi, Im thinkn about goin 2 the Verdemar Apts in santa ponsa next week for a week. could any1 let me know what these apt r like & if santa ponsa is nice.Keep hearin bad things bout it & its the only available hol they had in the travel agents. Thanks
Dont know the apartments but Santa Ponsa is very nice - see other messages on this forum for further details.
I have not stayed at the apartments but have just returned from a 2 week holiday in Santa Ponsa and it was one of the best holidays I have had. The resort is beautiful and there is plenty to do for all age groups. I hope you enjoy your holiday.
The rey don jaime is an excellent hotel for families, the childrens entertainers are there from morning to night keeping all the kids amuzed with games and stuff all day and they get certificates for joining in and also get a gold medal and a small toy before leaving. In the evening they put on a mini disco too and also have some great shows for all the family to enjoy well into the night and then at midnight a karaoke starts in the hotel pub until aboout 3 in the morning for the adults to enjoy. The hotel is only 2 mins walk to the beach and is central for everything I would highly recommend this hotel.
