Hi
Thinking of trying here next summer, early June. Can anyone tell me what Santa Ponsa will be like at this time?We like to be in a fairly busy place but with no teenagers! If anyone has any info on the best location to stay in I would appreciate it.
Cheers Helen
Hi, Helen. have a look in hotels review, you should find something there ....
Thanks for that snowey but its more what the resort is like I want to know about rather than the hotels, if we decide to go we would be looking for private accomodation, we find it to be the cheapest way to get there. Cheers Helen
Resort reports can be read on the link below
We go to SP for the first 2 weeks in June - and we love it. Its busy but not heaving, you can notice that the 2nd week is busier than the first.
We like it because the weather is great without being too unbearable and the beach is not too crowded.
The bars & restaurants are all busy but SP dosn't get the 18-30 crowd like Magaluf - dont get me wrong there are young people there having a good time, but SP dosnt have many nightclubs just disco bars.
We stay at the quiet end of town - Costa de la Calma - about 10 mins walk down the hill into the centre of SP - loads of bars & restaurants on the way. Its much quieter at that end of town - no beach as set on a hill although has spectacular views. There are a lot of bars & restaurants there in an area called The Square - every night there is outside entertainment from 9.00 - 11.30 tribute bands etc. Also a lot of the bars have entertainment on and there is a lot of karaoke (if thats your thing)
In the centre of town there a lot of Irish bars and these do tend to get very busy & lively at night. There are so many different places to go to drink & eat it would be impossible to list them all.
Have a look at http://www.santaponsascene.com this will give you loads of ideas together with a map showing hotel & apartments.
Its a matter of choice whether to be in the centre of town which could be noisy at nights, or be somewhere a bit quieter but you do get a good nights sleep
Hope this helps. If you need anymore help send me a pm.

i loved amigos... its a mexican restaurant but it gets very busy during high season, recommend you book a table if u eat here!
also they steak place ... el ceibo.. next to it, also need to book a table... can be very busy with the spanish!
and crocodillos and jackies are both very good
....... in fact theres loadsa places to pick from in santa ponsa!!
Thanks
You'd be very limited at Jardin Del Playa with a wheelchair, in fact very restricted to the bars in the immediate vicinity. The main part of the resort would mean a hefty push uphill to get back and not recommended with anyone who has angina. Sorry, but I'd rethink if I were you. The apartments are ok though
Also we noticed that all the kerbs round there are very high and some of the paths are a bit uneven.
Would not recommend area to anyone who is in a wheelchair.

have a look at this link Alibali27. If you look at the very top of map at the number 15 (Where it says costa de la calma), then that's the hotel you were planning to go to. If you look down at number 33, then that's where you'll start to go uphill, so you see ithe distance is not very suitable for infirm people.
Hope this has been helpful

The Jardin Del Playa is also situated on quite a steep incline so not really suitable for wheelchair - also area around the pool has some steps out from the building although they do have some ramps - bit steep though. You may want to consider a hotel around the beach area which is quite flat.
thanks very much for all your replies, we are going to go to Es Cana in Ibiza now, finding a place not too far from airport on the flat suitable for older folks was too difficult. Your replies were really helpful
Looking for a bit of information.
We're thinking of going to Santa Ponsa sometime this year (summer season), my partner and myself are both 22.
What is the resort like? Would it be busy enough for people our age? we're not looking for a mad 18-30 holiday, just somewhere with a bit of life.Has anyone our age been?
Any info would be a great help.
Cheers
Going to santa ponsa on sunday for a week staying in the verdamer.
How much spending money would you need for a week?
Any advise on where is good to go and places to stay away from?
Thanks a mill for ur help
anyone????
Are you just travelling on your own, do you drink, do you drink a lot, do you like to eat out in expensive restaurants. Do you just eat out once a day or will you eat out 3 times a day. Do you want to go on excursions while there or just chill by the pool for a week.
- going for 1 week
- will have breakfast and dinner out every day
- will be out every night
- likes to drink
- dont plan on doing any excursions
Santa Ponsa has something for everyone, and only a short taxi fare to Magalluf if thats what you want. Lively in the Irish end of the bay quieter the other side. Many places to eat, every budget. We liked to eat at Crocodillos or Kellys on the corner for dinner both very good not expensive but not mega cheap. We went last year and retuning in September , hope this helps. Have a good holiday!
Full English Breakfast €4.50
Dinner eg Fillet Steak & all the trimmings €14.50
Fish & Chips €7.95
Sunday Roast €6 - €8
Drinks Spirit + Mixer €4.50
San Miguel €3.00
Obviously these prices are just a guide - you can get a Menu del Dia (3 courses for about €9.50)
Loads of restaurants/bars/cafes to choose from - we would recommend Scotts - upstairs in the commercial centre in the Irish Quarter - really reasonable and the food is great. Also the food at the Duke of York is really good and thats just across from the Verdemar.
Have a great time
Carmel
