Andy, I am going to the Rey Don same time as yourself. Traveling with Portland from Bournemouth 30th June. 2 weeks of Sun and Sand. I am taking my Daughter Sarah , Wife cant come so Sarah jumped on board for a free holiday!! reckons Uni has tired her out and a restfull fortnight under a sunshade is just the thing!. See you for a drink at the pool bar!. Cheers. Sivvy. (PETER) :D

Your both so lucky we don't go to Rey Don Jamie until end of August. Loved it last year and can't wait to go back.

Peter, Flying out from Bristol, five of us the wife Marilyn my Daughter Steph (who finished Uni last year) and her boyfriend, and my 16 year old daughter Kim, will look out for you and Sarah. Not that far off now, I'm sure you will enjoy your holiday, It's a nice resort and good hotel, Andy 8)

Now on the final countdown - less than 24 hours to go!! Stress levels pretty high at the moment - ironing, packing, cleaning and writing check lists. Not to mention the farming out of the family pets (how come cats disappear at the sight of a carry cage!!!!!!!!!) Also my 5 year old who keeps unpacking the cases faster than I can pack - if left to him we will be bringing a case load of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and some Power Rangers.

Never mind by tomorrow night we will be enjoying a nice meal and a couple of long bacardi & cokes - bliss :glynis

My only worry now is the weather have looked at the forecast for the next ten days and they look awful - cloudy & thunder every day :( Hope the forecasters are like the ones here in the UK who always get it wrong!

Must get back to the chores - will write some reviews when we get back.

Now where did I put the passports :omg

Have a great time Carmel, which I'm sure you will.

We are returning for our second time to Santa Ponsa in August. We including an 8 year old who thought Ayia Napa was the best think it's great.

We are having to make do with a few days in Whitby from tomorrow just to take our minds off the big holiday.Mind you I'm sure its easier packing for two weeks abroad rather than 3 nights in the UK with the British weather being as it is.

Have a great time and let us know what you think.

I just love Santa Ponsa - we are going back in 5 weeks for the 9th year in a row :D

Love all the Irish bars, especially The Shamrock - its wild in there. When the kids were younger we used to always go to The Square - the live entertainment there is excellent and great for the kids as they have a mini-disco every night

Hope everyone has a great time in Santa Ponsa this year and the weather is meant to get very HOT!!! 8)

Hi Folks,
Just back from 2 great weeks in Santa Ponsa, great resort, something for everyone, will be back as soon as possible, stumbled across a great bar,
SHOCKERS, it's near Greenhills at the Irish end, the 2 scots guys behind the bar were really friendly and the prices were reasonable, infact we spent most of our evenings there and sunned ourselves during the day, if your going over try it out and I hope the weather is as favorable you as it was for us....Wil

Just got back from SP last weekend :( Missing the sun!

The best place we found to eat was The Watering Hole - just behind the Pine Wood near the beach - Great breakfasts and lovely meals in the evening - Chicken Santa Ponsa is highly recommended, go there during the day and go through the bar into their garden - its fabulous set out with sun beds and you can use their lovely swimming pool - we used to go to the beach in the morning then go there for a late lunch and then spend the afternoon in the pool.

We also had a couple of nice meals at Grannys - on the hill towards Costa de la Calma. Lovely pizzas at Jackys and nice peppered steak at South Winds. My husband also said to mention the fantasic breakfast at The Glasgow Bar - square sausage and tattie cakes mmmm!

We ended up in the Square most nights - sat outside the Brazil Bar - great measures. Got ripped off at the Caledonian - not real bacardi and draft coke - yuk! Entertainment in the square was good - recommend The Four Tops, Village People and The Bee Gees (Tribute Bands)

See Captain Birdseye outside McDonalds and book one of the 2 hour submarine/cruises round the bar - really relaxing and a great way to catch the sun - cant remember the price but it wasnt expensive.

You'll have a great time - just stroll around in the evening and see what bars take your fancy - we found everyone really friendly.

Have fun :glynis

Hi,
just back from Santa Ponsa yesterday. There is a great bar just opposite the holiday park apts. called Coco's. The drink is very resonable and its proper bacardi that is served. The owner and his wife are from Cork and are very friendly. Also I would advise people to stay away from the Irish bars as they are overpriced and the drink is muck. A great place to eat is Sa Terrassa which can be found if you follow the road at the beach. You can sit and watch the sun go down on santa ponsa bay while you eat the fantastic food. I would also agree with the previous poster with regard to the Calafonian bar up in the square. The drink is vastly overpriced and not the real stuff.

We went to The Watering Hole today and all meals were cancelled due there being power supply probems. Pity, I remember the previous owners who were Spanish also had the same problems.

The new owners are an English couple who told me that it's costing them a fortune due to lost meals etc

We had (a rather late) lunch in the Watering Hole on a couple of occasions last year after a few hours on the beach but wouldn't say it was anything special. We also had our first breakfast there after a recommendation by our rep but the best breakfast we found was in Rickies further up the road.

Although we never found a bad place to eat and we did try to vary where we ate,one of the best was Mrs Murphy's up on the strip. The gourmet burger was wicked.

We also had a couple of good Paella down by the beach but can't remember the names of the restaurants but never mind,we will be back there in just over 6 weeks to try them all again :yipee

The Square is a good starting point for family style entertainment and one of the bars had late night Cabaret on, 'Fit young men taking their clothes off' that sort of thing', but you don't strike me as the sort of person who'd be in the least interested in that

Plenty of late night bars, only saw a couple of clubs and Magaluf only a £5 cab trip away so you won't be dissapointed.........

Sounds good I will mention it to the girls tonight, I'm sure when I tell them that they won't be interested in Magaluf - Teehehe.

When I was there in June the Fit Young Men were in The Caledonian in The Square - cant remember what night of the week though.

I'm going back in October so I will be reserving my front row seat!!

It may well have been the Caledonian? Bottom of the Square as you approach it to the left. You'll see a small tower above it, which is a church.

Have fun and confess your sins at the same time!!

PS: I was there in June and was actually sitting just outside!
