hiya
myself and my boyf went to santa ponsa last year staying in the carolina apts. your apts are more cental tho. they look lovely. there are LOADS of places to eat. when you leave your apts and turn right then theres loads of places to eat along the road and al lthe pubs are that way. turning left will bring you to the large square where there is entertainment for kids but also a few clubs and also a lovely gino ginelli ice cream parlour. the australian ice cream bar is on the way to the beach and is lovely also!! food is reasonable. about 7-8euros per meal. el papagyeo is just below your apts and you have a gorgeous sea side table with fab views. food gorgeous. it was never packed when we went there which was so sur[rising and might put you off but honestly its so nice. take a stroll at night and look at the menu outside the restaurants.
go to marineland with dolphin, sealion and parrot shows. put marine land into a search engine and you'll get all the info. also go the aquacity, good day out!! google that also for info! thats in magaluff. take a trip to palma nova also to the crazy golf. good laf and nice to see another town. santa ponsa is way nicer tho in my opinion. the beach is gorgeous. we went early sept and theres a festival on there at that time every year so that made it all the more amazing!! also go out on a motorised pedalo, good craic.
you'll love it!!!
Im counting the days now and it is much more exciting that I know what the resort is like, where to go etc..
Thanks all, hopefully I can return the favour to you all sometime!!!

i've been to santa ponsa about 5 times and i think its a brilliant place to go, i've been to the vista club and the bouganvilla apartments and they were very good, theres a place there called the square were all the entertainment is and its good craic, theres alot of stuff for the kids and theres a bar called the calladonian which is a scottish bar but its good and theres even a poundstretchers over there which is funny...
also there is this show, i forget were it is but its called 'Piraets' you have to go to it, theres alot of gymnastis in it and i think it is about 20 pestas, well then it was, for a meal and unlimited jugs of sangera and theres orange juice for kids...
Andy
The square is about 10 minutes walk up the hill to your right as you stand looking out to sea across the beach. It's a circular area full of seats and many bars with entertainment on a stage.
The dolphin show is at Marineland at Palma Nova. Everyone seems to go at dinner time and it gets packed as it isn't very big. Go slightly later say 3 pm . The place will be emptying then and you could make half a dozen tours of the place before it closes at 6.
The bus to Magalluf goes all around the houses and makes you feel sick. It seems like you've gone 10 miles. If you get a taxi, its not expensive and takes minutes.
Pirates is an acrobatic pirate themed show, the early one for kids, the later for adults. It's good but don't expect a fancy meal. Its basically spuds, chicken, a bit of salad, and an Ice cream tub. For our family of 4 it cost about £100 with transport through the tour operator.
I prefer coves to large beaches and there's a beaut just behind the jardin del sol (or is it playa) which is through the square, out the other side and round a short cliff top path. It's only small, but very quiet and great for bathing with cliffs behind you.
been to Santa Ponsa a couple of times and love the place, there is a nice "Little Beach" maybe half a mile away from the main strip, not crowded and beautiful.
Dont know whether you've been to it but we loved the Son Amar show its an ex mansion that has seats for over 2.000 guests and must rate as the best show I've ever seen, go there, you'll love it.
What is this Son Amar show??
believe me, this will be one of the best shows you are ever likely to see, I think we payed £25:00p..ish ...you get picked up by coach and taken into the middle of the island....God knows where?
many many people alighting from coaches as you pull up and then enter the place, loads of pigs being spit roasted in the court yard just before you enter the beautiful building.....
a bottle of wine each and plenty of food to start, all manner of acts, the spanish dancers ( that I thought would be a bit of a bore ) were simply superb.
Try a search for it, the Drifters and a fantastic magician among others were on when we went, well worth the money.
I will google search it and if i can not find anything, i will be back here with all my wonderful questions!!
thanks again
is it funny?
aimed at younger/ older people?
How many euro's per person?
How long is it on for?
Etc
All help greatly appreciated!!
have a look here..Loopy, its pure entertainment and stop worryin, you'll love it, all ages, young and old.
Btw Loopy, someone mentioned the "square" up the road, thats a crackin night also, lots of acts as you sit outside the many bars and get sloshed.
I am looking at booking a holiday to Majorca next summer and can't decide on which resort. There will be 3 children aged 8, 3, and 11 months. Both Santa Ponsa and Puerto Pollensa sound great, but could someone please give me some info. We dont want a resort that is too quiet, somewhere with a few lively bars would be fine. I look forward to your replies.
pollensa is lovely it has a lovely relax feel and is alitle more up market.
there are some lovley fish restaurants a few english bars and down the small streets some nice bars and restaurants
i went a year a go with my whole family including a teen and a younger one of 4

just a bus ride away is alcudia town with its pretty cobbled streets and roman ruins.there is a weekly market there.
again a bus ride away is c an picafort long sandy beach with a lovely walk to the new marina, plenty of shops and bars.
I was at santa ponsa 2 weeks ago for 4 days and that was 4 days to long.great if you are a celtic supporter and want to drink lager all day and night then get loud rowdy and drunk.the resort was dirty and not at all friendly towards the english.blackpool in the sun ,I will not be going back there.
That link you posted convinced me better than the website for the show!!!!
I think I will give it a chance, ha ha
So how far from Santa Ponsa is it? Am I better to book it trough the reps or is it a DIY job???
Also, I have heard a lot on 'the square' looking forward to visiting there!!!
Thanks a lot for all your help mate!!
:-)
