I should fly out to Mumbai in 13 days, I'm sitting tight at the moment and let my flight company sort it out, if they cancel it looks like I will have to walk to Goa.

Have heard on the radio that they have confirmed one British person dead. This is all so awful and my heart goes out to those out there right now.
I go in 9 days but willl have to see what develops.

At the moment FCO are only advising against non essential travel to Mumbai

Unless something actually happens in Goa I can't see them advising against travel there.
We were there a few years ago and ecerything was on high alert then.

Its just awful what is happening for the people caught up in it and their families and such a shame for the ordinary Indian who will be the loser in all this.

I know the FCO might not advise against travel to Goa, but the terrorists are targeting British and Americans, so its obvious they might target Goa as lots of Westerners travel to Goa.

This is only my opinion, i wouldnt say cancel your trip to Goa, but i might be cancelling my trip.

We are flying to Mumbai on Sunday, we havent got a clue what is happening I phoned BA this morning and as far as they are concerned they are still flying. But we are to await further decisions.

The Foriegn office are advising against travelling to Mumbai, but they haven't mentioned Goa.

For Greeneyed lady
what date are you in Mumbai - we are there on the 9th December. We are a little "jumpy" but there is not a lot we can do about it - only hope and pray for the best.

We're due to land in Mumbai on Tuesday evening.
Mumbai, in my opinion is one of the greatest cities in the world and I'm truly devastated for everyone caught up in the violence of the last 24hours.
Although we'll be vigilant I certainly won't be put off going to the country I love.
I grew up in 1970's Birmingham with the hideous atrocities carried out by the IRA and the constant shadow of terrorism. We had no choice but to go about our daily business and many of us have developed a fatalistic attitude as a consequence.

I also hope everyone is ok, but like yummymummy, I am a bit aprehensive at the moment and might consider cancelling our trip to Goa as I also feel its a prime target. Hopefully not though fingers crossed.

I also think Goa will be a prime target, so this is why i am a bit scared. We haven't booked it yet, but i am going to get our visas this week, and if we hear of anything happening in Goa during the next month then we will definetly not be booking for Goa, and will have to go somewhere else. After all, it will only be around 100pounds we will lose if we plan on not going.

I'm flying Dabolim to Mumbai - Mumbai to Dubai on Saturday. Feeling a bit edgy about all of this.

Goa

I can't imagine Ingo Market continuing. I certainly would not feel safe aanywhere in Goa where there are large crowds, especially at Xmas for sure. Don't really want to comment any more about this for obvious reasons.

Mumbai is Indias finance capital and they have targeted the biggest hotels and aimed it at western tourists to have the biggest impact on Indias economy. If people cancel then they have won. You have terroist incidents all over the world, what should we do all stay indoors for the rest of our lives :que

people .put things in perspective the way every one drives theres more chance having a fatality on a scooter .i know that sounds terrible but thats my way of dealing with it . do not let these evil people infect your life. think posotive . look forward to your holiday and enjoy your life youve been given. dont give in its exactly what they want

If I had young children, I think at the present time, I would reconsider going to Goa for a holiday. As I don't I would still go.
